Read more– opens a dialog boxEach review score is between 1 and 10. To get the overall score you see, we add up all the review scores we’ve received and divide that total by the number of them. We use a weighted review system, which means the more recent the review, the bigger the impact on the total review score calculation. Guests can also give separate “subscores” in crucial areas like location, cleanliness, staff, comfort, facilities, value, and free Wifi. Note that guests submit their subscores and overall scores independently, so there’s no direct link between them.
You can review an accommodation that you booked through our platform if you stayed there, or if you got to the property but didn’t actually stay there. To edit a review you’ve already submitted, contact our Customer Service team.
We have people and automated systems that specialize in detecting fake reviews submitted to our platform. If we find any, we delete them and, if necessary, take action against whoever is responsible.
Anyone who spots something suspicious can always report it to our Customer Service team so that our fraud team can investigate.
Ideally, we'd publish every review we get, positive and negative. However, we won’t display any reviews that include or refer to (among other things):
To make sure reviews are relevant, we may only accept reviews that are submitted within 3 months of checking out. We may stop showing reviews once they’re 36 months old, or if the accommodation has a change of ownership.
An accommodation can reply to a review.
When you see multiple reviews, the most recent ones will be at the top, subject to a few other factors (e.g. language, whether it’s just a rating or contains comments as well, etc.). You can sort and/or filter them by time of year, review score, and more.
Sometimes we show external review scores from other well-known travel websites, but make it clear when we do this.
These guidelines and standards aim to keep the content on Booking.com relevant and family-friendly, without limiting expression or strong opinions. They're also applicable regardless of the comment's tone.
Contributions should be travel related. The most helpful contributions are detailed and help others make better decisions. Please don’t include personal, political, ethical, or religious commentary. Promotional content will be removed and issues concerning Booking.com’s services should be routed to our Customer Service or Accommodation Service teams.
Contributions should be appropriate for a global audience. Please avoid using profanity or attempts to approximate profanity with creative spelling, in any language. Comments and media that include hate speech, discriminatory remarks, threats, sexually explicit remarks, violence, or the promotion of illegal activity are not permitted.
All content should be genuine and unique to the guest. Reviews are most valuable when they are original and unbiased. Your contribution should be yours. Booking.com property partners should not post on behalf of guests or offer incentives in exchange for reviews. Attempts to bring down the rating of a competitor by submitting a negative review will not be tolerated.
Respect the privacy of others. Booking.com will make an effort to obscure email addresses, telephone numbers, website addresses, social media accounts, and other similar details.
The opinions expressed in contributions are those of Booking.com customers and properties, and not of Booking.com. Booking.com does not accept responsibility or liability for any reviews or responses. Booking.com is a distributor (without any obligation to verify) and not a publisher of these comments and responses.
By default, reviews are sorted based on the date of the review and on additional criteria to display the most relevant reviews, including but not limited to: your language, reviews with text, and non-anonymous reviews. Additional sorting options might be available (by type of traveler, by score, etc...).

United StatesThis is such a warm and welcoming location by a wonderful host. The rental was clean, modern, and had wonderful finishings. It was very special to go outside and have the horses come running over to visit and say hello. Be sure to book a ride and meal with the host with your stay!

GermanyBe aware that the gravel road to the farm is quite long and slippery. Go slow!
Located in a super peaceful area with no neighbours (except for the other three cabins), right next to a meadow with four wild Icelandic Horses (the little grey-ish one seems to be the most curious one and even came to the fence to say hi!). Only a 30 minutes drive to the ferry to the Westman Islands, and Seljalandsfoss. Super spacious cabin, very cozy, fully equipped kitchen, incredibly comfy bed with an amazing view, hot shower, very friendly neighbours' cat (be careful, it might slip in once you open the doors)! I felt right at home! Would definitely stay again!

United StatesI absolutely loved staying here. The keys were in the door of our private cabin. We arrived early for a horseback ride and were able to get into our cabin prior to freshen up.

