Each review score is between 1-10. To get the overall score that you see, we add up all the review scores we’ve received and divide that total by the number of review scores we’ve received. We use a weighted review system which means that the more recent the review, the bigger the impact on the total review score calculation. In addition, guests can give separate ‘subscores’ in crucial areas, such as location, cleanliness, staff, comfort, facilities, value for money and free Wi-Fi. Note that guests submit their subscores and their overall scores independently, so there’s no direct link between them.
You can review an Accommodation that you booked through our Platform if you stayed there or if you arrived at the property but didn’t actually stay there. To edit a review you’ve already submitted, please contact our Customer Service team.
We have people and automated systems that specialise in detecting fake reviews submitted to our Platform. If we find any, we delete them and, if necessary, take action against whoever is responsible.
Anyone else who spots something suspicious can always report it to our Customer Service team, so our Fraud team can investigate.
Ideally, we would publish every review we receive, whether positive or negative. However, we won’t display any review that includes or refers to (among other things):
To make sure reviews are relevant, we may only accept reviews that are submitted within 3 months of checking out, and we may stop showing reviews once they’re 36 months old – or if the Accommodation has a change of ownership.
An Accommodation may choose to reply to a review.
When you see multiple reviews, the most recent ones will be at the top, subject to a few other factors (what language a review is in, whether it’s just a rating or contains comments as well, etc.). If you like, you can sort and/or filter them (by time of year, review score, etc.).
We sometimes show external review scores from other well-known travel websites. We make it clear when we’ve done this.
These guidelines and standards aim to keep the content on Booking.com relevant and family-friendly without limiting expression of strong opinions. They are also applicable regardless of the sentiment of the comment.
Contributions should be travel related. The most helpful contributions are detailed and help others make better decisions. Please don’t include personal, political, ethical, or religious commentary. Promotional content will be removed and issues concerning Booking.com’s services should be routed to our Customer Service or Accommodation Service teams.
Contributions should be appropriate for a global audience. Please avoid using profanity or attempts to approximate profanity with creative spelling, in any language. Comments and media that include 'hate speech', discriminatory remarks, threats, sexually explicit remarks, violence, and the promotion of illegal activity are not permitted.
All content should be genuine and unique to the guest. Reviews are most valuable when they are original and unbiased. Your contribution should be yours. Booking.com property partners should not post on behalf of guests or offer incentives in exchange for reviews. Attempts to bring down the rating of a competitor by submitting a negative review will not be tolerated.
Respect the privacy of others. Booking.com will make an effort to obscure email addresses, telephone numbers, website addresses, social media accounts, and similar details.
The opinions expressed in contributions are those of Booking.com customers and properties and not of Booking.com. Booking.com does not accept responsibility or liability for any reviews or responses. Booking.com is a distributor (without any obligation to verify) and not a publisher of these comments and responses.
By default, reviews are sorted based on the date of the review and on additional criteria to display the most relevant reviews, including but not limited to: your language, reviews with text, and non-anonymous reviews. Additional sorting options may be available (by type of traveller, by score, etc.).

SlovakiaThe walls were completely paper thin. In the evening around 11pm when we went to bed someone rang the bell and everything could be heard. Then the stuff who accommodated other guests had a minor exchange of opinions and it was impossible to sleep at all. The stuff who accommodated us was not the nicest twice. When we arrived we rang the bell, but nothing, so I called him and we couldn't understand anything at all. When he came he started asking us if we didn't know what two minutes meant, even though I told him that I didn't understand anything on the phone.

TunisiaIn the city of art and design, one would expect a well designed place, and it was not the case. It's poorly furnished. But it serves the purpose. In our last day, a staff opened the door on us inadvertently without knocking. We did not like that.
The place was extremely clean and comfortable, very close to Termini station and metro and bus.

Polandmold in the corner of the room hidden behind the table and same in the bathroom. I left a charger behind and despite coming back to pick it up as owner requested after discussing time - they could not find it, even though they stated it was found during cleaning process. Not speaking staff is a huge issue. They did not seem to care to communicate with you, using at least google translator. Very late and short messages from the owner abotu any questions, sometimes did not answer questions unless u asked second time.

PolandApartment is very close to Termini station, where most of people will arrive from airport if you are taking a bus or train. It takes only 4 minutes to get to apartment from the station. The apartment itself is located 15 minutes walk from city center, location is excellent, you don’t need to use public transport. Room was clean, spacious, bed comfortable, we also had small balcony, which was nice. There’s tv with connection to Netflix, wi-fi worked well. I know Rome very well and I felt safe in this area. The communication with the owner was a bit challenging, which caused a bit of stress. I suggest you call both numbers, sending messages is not reccomended. It takes a while for water to heat up in the bathroom.

