How guest reviews work
Each review score is between 1-10. To get the overall score that you see, we add up all the review scores we’ve received and divide that total by the number of review scores we’ve received. We use a weighted review system which means that the more recent the review, the bigger the impact on the total review score calculation. In addition, guests can give separate ‘subscores’ in crucial areas, such as location, cleanliness, staff, comfort, facilities, value for money and free Wi-Fi. Note that guests submit their subscores and their overall scores independently, so there’s no direct link between them.
You can review an Accommodation that you booked through our Platform if you stayed there or if you arrived at the property but didn’t actually stay there. To edit a review you’ve already submitted, please contact our Customer Service team.
We have people and automated systems that specialise in detecting fake reviews submitted to our Platform. If we find any, we delete them and, if necessary, take action against whoever is responsible.
Anyone else who spots something suspicious can always report it to our Customer Service team, so our Fraud team can investigate.
Ideally, we would publish every review we receive, whether positive or negative. However, we won’t display any review that includes or refers to (among other things):
- Politically sensitive comments
- Promotional content
- Illegal activities
- Personal or sensitive information (e.g. emails, phone numbers or credit card info)
- Swear words, sexual references, hate speech, discriminatory remarks, threats, or references to violence
- Spam and fake content
- Animal cruelty
- Impersonation (e.g. if the writer is claiming to be someone else)
- Any violation of our review guidelines.
To make sure reviews are relevant, we may only accept reviews that are submitted within 3 months of checking out, and we may stop showing reviews once they’re 36 months old – or if the Accommodation has a change of ownership.
An Accommodation may choose to reply to a review.
When you see multiple reviews, the most recent ones will be at the top, subject to a few other factors (what language a review is in, whether it’s just a rating or contains comments as well, etc.). If you like, you can sort and/or filter them (by time of year, review score, etc.).
We sometimes show external review scores from other well-known travel websites. We make it clear when we’ve done this.
Guidelines and standards for Reviews
These guidelines and standards aim to keep the content on Booking.com relevant and family-friendly without limiting expression of strong opinions. They are also applicable regardless of the sentiment of the comment.
Contributions should be travel related. The most helpful contributions are detailed and help others make better decisions. Please don’t include personal, political, ethical, or religious commentary. Promotional content will be removed and issues concerning Booking.com’s services should be routed to our Customer Service or Accommodation Service teams.
Contributions should be appropriate for a global audience. Please avoid using profanity or attempts to approximate profanity with creative spelling, in any language. Comments and media that include 'hate speech', discriminatory remarks, threats, sexually explicit remarks, violence, and the promotion of illegal activity are not permitted.
All content should be genuine and unique to the guest. Reviews are most valuable when they are original and unbiased. Your contribution should be yours. Booking.com property partners should not post on behalf of guests or offer incentives in exchange for reviews. Attempts to bring down the rating of a competitor by submitting a negative review will not be tolerated.
Respect the privacy of others. Booking.com will make an effort to obscure email addresses, telephone numbers, website addresses, social media accounts, and similar details.
The opinions expressed in contributions are those of Booking.com customers and properties and not of Booking.com. Booking.com does not accept responsibility or liability for any reviews or responses. Booking.com is a distributor (without any obligation to verify) and not a publisher of these comments and responses.
By default, reviews are sorted based on the date of the review and on additional criteria to display the most relevant reviews, including but not limited to: your language, reviews with text, and non-anonymous reviews. Additional sorting options may be available (by type of traveller, by score, etc.).

Verified reviewAmazing property and view.
Forgot to bring enough food…not a lot of options in the evening near by. Wish something was open until 9, but very small town.

Verified reviewCharming modern cabin with breathtaking views. The owners have done excellent job of designing and furnishing the cabins each which have an ocean view. The kitchen was well equipped and the bathroom and shower was the best we had during our 10 days in Iceland.

Verified reviewExcellent property! I would live in one of these if I could! Very clean. Amazing view. It was hotter than hades when I arrived, but it cooled off quickly with the windows open plus the air conditioner. The kitchen items were a great convenience. The bed literally made me laugh when I laid down because it was so comfortable.
The curtain draw-cords in the living room were not quite strong enough to stand up to average pulling. I had to snap the plastic back in place 3 times. The towel heater was not working either... not sure if it was broken or just having connection issues. Not a deal breaker of course, but that would have been a nice touch.

