Reviews of Vinland Cottage

Great cottage with good facilities, good sized bedrooms and a patio. Shower was also excellent. Easy to find, check in, park and a short drive to the town. Stayed for two nights as a family.

One minor complaint was the smoke alarm was on the kitchen counter without a battery and we got no reply from the owner when we messaged about this.

The location was great. The beds were ok.

Poor maintenance, there was dirt under the sofas and there was garbage inside the garbage can. The living room floor had bumps. The owner didn’t answer the messages that we have sent him. There is a curtain between the two rooms instead of a door.

Ground floor hall was large and comfortable. The property is good for staying for larger groups of people, who can all sleep comfortably.

There was only one toilet bathroom provided for such a large cottage. The top floor beds could've been more comfortable and private. The lights can be brighter.

Very cosy, well equipped apartment. Right in the woods yet very close to the town. Supermarket available (5mins drive). Would surely recommend for a night stay along the ring road.

The 2nd bedroom has 2 single beds in one line with a curtain. So be prepared since the pictures are not very clear.

Very quiet location (almost feels like in a forest), just a few minutes away from the town and from the Vök Baths. Quaint little house that feels fairly spacious.

Bathroom was tiny, kitchen equipment is very used. Some people might have trouble with the fairly narrow and steep staircase to get to the bedrooms on the first floor. Living room feels a bit cramped.

The cutest little woodland cottage! It was so quiet and the surrounding woods are beautiful. The bonus was visiting the reindeer in the back! Very clean and comfortable. We wish we could’ve stayed a bit longer!

Location is great and it was clean. Had a good experience at the reindeer park at the property.

There was only 1 proper bedroom. There are 2 kore single beds in the upstairs lobby outside the room.

It’s worth the value. It’s beautiful outside of the cottage. The owner even has two reindeers !

If you sleep on the two twins beds on the hallway. It’s easy to get your heads bumped to the ceiling if you are adults.

The cottage is spacious and warm. The kitchen has got all the equipment that you would need. The shower has got strong pressure and hot water is very hot. There is a reindeer enclosure next to the cottage that you could visit free of charge. It is located just outside the city but near the Vok bath.

The bathroom is a bit small. The sleeping arrangement upstairs is a bit awkward with 2 single bed head to head.

The location was a good place to explore the area. It was clean, comfortable.

I assume that there is a requirement for security lights and they have to be on all the time. But it means that one of the beds is in area affected by the lights.

There was no soap in either of the containers for the shower or handbasin which was very poor. Also very little toilet paper we had to provide our own. Again very poor. We also had to track down the owner for fresh towels which were dropped off without stopping to enquire if we needed anything else. Again very poor.

Super cute little cottage. Kids loved playing outside in amongst the trees and met the adorable resident reindeer. The tv had Netflix which was an unexpected bonus.
