My first visit to Iceland in August and it was very busy (more than I expected for peak season), as was the south coast in general. The north and east were quieter and less commercial.

Since my last visit, they have almost completed a large expansion to the reception and cafe area. I stayed in one of the new rooms on the extension. As always the staff were a pleasure and very helpful. On my booking, I noted I am gluten intolerant and when I gave my room number at breakfast, they had slices of bread ready for me. After walking around the beach and viking village for around 4 hours, I returned and had the vegan cheesecake as it was also gluten free. The beds were very comfortable and I slept well on both nights.

Exceptional place to stay, nice size of a room and very comfy beds. Staying there, you get also a free tickets to the beach and viking village- worth to visit! But the best of it was the staff - Lambert and the whole team- so kind service and they are going an extra mile to make your stay better! Huge thanks to Lambert and his team- we felt like a special guests there! And the waffles were mouthwatering 🤤!

Beautiful location and amazing view. Access to the natural park included, so we got to walk around in the evening (and saw some seals) and again in the morning. The accommodation included breakfast, which was great!

    Nothing

The staff is friendly and helpful even when he is busy at serving the other’s dinner order.(a long waiting que).He especially went outside the reception and show us the location of our room.(actually it is easy to find ,yet it’s the 1st time in Iceland). The breakfast is very good and versatile(5 kinds of fruit !).A free ticket to go around the mountain ,and we felt quite amusing at Viking village (also does the battle ship).

It would be nice if the lamps by the bed had pass through usb so I could plug my phone in without having to unplug the lamp.

Friendly staff and so cozy! The rooms are warm, modern and clean with nice bedding and good shower pressure. Having a view out to watch the weather was great! And loved how well insulated it was - couldn’t hear a lot of wind noise inside. For the price it is exceptional value especially with the fantastic breakfast! I also liked that I could sit at one of the cafe tables to write. I also liked the big coat rack and tea kettle in my room. Really great base for exploring the area and getting to see it at different times of day and weather.

The cafe was a little chaotic, with a constant line of people checking in to rooms, or the campsites, or ordering food - but it looked like they were construction an official reception area to deal with this issue.

This place was fantastic! We loved our room which was clean, spacious, filled with light and had a well equipped kitchenette and LAUNDRY MACHINES! The included breakfast was a buffet with a great selection of foods & beverages, and after checking out, we took advantage of the free passes to walk on the stunning black sand beach and explore the viking village on the property.

We needed a family room, but somehow I couldn’t choose one room for 4people. I was told I needed to book two rooms, which I did. When we got there, one room had 3, the other one 4beds. So we paid way more than would have been necessary.

Location is wonderful! Nice options at the cafe, yummy waffles.

The "deluxe" rooms were in an interesting concrete structure. The walls provided very little sound barrier. We heard neighbors on one side arguing. The occupants on the other side arrived very late and woke us up as they unwound from their exciting day of exploration.

Very friendly, accomodating and knowledgable staff. Undeniably a mystical location. With access to a "Viking Villiage" a short distane away, we walked back in time thru the mist where a Viking ship appeared. With a bit of imagination, we could sense the presence of our Viking ancestory.

Full restaurant for dinner would be nice but it was a great breakfast. Maybe they could pave their parking lot too.

The room was so new! You could still smell the fresh wood. Nice room. Great breakfast provided - they even had Canadian Maple Syrup. By staying there, we got to go to the Viking Village ruins and hike around the property. That was fun although it was raining, again! Too bad there was not a full restaurant for a good meal but we drove to Hofn and had an amazing dinner there at Otto. This is a great place and we highly recommend it!

The larger windows shows to a metal wall instead of the waterside, this is really weird. Therefore no view at all. The buling looks like a concrete bunker.

The location itself is great! Vestrahorn, beach, water, birds,... The room for 3 is really comfortable, modern and large.
