How guest reviews work
Each review score is between 1-10. To get the overall score that you see, we add up all the review scores we’ve received and divide that total by the number of review scores we’ve received. We use a weighted review system which means that the more recent the review, the bigger the impact on the total review score calculation. In addition, guests can give separate ‘subscores’ in crucial areas, such as location, cleanliness, staff, comfort, facilities, value for money and free Wi-Fi. Note that guests submit their subscores and their overall scores independently, so there’s no direct link between them.
You can review an Accommodation that you booked through our Platform if you stayed there or if you arrived at the property but didn’t actually stay there. To edit a review you’ve already submitted, please contact our Customer Service team.
We have people and automated systems that specialise in detecting fake reviews submitted to our Platform. If we find any, we delete them and, if necessary, take action against whoever is responsible.
Anyone else who spots something suspicious can always report it to our Customer Service team, so our Fraud team can investigate.
Ideally, we would publish every review we receive, whether positive or negative. However, we won’t display any review that includes or refers to (among other things):
- Politically sensitive comments
- Promotional content
- Illegal activities
- Personal or sensitive information (e.g. emails, phone numbers or credit card info)
- Swear words, sexual references, hate speech, discriminatory remarks, threats, or references to violence
- Spam and fake content
- Animal cruelty
- Impersonation (e.g. if the writer is claiming to be someone else)
- Any violation of our review guidelines.
To make sure reviews are relevant, we may only accept reviews that are submitted within 3 months of checking out, and we may stop showing reviews once they’re 36 months old – or if the Accommodation has a change of ownership.
An Accommodation may choose to reply to a review.
When you see multiple reviews, the most recent ones will be at the top, subject to a few other factors (what language a review is in, whether it’s just a rating or contains comments as well, etc.). If you like, you can sort and/or filter them (by time of year, review score, etc.).
We sometimes show external review scores from other well-known travel websites. We make it clear when we’ve done this.
Guidelines and standards for Reviews

But: - the room is very small and combined with kitchen - very difficult to air out (I smelled the food from the previous guest and next day - my breakfast - the bathroom is impossible to air out - if You do the dinner it will be impossible to sleep due to the smell :( - the kitchen is poorly equiped - the space for recreation is for two rooms (I did not know that from the pictures) So generally - difficult to assess. I will book this room again but I understand good reivews.
I have a problem to review Klettar The Old Hatchery because: - it looks very, very nice and cosy - has space for recreation - it is warm - parking - location - good bed - table and wardrobe in the room - good communication with host - self-check-in, late check-in

The room is a bit small (as indicated by the m2) when you have 2 bags + want to cook and eat. The fridge is quite noisy and as it is right next to the bed, that‘s a bit annoying.
Very nicely located and easy to reach from different paths whether coming from south or from highlands etc. Possibility to cook very nice. Good communication and easy check-in

The floor was sticky and dirty, it was very unpleasant to walk on it. In the kitchen there are exactly two of everything (two spoons, two plates of two types, etc.) - this is not enough for comfortable cooking even if there are only two people. The bathroom has a very narrow sink, it is impossible to bend over to it because of the hanging cabinet (it would be possible to hang the cabinet on the left and it would be much more convenient). There isn't a single sponge for dishes in the kitchen! It's a good thing I had my own with me
There is a net on the windows which saved us from midges

Walls are made of napkins, so you can hear other guests perfectly at 1am. Make a good reason to go knock on their door lol

Access was difficult in the snow and only being able to contact by email was a little bit of an issue on our first night, but we figured it out. Parking can be a bit challenging if the conditions are icy.
Great location, kept very clean, the bed was very comfy and not too small, and the colourful lights in the bedroom were a lovely touch. It was quiet throughout our whole stay and felt very homely, we were also very grateful to have access to a fridge, stove and little kettle. Even though we booked the little room it still felt spacious for the two of us.

The bed was too small for two people and was not comfortable to lay in. There was also very little cutlery and kitchen utensils.

The fridge was off when we got to the property and it wasn’t clear how to turn it on. It took a quick call to the helpful staff at the facility. Also, clearer indication of what appliances are in the kitchen would have been useful. It had a great little stove top, no oven or microwave.
Beautiful facility, very clean. Had a great little kitchenette and lovely bathroom. Very spacious.

Refrigirator was not working when we checked in. It took us while to find out how to make it work. A little note explaining how to operate the refrigerator would be nice. Kitchen supplies was very few and they were not very clean.
Very good place and it will be always very special for us because this was the first place we see northern lights. Beds were very small but comfy.

Rooms were a little small but it was sufficient for having a good night's rest. The room was a little warm at first but could be aired by opening the windows and felt much better after airing the room.
Clean place. Hot water available for showers. Parking was allocated just next to the accomodation. Host was friendly and helpful. Easy to access the property. We were staying at rooms 10 and 15 and the communal area just outside our rooms overlooked a field/farm. Very therapeutic for us who have stayed in cities all our lives. It's location gives us a good base to explore all the surrounding tourist attractions. There is a convenience store nearby at Fludir and the Secret Lagoon is also nearby. Selfoss is also a short drive away if you need a bigger supermarket (Bonus and Kronan)

Zero insight for user experience - no hooks to hang your clothes, nice to have floor heating but where do you dry your stuff after a rainy day, stingy choice of kitchen equipment - two pieces of each cuttlery, narrow beds (for no reason in such a sizeable appartment), smoke alarm goes off any time you fry anything (as no kitchen exhaust), etc… guys, stay for one day and you will know (or come down to ask how we are doing)
