Reviews of Solheimar Eco-Village Guesthouse

We stayed at a 2 bedroom apartment and we have access to our own small kitchenette. The bedrooms and toilet are clean. There is also a shared living room with a TV and kitchen in the building which was clean and spacious.

Very well organized and maintained guesthouse complex:) calm and cozy place

Nice place in a nice town. Big kitchen with a lot of ammenities, nice covered terrace and living room.

We had some difficulties with the self-check in because the other guests had closed the front door from the inside. Only two bathrooms for several people. Tiny room. Some labels to identify your food and a "free stuff" box would have been great to have.

There was no parking; there were spots for maybe five cars when there were at least 12 rooms in the guesthouse. Furthermore, the parking spots were very unsafe; I saw a gentleman almost fall down the very steep embarkment when trying to leave his parking spot. We tried to park at the bottom of the guesthouse but a rude gentleman told us that was only for apartment parking. This information was not provided to us and we had no idea where to park. The alternate parking was rather far away down a hill. This was a very poor start to our stay.

Bedroom with private bathroom, spacious. Common area with a lot of tables and some sofas, and a huge kitchen with anything needed. The village is so nice.

The bad smell in the washroom. The water which came out from the shower smelled like the sewers.

Well located, very clean. We were lucky to be in one of the only two rooms occupied that night. When full it might be a while different experience (noise trrough thin walls, one shared bathroom…)

Beautiful guesthouse with spacious and nicely decorated rooms. Wonderful outdoors, but close to the sites for the Golden Circle.

If you are doing the loop backward and want a good head start, this place is perfect. Or if you are ending the day late and dont want to drive all the way back, it is very worth a night's break.

The mattresses were super comfortable, the view of the surroundings was beautiful, the kitchen equipment was excellent.

horrible experience. No breakfast, stinky water, no reception and hard to find...the worst experience in iceland

During my stay an american group covered the house. They were very loud and inconsiderate and used the bathroom without any respect for other guests...

Comfy beds, peaceful, excellent facilities, cleanliness of rooms and kitchen facilities. Great location for Golden Circle places of interest

Nothing that we didnt like. However, would have wished for the opening hours of the shop to be longer - weren't able to visit as we were out all day every day from 8am to 6pm :( Also, extractor fans in kitchen were not working - sorry for the bacon smell!

Wonderful, quiet retreat. Great place to stay, if you want to spend more days discovering the golden ring. About 25 minutes drive from the Secret lagoon.

The kitchen/lounge area was very spacious and well equipped (photo attached).

There is no restaurant or grocery store within 15km of this guest house. We reached in late in the evening and we're at a loss about where to have dinner. Fortunately, we had some eggs and bread with us...or it might have been a long hungry night. The rooms were a little small compared to the other guest houses we stayed at on this trip. The management is rather unresponsive. They don't answer queries or requests for days together.