United KingdomWe had a lovely time here! It's a shame that the last few days just flew by and we had to leave 😊. To the host - thank you for looking after this place. We saw how much work and love you have put in here 🐴🤍. We are delighted with our stay and we will recommend this place to people we know 😊. This time, we travelled on a budget, but we are hoping to come back one day and try horse riding too. Your horses are so beautiful! 🐴🥰 Wishing you all the best!

Lovely cosy cabin, very comfortable and warm. Horses were very friendly and we loved watching them in their field right in front of our cabin. Bonus to see amazing Northern Lights on the night we stayed.

United StatesNice to have a coffee maker but would have appreciated some shelf stable creamer. We were only there for one night so it was a waste of time and money to have to drive back into town to get creamer. For the price of the place you could surely have provided that.
Very cute cabin and for how small it was it functioned well.

Very nice house with everything that’s needed for a short stay and nicely decorated inside. Loved the horses! It was a great experience for the kids.

FinlandA little bit more expensive, but worth any penny.
We had our own little cottage, which looked amazing. It was warm and cozy, with a nice kitchen and wonderful bathroom. A very nice bed with view to the meadow with horses. You can say hello to the horses and they're very calm and friendly. In the evening a perfect sunset. You can lay in bed and look outside, enjoy the view. You can book as well horse riding. A perfect place to stay. Would have loved to stay longer.

HungaryIt is a cozy and quiet cabin but spacious enough to be comfortable. There were many blankets to choose from. The room smelled very nice. The kitchenette has all you need including stove, dishwasher, Nespresso machine with capsules. The view through the large windows to the horses, fields and sky were exactly what I wanted to experience! All in all I fully recommend this property to anyone who wants to relax :)

Austria-
Feel the country and the horses! We stayed here for one week and visited common and secret places nearby by the rented 4WD. Very close to the ferry (Landeyjahöfn) to the Vestmannaeyjar (Westmen Island). The cottage is clean and has a cooking place with all equipment you need (coffee machine, dish washer, microwave). Very nice, relaxed and friendly staff. My daughter also joined the famous black beach ride. Best thing: no TV set and the panorama windows.

United StatesPeople expect horses to come up to the window like pictured on the website. There is a fence and the horses wander at will between pastures. Not a negative for us at all but want others to know that you won’t Have horses eating out of your hand from you bed.
Gorgeous with friendly staff. Cottage was amazing with cozy blankets and pillows, plates and silverware, coffee, kitchenette, table, amazing views out of both sides of the cabin. Probably our favorite place we stayed.

United StatesIt is very isolated, and you’ll need to be comfortable with your GPS and travel on gravel roads. I would suggest that you bring your food and spend at least one day doing nothing but enjoying the serenity of the surroundings and the proximity to the horses. I would have appreciated instructions on how to use the heating and dishwasher.
The Icelandic horses are the main attraction, but the sweeping views of the Westman islands and Northern glaciers don’t disappoint! Our tiny house was modern, comfortable, and cozy. There are plenty of throw blankets and pillows around so that you can nest into the furniture. It was very convenient to have a kitchen.

GermanyWe traveled as a family with two adult girls. For the four of us it worked, but not super perfectly. Especially the stylish barn door style bathroom sliding door was not ideal, because in our house it would provide visual separation, but not more.
Beautiful surroundings with view of happy perfectly kept horses on super well maintained fields - just amazing. Beds including the pullout sofa were super comfortable, layout very efficient with a spacious bathroom - the nicest we have seen on our roundtrip. Really nice design of everything. Kitchen is small but has everything to prepare small meals. Thanks to dishwasher and a smart system of several fresh clothes and towels and a clean brush we felt we could manage two meals a day easily. Nice natural products in the bathroom. Nice towels. Overall, a really pretty, comfortable small house that doesn’t feel to small due to the height of the ceiling. We booked ahead a beach ride with the owner Hördur and it was the best decision! Thank you!

We recently stayed at Sleeping with Horses during our journey along the south coast of Iceland. This location was great. We had the Kria unit, which was beautifully decorated and had all the amenities we needed and more. The bed was incredibly comfortable, and the shower had excellent water pressure. One of the highlights was enjoying my morning coffee taking pictures of the horses right outside our unit. Overall, we had a wonderful time and would highly recommend Sleeping with Horses, to anyone traveling through the area.