AustraliaVery hard uncomfortable mattress compared to 11 other places we have stayed at on this extended holiday (would be remedied with a pillow mattress topper). Unclear check in instructions left us standing outside in rain for 30 minutes even though we had advised arrival time (check in person was apologetic). Noise penetration from adjoining rooms/units caused consistent sleep disturbance. Very poor water pressure so trickle shower. Cord in the shower needed to activate hot water was very dirty. Otherwise the room was clean. Some inclusions in room description were actually not in the room but in a shared common area.
Great location with 5 minute walk to Termini station- trains and airport shuttle. Close to Santa Maria Maggiore, eating options and supermarkets. Clean and freshly painted room. Secure building. Staff were helpful and courteous. Would stay there again if dislikes were addressed. Please note that Rome tourist tax is now a hefty 7€ per person per night and needs to be paid up front, in cash, at check in.

United KingdomBear in mind the room we stayed in is separated from another room just with a door. There’s no solid wall between them. I guess these rooms used to be of the same apartment and now are rented out separately. So noise isolation is close to zero. If you get noisy neighbours as we did it’s as if you are sitting next to them. Can hear every word and move. Generally the property is very tired, bathroom needs renovation. Water takes ages to get warm and the drain doesn’t work properly
Location is ok, clean bedsheets and towels

Czech RepublicA lot of noise from other rooms/hall. You have to wait for the host to check in, who was at our case late - which is also an inconvience at night as we heard a ring many times before the host came.
You can leave the luggage before check in or after check out - before check in we already could put it in our room, but after check out you leave it at the reception with no person there to look after it.

GreeceEven though ithe location was convenient for my visit in Rome (a conference near the university (15' distance) , it is not the best location for a holiday in Rome, especially during the night. However this is the case almost everywhere near Termini.
It was a plain spacious room, with renovated bathroom, and silent air-conditioning, that it was extremely useful during hot late August in Rome. Also the mini fridge was useful too. During this period it was a great value, compared with prices elsewhere in the city. If someone is a medieval archaeology enthusiast, the room is just one block away from the basilica of Santa Maria Maggiore and Santa Prassede.

United StatesThe shower was small and the drain was slow, thus there was standing water in the shower for a few minutes after the shower was completed.
As far as we could tell, there was no breakfast available however we left very early in the morning and breakfast may not have been out at that point. The location was perfect as it was a few minutes walk from Rome Termini The hosts were very friendly and accommodating. We arrived much earlier than originally planned and we were allowed to put our suitcases into our room while they finished the cleaning. This was very helpful to us.

EgyptFirst, let me say that I understand this is a small family business, not a hotel or hostel, which is very acceptable to me. However, the issue here is that a family business serving tourists, in my opinion, should enhance their level of professionalism and awareness of how to deal with tourism and tourists from all over the world. Arriving to the place: As usual, I used Google to arrive at the place, but the pin drop on Google Maps was slightly wrong, leading me to call them on WhatsApp. The response I received was "One moment," and they hung up on me.After holding a big hiking bag in the streets for 5 minutes, I messaged them. They replied, "Yes, please press on the Intercom," but the picture I sent didn't have their name on it. They responded, "Wrong place," and provided the correct building number, which is building 29.Upon entering the correct building, I messaged them again on WhatsApp, asking "Which Floor." Language barrier: A place in Rome listed on booking for tourists to choose from must have owners who can speak a universal language such as English. However, the owners lacked proficiency in English, despite not being Italian. I understand from other reviews that this might come across as rudeness and toughness when dealing with tourists. Although I understood this, at least a smile during communication would have eased things and alleviated minor problems. When I reached the first floor, the man who had been speaking to me on WhatsApp informed me that the room wasn't ready yet and asked me to come back in 1 hour. I was surprised, as I had already informed them via Booking that I would arrive at 12 or 1 PM. This led to negotiations with another woman about which room they would accommodate me in. Let's talk about the coldness I experienced when entering the room.
The room is spacious, with a queen-sized bed and an additional small one. It includes a small fridge and a well-sized bathroom. The bed is very comfortable. The room and outside kitchen area are very clean. The bathroom is also very clean and neat. The location is very close to Roma Termini station, only a 6-minute walk away. The Wi-Fi connection is good. The neighborhood offers affordable prices. The neighborhood features one of the important churches.
