Given the age of the building there is no insulation to buffer the noise from upstairs and outside.

What a unique way to experience Reykjavik. Located in the old town area of the city walkable to cafes, restaurants, museums and waterfront the House of the Snowbird was the perfect place to stay. The apartment was well stocked, comfortable and beautifully decorated. Easy and proactive communication with the host.

We were on the top floor and it is very easy for the guests below to hear our footsteps. We felt we couldn't come and go before or after the quiet hours.

The location was incredible, the space was more than adequate, the art and history woven into the property were awesome.

The street noise is very audible in the house. The curtains in the bedroom barely block out light which makes it harder to sleep.

Top location in the heart of historic Reykjavik. Several excellent restaurants nearby. Beautiful historic house and characteristic interior. Very warm and cozy. All the little amenities were available (salt, pepper, sugar, coffee, soap).

Very clone to the city center, we could do anything by foot. The house is super nice - actually we saw several tourists taking photos from the outside. The contact with Elsa was very kind. The appartement was equipped with anything you need.

Some noises do carry from the upper apartment and from the street, but that is expected in a historic home and given its prime location. It should not deter from booking as I would still stay here again!

Beautiful, historic home nestled right in middle of the city above a gallery. Cafes, shops, and restaurants all right outside the apartment and walking distance to all of the sites. The apartment had everything we needed, including nice extras like bath robes, extra pillows, and toiletries. The host was extremely accommodating and responsive. Would absolutely stay here when visiting again!

Only thing was some late night pubs nearby running club music until 2am or longer at night. Bring ear plugs if that bothers you.

Elsa went above and beyond, she left flowers and Easter eggs for us as it was Easter weekend, she let me amend my booking outside of the minimum nights, she was incredibly responsive and helpful. The extra bits and pieces in the bathroom and the kitchen were an added bonus! Such a beautiful stay.

As others have mentioned it is an old building and you can hear noises from the street and upstairs but it was what anyone should expect from staying in the hub of everything and didn't cause us any issues for sleeping.

Well appointed comfortable home in an exceptional location with parking! Elsa was a phenomenal host and we had a really wonderful time.

Wonderful stay! Apartment is so warm and inviting — filled with beautiful art pieces that made it feel extra special. The location couldn’t have been more perfect, with amazing restaurants and cozy cafés just next door. We truly felt at home and loved every moment. Can’t wait to come back!

There are 2 lockboxes at this location and our instructions identified the wrong lockbox. The owner responded quickly and gave us the correct code so no issues.

The location was perfect. Parking space was available and convenient. Having a kitchen worked out well for us. The owner checked in a couple of times to ensure everything was ok.

While not a negative comment, we were on the second floor and the stairs are a bit narrow but there is a railing. I wish there had been some area rugs so the noise of us walking around on the hardwood floors would not be so loud to those on the first floor- don’t forget- remove your shoes! Be sure to take a look at the picture of the house because there is not a sign on the outside indicating the name- yep, we drove by it three times until I looked at the listing - our issue and not theirs.

Clean, comfortable, great location, good communication with the owner. House had many amenities and included soaps and a nice amount of starter kitchen products. Many plug ins were available. Don’t forget to read the guest book as it has lots of good info about the history of the house.

This place was perfect! I would recommend this to anyone wanting to visit Reykjavic. Elsa was incredibly helpful and friendly. It's located right next to several amazing restaurants, a 1 minute walk from city centre, the city hall bus stop (for excursion pick ups), very close to the harbour for whale watching, the Lava show and Puffin watching. The facilities were clean and well supplied, the house felt personal and felt like a home away from home.

Since it’s an old house, the floors are creaky and sound travels easily from upstairs and outside.

Lovely property one block from the main action. Appointed nicely and very comfortable. We had everything we needed. Elsa was very attentive and quick to help. The location was perfect.
