Detailed instructions were left for checking in after hours. Read the guest house reviews and description thoroughly

The room door jam was really stuck. Hopefully they can file the door frame so that it fits better or maybe leave the door unlocked because it was extremely hard and panic and new thing to check in after hours and not be able to open the doors. We booked two rooms and we didn’t realize they were going to be in two separate buildings. Even though they are short walk from each other There was broken glass from a wine bottle on the walk over. One room was 202 and that one was a basic economy room single. Quite literally just a bed and another bed in there even though it was a single. The bathrooms are shared outside. The other room is in the annex room 502. This room was a bit better but this was the room where the door was extremely hard to open. The shared bathroom was completely covered in water. The towels are extremely rough. The pillows are crumbling. We only stayed three hours. We arrived very late and had to leave very early. I don’t think we will stay here again. This is likely a cheaper place to stay and within walking distance of downtown Reykjavík but I think you could find better for the price.

Did not have their breakfast but coffee / tea is available for free at anytime. Location is great. It’s within walking distance to eateries, shopping, attractions and a short drive away to the Perlan Museum - a must go.

The stairs - it’s spiral and a bit narrow especially if you need to negotiate it with a heavy luggage. Seniors or those with some mobility difficulties would find the stairs very challenging.

Proximity to downtown. Clean and quiet despite the many rooms. Easy free parking. Complimentary coffee. Although shared bathroom, there was a sink in our double room. This is more like a hostel than a hotel, but perfect for our one night stay in Reykjavik.

    Terrible flat pillows.

    Modern ensuite bathroom

I booked a double room with ensuite which turned out to be room 605 in the ‘Economy’ Annexe down the road. This building was under renovation. We never saw any staff. The towels and bath mat were seriously worn out and frayed. The latter was also stained. There was only one bowl in the kitchen shared by 5 apartments. The reviews I have read are very different to our experience so I imagine they were in the main building which has much greater oversight by the owners. The Annexe is entered from a busy road with no parking outside. The main building is much better located.

It was perfectly fine. well situated for the coach station and the bus to domestic airport, so suited us. Very basic, but we slept and showered and left, so not much else was required.

Easy walking distance from the main bus station to the airport. You check yourself in. Waking distance to the cathedral/main tourist shopping district.

Did not like laundry room was only available until 10pm (11pm would be better). Also ended up that my room was in their "annex", which was around the corner, so not in the main building.

Plain , spotless , comfy beds with good black out. Warm and large bathroom with unending hot water. Cozy kitchen with free hot drinks and tables to sit at. 10 mins walk from bus station. Staff immediately contactable and friendly. Lovely chatting to fellow travellers too.

Bit of struggle from bus station over gravel etc but otherwise really excellent value for money. Area is residential on main road but short walk to centre of town.

The guesthouse is one of a kind! You can really tell it is something special as soon as you enter the little garden! We stayed in studio B, there is laundry room and the location in general is pretty comfortable! We went on foot to the central spots which were near our accommodation. Also the kitchen came really handy since we could prepare our meals. I would definitely recommend this place,we enjoyed staying there and our little one did too!

The host is a very kind and pleasant person, once we asked him to help us solve a small problem with a local tour operator and he immediately agreed to help us and we thank him very much for that. Even though there were shared bathrooms, we did not see anything to concern us in terms of cleanliness. The water we bathed in smelled of sulfur but from what I read it is a situation that exists everywhere in Reykjavik. Relatively close to the BSI bus station and to get to the famous pedestrian streets and sights of the capital. Easy check in - check out... Especially at checkout just close the door.

There were cats roaming around the 2 shared rooms, kitchen and dining room with all that this implies for hygiene issues and for people allergic to cats. The cats seemed completely familiar with the area and where we had our fork a moment ago they were walking on the shared floors. The cats seemed completely familiar with the space and where we had our fork a moment ago, they were strolling on the communal tables and chairs in the dining room and on the food preparation counters in the kitchen, something that is at least unacceptable for human hygiene conditions. The sheets and towels were old and worn but at least clean. I also didn't like the mattress.

I liked that they accommodated me for a second night. Something Booking never figured out. My stay was 2 nights. The room was comfortable and I had lots of coffee and tea whenever I wanted. The staff offer lots of advice via email but are only around in the morning. They let you be independent. Great location to the bus terminal and downtown. At the same time they are very friendly.

I knew about the shared bathroom and it worked extremely well but I decided I am a little old for the arrangement. A clothing hook or 2 would be a convenience in the bath as there is no place to hang your towel or clothes. Everything was adequate and appropriate to the price. There is even a kitchen on each floor so people can save by eating their own food. A great budget place to stay.
