Reviews of Volcano Hotel

A extraordinary service and hotel chef. A special accommodation, not at all mainstream in best meaning.

Out of Vik in the countryside with great views and tranquility. Not far from Vik to enjoy activities, but far enough distant to be away. Room and common area clean and very Nordic. Breakfast was excellent- great choices and very good coffee. We had dinner at the hotel and it was excellent. Local ingredients in an Icelandic presentation. Not a lot of choices, but that can be a good thing. Staff was attentive and personable, while being professional.

The hotel is located on a pretty, quiet hillside, slightly away from the main road and is housed in a beautiful tiled building. The interior was nice Our room was spacious, neat and well-lit The bed was comfortable. The bathroom was of adequate size; it was clean and had adequate toiletries and neat towels The breakfast was wholesome and nice. When we checked in late at night, there were no members of the staff available at the desk but, that evening, they had sent us adequate, clear directions by email on how to check in by ourselves. We did so without any hitch.

Really nice hotel located just before the town of Vik very close to the main road, but away from it enough not to hear any cars! While seems basic, the rooms are very comfortable and "roomy" to have a good stay! They have a small menu with on-demand dinner, and oh boy that was one of the most tastiest Char fish I have ever had - delicious!

Overall was all good, the only thing breakfast selection is too small!

It was not clean especially the bath room. It was quite costly.

The room was large and very clean. We ate dinner at the hotel and it was very good, as was breakfast. The staff were very helpful.

Good location near Vik.

Very limited dinner menu so we dined elsewhere. They did provide laundry service but reluctantly. Laundry is listed as an available service but we were told they stopped offering it a year ago.

Room was clean and very spacious. I appreciated the small refrigerator. Beds were comfortable and black out curtains worked very well . Breakfast was satisfactory. Property was peaceful and quiet.

The room was lovely and had loads of space, the staff were friendy and helpful. The dinner we had was lovely and it was a nice touch to have freshly prepared scrambled eggs at breakfast.

The room was nice with a beautiful view. Breakfast was basic but ok.

Apart from a young guy at check in who did not offer much in the way of a 'warm welcome' I did not see any other staff. I didn't expect the Hilton but I stayed in 6 hotels in Iceland and this was the most expensive by some margin. Booking.com states it has a bar. It does not.

Volcano Hotel did not have secure wifi, so we could not take advantage of it.

Very spacious, staff was very friendly, location was great for sight seeing! My child sleep on a makeshift bed that was a little hard. One of the staff brought her something like an egg crate while we were out and made the bed up for her! Breakfast was breads, jams, eggs, coffee… just right for the morning.

The staff is awesome, and the breakfast is exceptional. I like that it was outside the city a little but still close to everything.
