Reviews of Riverfront Lodge Hella

The room was clean and comfortable. Very basic, but included all of the needed facilities. The staff is very lovely.

The door lock is stiff and complicated to lock, we struggled with the lock quite a lot. We had only one toilet paper roll and ran out in the middle of the night without any place to restock, but when we asked the staff for more in the morning they were happy to supply.

Requested invoice 5 times through emails - no reply. I've called, they said they will send, haven't received it.

It was easy to get to with restaurants and things around it. Since it was on our way and not too expensive, it worked out well. The room and bathroom were spacious enough. Breakfast was good and offered lots of options. It was nice having a mini fridge with freezer section.

The room was very warm and the opened windows let in several bugs so we didn't have a great night's rest. The staff could have been more helpful when we called about how the door locks. (The doors are a bit tricky to lock and one of our other stays, the host showed us how to work them. I wish this owner would have done that for us.) Compared to our other stays, not sure we'd recommend Riverfront.

Clean linen and room, sufficient furniture and room equipment. They even provided a coffee machine with two coffee capsules and tea bags. Sufficient available parking. Nice and comfortable beds and pillows. Easy self-service check in and check out with prompt and clear instructions.

Mirror in the toilet was not in front of the sink but on the wall at the back of the sink, which is an awkward position. Just a minor gripe though, no major inconvenience.

Location was lovely overlooking the river. Breakfast was plentiful.

Walls were quite thin. Could hear talking and snoring from other guests. Breakfast starts at 8.15 which meant we were rushed on one day as we had a trip booked.

My boyfriend and I had a wonderful stay at Riverfront Lodge in Hella. We were both competing in a bike race 10 mins drive away (as were quite a few of the guests) and it was the perfect place to get ready for the race and relax afterwards. The hosts were incredibly friendly and informative - we had an interesting conversation about Icelandic culture over our last breakfast but at no point did we feel they were overbearing. They were very accommodating about our bikes, letting us use the decking to assemble them and break them down for the bike boxes and offering us use of the hose to clean them if needed. Breakfast was varied and a great start to the day. We bought food from a local supermarket and the shared kitchen was well stocked with every cooking utensil and seasoning etc that we needed to make dinner. The location is simply stunning - backing onto a river with scenic views in the background. The room was cozy (we pushed our twin beds together) and the water pressure in the shower was good. For anyone looking for a relaxing place to use as a base to explore the local area - the Highlands a short drive away are beautiful - this is it.

A bit uncomfortable eating breakfast when seated right next to host working on his laptop and on the phone. Like much of Europe tight quarters in room when trying to lay out luggage.

Owners were very nice and helped us and even gave us a ride

Booking and check in was easy, rooms well appointed. Location fantastic. Owners and staff very friendly and accommodating.

Cool spot right by the river, the rooms were super clean and cute. Breakfast was a welcome surprise.
