How guest reviews work
Each review score is between 1-10. To get the overall score that you see, we add up all the review scores we’ve received and divide that total by the number of review scores we’ve received. We use a weighted review system which means that the more recent the review, the bigger the impact on the total review score calculation. In addition, guests can give separate ‘subscores’ in crucial areas, such as location, cleanliness, staff, comfort, facilities, value for money and free Wi-Fi. Note that guests submit their subscores and their overall scores independently, so there’s no direct link between them.
You can review an Accommodation that you booked through our Platform if you stayed there or if you arrived at the property but didn’t actually stay there. To edit a review you’ve already submitted, please contact our Customer Service team.
We have people and automated systems that specialise in detecting fake reviews submitted to our Platform. If we find any, we delete them and, if necessary, take action against whoever is responsible.
Anyone else who spots something suspicious can always report it to our Customer Service team, so our Fraud team can investigate.
Ideally, we would publish every review we receive, whether positive or negative. However, we won’t display any review that includes or refers to (among other things):
- Politically sensitive comments
- Promotional content
- Illegal activities
- Personal or sensitive information (e.g. emails, phone numbers or credit card info)
- Swear words, sexual references, hate speech, discriminatory remarks, threats, or references to violence
- Spam and fake content
- Animal cruelty
- Impersonation (e.g. if the writer is claiming to be someone else)
- Any violation of our review guidelines.
To make sure reviews are relevant, we may only accept reviews that are submitted within 3 months of checking out, and we may stop showing reviews once they’re 36 months old – or if the Accommodation has a change of ownership.
An Accommodation may choose to reply to a review.
When you see multiple reviews, the most recent ones will be at the top, subject to a few other factors (what language a review is in, whether it’s just a rating or contains comments as well, etc.). If you like, you can sort and/or filter them (by time of year, review score, etc.).
We sometimes show external review scores from other well-known travel websites. We make it clear when we’ve done this.
Guidelines and standards for Reviews

Its equlevant to a motel, disappointed its advertised as a hotel and being sold at hotel price. It was last min booking and didn't have choices on a holiday weekend. I dont have vacation snaps of property due to its a motel and not cute to capture
Clean comfy bed, lavish hot and cold water, water pressure was excellent, heat was on point, pleasant staff. Felt safe.

We had our flights cancelled and need to find accommodation near the airport for one night for four of us. This was the only accommodation within 20km from the airport. The Manager was very helpful during our brief stay.

Bit pricey but may be due to its local lose to airport.
Location. Clean. Staff was excellent, Bjorn helped us with our stuff to take care for our early morning flight.

One story motel style place that was good for a quick overnight stay. No frills
We arrived late for a quick overnight stay before heading to airport early. Bedding was comfortable and the staff was very nice.

Really outdated The sink in the bathroom is so small you can't even fill in the kettle. And the bathroom is really small One of the bed was really too soft, really hard to sleep in it There are no spare sockets to plug your phone Breakfast at 20 USD!!!

The sound isolation is not so good. Especially when you sleep next to the shared bathroom you can hear everything.
Staff is very friendly. We had everything we needed (in terms of equipment). Quite lovely old hotel.

No milk for the tea and coffee! We had brought dried milk with us anyway so not a problem but I'm guessing it would have been provided if asked. There was no provision for evening meals. We found that several places in Iceland (even a large Reykjavik hotel!) didn't have restaurants, even if they provided breakfast in a dining area.
It was our first stop as it was fairly close to Keflavik airport. The accommodation is in motel style chalets which was quite nice. Room not especially modern but it gave character. Tea and coffee with a kettle provided (not all places in Iceland do this) Breakfast was fine - buffet style and reasonable choices. Owner was pleasant. There is a very good place to eat across the road - its name sounds Chinese, but it's not Chinese food. People there were very friendly

The place could have been cleaner. My paetners bed side looked a bit dirty.
We liked how close to the Airport Keflavik it is located. We arrived very early in the morning so it was convenient for us to stay and sleep close and then continue :)

We wound up with twin beds, which was okay for one night but not what I thought we would get for a couple.
The location worked well for us to get back to the airport, and the price was reasonable.

The shower tiles look like they needed work. The immediate surroundings weren’t pleasant.
Proximity to the airport . The reception man upgraded our accommodation to a family apartment, so thank you!!

We had booked the quadruple room with 4 single beds and the room was nice. It had a sofa and 2 tables in addition to the beds. There were 2 shared bathrooms and were well maintained. Also they had a microwave and a kettle that was kept in the shared space. We didn't had the kitchen but there's a Korean restaurant at 100m from the hotel that provides pizza and chicken wings. Mostly luckily we were able to see the live volcanic activities after a 10 mins drive towards blue lagoon.
