Midgard Base Camp is an amazing place. Great atmosphere, super organized, and their super jeep tours are unforgettable. The rooms are clean and comfortable, and the rooftop hot tub and sauna are just perfect after a long day. Special thanks to Gina, who immediately fixed my booking mistake (I had booked the wrong date for a jeep tour) and made sure I didn’t miss it.. she was fantastic! Also, Mattea was super kind and helpful throughout my stay. Special thanks to the amazing Izak, our super jeep guide, who brought so much personality and energy to the tour. He kept us laughing the whole way, and everything he shared was insightful and fascinating. Highly recommended!

There was a band playing until 11:00pm when we were trying to sleep as we had to get on road very early in morning. Liked the idea of music but after a long day 11:00pm was late for us

At night, some of the top bunk beds were a little hot. Even when we open the window, some of us didn't feel cool air.

Very good facilities. We really benefited from the laundry and dryer machines. Rooms and bathrooms were kept clean as well.

I would suggest that they have a snack vending machine maybe or sell some late night snack specially for travelers who came in late from the road or travel that would be a plus.

I like the amenities it has for traveler, laundry, dryer for swim suites and blower for wet shoes. All the small stuff matters. Also like that it has a lot of bathrooms

Friendly, with a great vibe and all the facilities to have a great stay, including a rooftop hot tub with stunning views across to the glacier Eyjafjallajökull. Our 4-bed family room was perfect for us as a party of two adults and two teenagers, staying 3 nights while exploring the local area. The free boot and jacket drying facilities were really useful. We enjoyed breakfast and a couple of dinners at the on-site restaurant. Great location for the lava centre, thermal river, Seljalandsfoss waterfall, glacier hiking at Sólheimajökull and all the activities in Vik. We also took one of Midgard's Super Jeep tours to Fjallabak - highly recommended for stunning views around every turn.

Really nothing, great place to stay

Staff were incredibly helpful and nice, roof top sauna and hot tub were a great surprise on a cold rainy day. Shoe dryer and laundry were very helpful.

Coffee could be improved. Laundry was expensive so make sure you have a full load to wash.

Perfect base to take the wonderful Midgard super jeep tours. Rooms well designed and comfortable and loved the small kitchen and self dining area. Excellent bar with happy hour and restaurant serves up hearty and tasty meals. Very useful laundry facilities and fantastic sauna/hot tub to relax after lond day of hiking.

What an amazing place. Love the ethos and family feel. Gina made us feel very welcome, helped us with weather forecasts and hiking information and found a place where we could dry our tent. Hidden gem for travellers.

We booked a private room (not a dorm) but still found it felt more like hostel-style decor. It would’ve been nice if the room had a few more pieces of furniture to make it more comfortable. As it was, the space really only worked for sleeping—there wasn’t anywhere to sit or relax unless you wanted to spend all your time in the common room. The fur chair? maybe it should be used for common room.
