How guest reviews work
Each review score is between 1-10. To get the overall score that you see, we add up all the review scores we’ve received and divide that total by the number of review scores we’ve received. We use a weighted review system which means that the more recent the review, the bigger the impact on the total review score calculation. In addition, guests can give separate ‘subscores’ in crucial areas, such as location, cleanliness, staff, comfort, facilities, value for money and free Wi-Fi. Note that guests submit their subscores and their overall scores independently, so there’s no direct link between them.
You can review an Accommodation that you booked through our Platform if you stayed there or if you arrived at the property but didn’t actually stay there. To edit a review you’ve already submitted, please contact our Customer Service team.
We have people and automated systems that specialise in detecting fake reviews submitted to our Platform. If we find any, we delete them and, if necessary, take action against whoever is responsible.
Anyone else who spots something suspicious can always report it to our Customer Service team, so our Fraud team can investigate.
Ideally, we would publish every review we receive, whether positive or negative. However, we won’t display any review that includes or refers to (among other things):
- Politically sensitive comments
- Promotional content
- Illegal activities
- Personal or sensitive information (e.g. emails, phone numbers or credit card info)
- Swear words, sexual references, hate speech, discriminatory remarks, threats, or references to violence
- Spam and fake content
- Animal cruelty
- Impersonation (e.g. if the writer is claiming to be someone else)
- Any violation of our review guidelines.
To make sure reviews are relevant, we may only accept reviews that are submitted within 3 months of checking out, and we may stop showing reviews once they’re 36 months old – or if the Accommodation has a change of ownership.
An Accommodation may choose to reply to a review.
When you see multiple reviews, the most recent ones will be at the top, subject to a few other factors (what language a review is in, whether it’s just a rating or contains comments as well, etc.). If you like, you can sort and/or filter them (by time of year, review score, etc.).
We sometimes show external review scores from other well-known travel websites. We make it clear when we’ve done this.
Guidelines and standards for Reviews
These guidelines and standards aim to keep the content on Booking.com relevant and family-friendly without limiting expression of strong opinions. They are also applicable regardless of the sentiment of the comment.
Contributions should be travel related. The most helpful contributions are detailed and help others make better decisions. Please don’t include personal, political, ethical, or religious commentary. Contributions should be appropriate for a global audience. Please avoid using profanity or attempts to approximate profanity with creative spelling, in any language. All content should be genuine and unique to the guest. Reviews are most valuable when they are original and unbiased. Your contribution should be yours. Booking.com property partners should not post on behalf of guests or offer incentives in exchange for reviews. Attempts to bring down the rating of a competitor by submitting a negative review will not be tolerated.
Respect the privacy of others. Booking.com will make an effort to obscure email addresses, telephone numbers, website addresses, social media accounts, and similar details.

As not all visitors are LGBTQ, it would be great if they do not hang pictures of gay men or their regalia in the room.
Very central location, close to all major attractions. The rooms were clean, and I was grateful for the extra blankets.

Very good B&B! The manager, Mario, is very nice and available. The place has everything one might need, it is clean and close to the center, which is very convenient. I will be back for sure!

My AC was broken during a record-breaking heatwave, and despite multiple requests to have someone look at it, I spent three nights baking in a room that had no large windows to open for ventilation. I asked if there was a fan somewhere in the apartment that I could use, and simply received no response. I finally saw someone who worked at the place on my final day, when the new person checking into my room noticed the AC was not on and complained. The assumption during a whatsapp exchange of messages was that I did not know how to turn the ac on. I had turned it on. The problem was the unit. The place could be great, and had it all worked, I would never give it a 5 rating, but this was a horrible and dangerous example of customer management.
The best location--walkable to everything in the city, and to the trains and busses to visit other parts of the Salento. Good room: tidy, clean, orderly, and good apartment with patio spaces and kitchen facilities.

It’s impossible to sleep here, the front door opens directly onto a bar that blasts music on a Thursday and Friday night until 2-4am. There is a window above the front door that cannot be closed, therefore you can hear every conversation, door slam, glass break despite wearing AirPods to sleep. This accomodation would be great if you are wanting to drink and party all night though - it’s right on your literal doorstep! Upon booking, owners sent a 24 dot point list of rules and regulations. It felt excessive and not welcoming at all. The unit itself had posters warning guests about leaving any dishes in sink or not taking the bin bag out, each of which “crime” will cost you €50!! We are tidy guests and we felt too nervous to touch any of the kitchen equipment in the off chance these hosts would find a way to charge us. The fridge is also warm, didn’t work during our stay despite us informing the host.
Located in central Lecce, about ten minute walk from train station. Access property via key box. Spacious clean apartment. Cafes and shops nearby

The power kept turning off. The heating unit didn't work. We told the staff member that it wouldn't work and he blamed us for the power outages even though the only electricity we were using at the time was to charge our phones. He said he will come and talk to us the next day and send a technician in to fix the heating. Neither of them turned up to fix it. Lucky there was a separate bar heater otherwise we would have froze. The room was old and could have been a bit cleaner. Not wnough hooks or shelves to hang towels or clothes.
The location was excellent!

Location! Location! Location. 7 minute walk from the train station (if you arrived by public transport). right in the old and beautiful part of the city. 3-minute leisurely walk to Domo 6 minute walk to the cathedral ,minutes walk to every attraction in the center. Large room, large and spacious common spaces, all modern and current equipment (washing machine, oven, coffee machine, refrigerator, electric stove, stationary computer, smart TV, utensils for eating) is installed in the apartment. check-in independently so you can arrive at any time , no elevator ,about 10 stairs in total. everything is clean, tidy and maintained
