“This hostel in Pontboset was one of the best places we stayed during our family trip. The atmosphere of this tiny, beautiful village is absolutely stunning – like traveling back to medieval times. Wandering through its narrow passages and stairways is truly exciting, with unique stone bridges over the stream waiting to be discovered. Many buildings in the village are no longer in the best shape, which actually adds to the overall charm. At 780 meters, the location is surrounded by exceptionally beautiful nature ready to be explored. The hostel itself, well-renovated, offers very clean rooms that still harmonize authentically with the village’s historic character. From our windows, we could watch children playing hide-and-seek in the small town square, even deciding to wash the cobblestones afterwards – a rare and charming sight. Our host was wonderfully kind, welcoming us despite our late arrival and sharing knowledge about the area. We would love to come back!”
“In a place filled with history you can find La Louye su la Goumba. Next to impressive ruins of 19th century houses, the lovely owners have renovated this house to have a small restaurant/bar and 2 very charming, comfortable and spacious rooms. On top of the amazing views, the ideal location for hikes and the good food and drinks (both at breakfast and dinner), you just feel very welcomed by the gentle people. We only stayed 3 nights, but will remember this stay for a long time.”
“This small, secluded house in the mountains was the perfect getaway. The modern room looked exactly as shown in the pictures, beautifully decorated. There are hiking trails right outside the door, offering breathtaking views of the surrounding nature. The staff was incredibly friendly – we arrived a bit early, and they kindly let us in so we could change into our hiking clothes. When we returned late from our hike the next evening, the restaurant was already closed, but they prepared a quick pasta and dessert for us. The dinner was truly gourmet – everything was incredibly delicious. The breakfast was simple but tasty. Highly recommend this place! Staff speaks italian and french, no english. But we managed with the help of google translator:-)”