Verified reviewThe contemporary cabin was gorgeous, brand new and in an amazing location with incredible views.
Would suggest better designated parking area for each unit as people parked wherever they wanted and could park near a person’s unit and block their view.

Verified reviewThis was an exceptional experience. There was no staff, there was an email with all of the information I needed. A view and location that couldn't be replicated anywhere else.

Verified reviewStunning ocean view right outside the window! Waking up to this breathtaking coastline felt unreal – the photos don't do it justice. The apartment itself was spotlessly clean and incredibly comfortable.

Verified reviewFor the first time in my life, I didn’t want to leave a place. Péninsula Suites is simply magical. The view is absolutely breathtaking — we stayed in Suite 1, which I truly believe offers the best view I’ve ever seen. Being there felt like stepping out of this world. It’s the perfect place to disconnect completely and reconnect with nature, the sea, and even the sound of the seagulls. I’ve never felt so light, so peaceful, so far away from the noise of everyday life. The interior is beautifully designed with incredible attention to detail. Every material is top quality — even the kitchen towels and bed linens. The lighting, the layout — everything has been so thoughtfully curated. I’m 100% coming back, and next time for a longer stay. This is, without a doubt, the best place I’ve ever been. I recommend, recommend, and recommend again!
Everything was just perfect

Verified reviewIt’s like a forbidden from the city near by the sea, which is not famous, has less people. The room is new and clean, everything are clean although ppl cook in the room, it still fresh. We can be very calm to stayed here, however we can only cook here, we are very happy to do it,it is a good experience to dine in the room face to the beach, we also chose to dine the canteen nearby.

Verified reviewI can say that it was THE BEST accommodation during our 10 day trip around Iceland. Nice location - right on the sea with incredible views. Very well planned interior with nice furniture. The cottage has very large glass windows giving you incredible views on the sea and surroundings but in the same time the distance between other cottages is also good. Very nice bathroom. Cosy bed and couch. Also pretty good price. In overal: all was amazing - location, the cottage, etc. Also they are very fast with replies on Booking.com 10/10 - perfect.
Nothing - this place is perfect.

Verified reviewThe view was incredible, the beds were comfy, and the black out shades were great. The shower was nice and spacious. I was glad it was our last stay of the trip because it blew the other places out of the water.
There really wasn't anywhere to store you luggage/clothing. There is one small closet but no dresser. The bedroom is fairly small and it was tight to store bags.

Verified reviewIt is a fantastic place with so many birds around - we could see and listen to dozens of Eurasian oystercatchers, Common redshanks, Common snipes and many others.

Verified reviewBed was incredibly comfortable. We had been awake for.28 hours straight and slept so well once we landed in bed. It was lovely to have espresso in the morning.
The open shower was a bit of a mess, hard to keep the water from leaving the shower area. But there was great water pressure so it was OK overall

Verified reviewBrand new stylish luxury suite cabins that all face the ocean. The materials in the cabin were high quality and well thought out, including a mirror in the bathroom with an LED frame perfect for makeup application and a lightbar in the main closet (no need to dig around in the dark). A small kitchen allowed my wife and I to easily prepare a dinner, and the minisplit offered both heating and cooling, which came in handy during the current Icelandic heat wave. The bed was on the firm side but pillows were nice and fluffy, and the shower had plenty of pressure and hot water. Others have mentioned a lack of storage space—there is a large closet for both hanging clothes and room on the bottom for bags, so that also acted as our food pantry. We've been in the country for 3 weeks but stayed here for only two nights, which seemed perfect— it's a space to relax and enjoy but not really settled into for an extended stay. We appreciated the daily towel changing/trash collection, and I also really appreciated the owner's willingness to work with us on a last-minute date change (my wife has unfortunately been sick for a chunk of this trip, which affected our itinerary). While my wife and I didn't spy any whales, we really enjoyed watching two busy Oyster Catchers and their three rambunctious fledglings roaming the grounds around our cabin (like enjoyed it to a degree that we didn't think possible... they were ridiculous and so much fun to watch). There's also a small cafe— Fjöruhúsið Café— down near the pier/beach. Google says that they're temporarily closed but they are open, and the waffles and skyr cake are delicious! We visit Iceland often and are always looking for new and nice places to stay— we are already talking about including the Peninsula Suites again in a future trip.

Verified reviewPerfect location, beautiful sea view, modern furniture, almost perfectly equipped. Premium category.
Handheld shower intentionally removed, only overhead shower available. The handling of the keypad to unlock the door isn't obvious. upon arrival. Better handling info would help a lot.
