Read more– opens a dialog boxEach review score is between 1 and 10. To get the overall score you see, we add up all the review scores we’ve received and divide that total by the number of them. We use a weighted review system, which means the more recent the review, the bigger the impact on the total review score calculation. Guests can also give separate “subscores” in crucial areas like location, cleanliness, staff, comfort, facilities, value, and free Wifi. Note that guests submit their subscores and overall scores independently, so there’s no direct link between them.
You can review an accommodation that you booked through our platform if you stayed there, or if you got to the property but didn’t actually stay there. To edit a review you’ve already submitted, contact our Customer Service team.
We have people and automated systems that specialize in detecting fake reviews submitted to our platform. If we find any, we delete them and, if necessary, take action against whoever is responsible.
Anyone who spots something suspicious can always report it to our Customer Service team so that our fraud team can investigate.
Ideally, we'd publish every review we get, positive and negative. However, we won’t display any reviews that include or refer to (among other things):
To make sure reviews are relevant, we may only accept reviews that are submitted within 3 months of checking out. We may stop showing reviews once they’re 36 months old, or if the accommodation has a change of ownership.
An accommodation can reply to a review.
When you see multiple reviews, the most recent ones will be at the top, subject to a few other factors (e.g. language, whether it’s just a rating or contains comments as well, etc.). You can sort and/or filter them by time of year, review score, and more.
Sometimes we show external review scores from other well-known travel websites, but make it clear when we do this.
These guidelines and standards aim to keep the content on Booking.com relevant and family-friendly, without limiting expression or strong opinions. They're also applicable regardless of the comment's tone.
Contributions should be travel related. The most helpful contributions are detailed and help others make better decisions. Please don’t include personal, political, ethical, or religious commentary. Promotional content will be removed and issues concerning Booking.com’s services should be routed to our Customer Service or Accommodation Service teams.
Contributions should be appropriate for a global audience. Please avoid using profanity or attempts to approximate profanity with creative spelling, in any language. Comments and media that include hate speech, discriminatory remarks, threats, sexually explicit remarks, violence, or the promotion of illegal activity are not permitted.
All content should be genuine and unique to the guest. Reviews are most valuable when they are original and unbiased. Your contribution should be yours. Booking.com property partners should not post on behalf of guests or offer incentives in exchange for reviews. Attempts to bring down the rating of a competitor by submitting a negative review will not be tolerated.
Respect the privacy of others. Booking.com will make an effort to obscure email addresses, telephone numbers, website addresses, social media accounts, and other similar details.
The opinions expressed in contributions are those of Booking.com customers and properties, and not of Booking.com. Booking.com does not accept responsibility or liability for any reviews or responses. By default, reviews are sorted based on the date of the review and on additional criteria to display the most relevant reviews, including but not limited to: your language, reviews with text, and non-anonymous reviews. Additional sorting options might be available (by type of traveler, by score, etc...).

United StatesTHE BEST VIEW!!! This place was perfect. The space was super clean, the bathroom was big, comfortable and clean. The shower was great, water pressure and temperature was perfect. Paolo was so welcoming, helpful, professional and attentive. Like anywhere in Cinque Terre if you want this view you will need to walk up some stairs. Overall 10/10!

United StatesBeautiful view. Very clean. Big bathroom. Nice balcony. Area beautiful. AC works well. Description very clear about the steps up. Do not under appreciate that fact. We are both able and not unfit. Much more fun at first than by the end. Vernazza is small. Even though the place is by the water, the furthest point from the train station, it’s about 5 minute walk. Bottom of the steps empties onto the main piazza-Beautiful! This particular unit being so high up is not without benefit. Before we went, I read about Gianni Franzi and the deck being a must for a pre-dinner drink. Walked out to leave first night and 20’ from the unit is the Gianni Franzi deck. What a stunning intro to Vernazza! If you stay at this unit, you can’t miss out on that!! Only thing is the balcony is narrow and the AC unit on the balcony, when on, blows warm air onto the chair by the table. Overall 9/10 because I’m tough to give a 10. Paolo very nice and welcoming. Place very nice. Vernazza a sweet spot in Cinque Terre. Big recommend!

FinlandNot a problem for us, but the stairs all the way up to the property can be tricky for some. Everything else we loved!
Location is perfect for exploring the beautiful Cinque Terre. Paolo was a fantastic host, everything worked so well and the room was nice, modern and clean.

It’s small but perfect for sleeping / bathroom. We didn’t spend too much time in the room but it was clean and the AC works great. They were so nice and even helped us with our bags! We counted the steps it’s 110 steps to get to the room which was a cool unique experience

Location and the view couldn’t be any better really nice staff and host. Very accommodating with all the stairs by helping bring up my luggage since I had twisted my ankle in Florance.

IrelandInternal walls were paper thin - could hear everything form next door and thankfully they weren't noisy after 10pm. Bedside lamps are fairly blinding, but that is nitpicking.
Location is perfect, and the views are fantastic. Bed was comfortable. Mini fridge is ideal. Bathroom looks to be recently updated and is spotlessly clean and modern. Checking in and out with Paolo/Marco was very easy - they were flexible in letting us check in early. Really enjoyable stay!

SingaporeIt was tough carrying the suitcases up the stairs to the building & then again up the stairs to the apartment itself! Fortunately we read some reviews before booking & downsized our suitcases & left one in our car in La Spezia, otherwise it would have been tough for me.
Location & the view was great from our balcony, however, the place was a bit hard to find. The bathroom is super spacious! The stay was comfy. The bedroom was pretty basic.

United StatesThe steps to get to the room. They’re tolerable though especially considering the amazing view you get. We paid $10 each for portage to get our large suitcases up to the room(worth it) but were able to bring all our luggage down ourselves manageably.
Breathtaking view of Vernazza from the property and a great balcony to enjoy the view with your morning coffee or afternoon drinks at. The host Paolo is a great guy, who is super helpful and was very responsive to our questions. Paolo also has a great gelato shop just down the stairs(some of the best gelato I had during a 2 week stay in Italy where I got gelato constantly). The actual room is spacious, clean, and accommodating. Would 100% stay here again.

AustraliaThis was the most amazing location in Vernazza. We had the Benedetto room and it had a small balcony overlooking the harbour. The room was spacious and spotlessly clean. There is a downside to having a room with spectacular views and that means a zillion steps to get there. We had extraordinarily big and heavy suitcases and I cannot believe, or thank, Paolo enough for carrying them up the 8ish flights of stairs. He just popped the 28kg suitcase oh his shoulder and humped it up the stairs. Absolute legend. Suggest if you can, secure your cases in a locker somewhere and only bring an overnight bag for the Vernazza leg if you are travelling for a long time trip and have large suitcases. You can organise a porter to jump your suitcases for you for 19 euro a bag. Which is well worth the money. Don’t miss having sunset drinks at the bar on the deck next door.

United StatesThe space was quite tight. It would be best for one person, rather than two, but it worked. It is also quite scuffed up. Would be nice to see a fresh coat of paint.
Paolo was super nice and great with communication. The place was just what we needed.

New ZealandPaulo was a great host. He carried our heavy suitcase up the (many) steps, and helped out when a train strike meant we had to stay an extra night (no hardship in Vernazza!). The view from the room was unbelievable. We enjoyed sitting out on the terrace and watching the plaza and the harbour below. A great stay all round.

We loved our stay at this apartment. It is a renovated apartment with a beautiful bathroom, working internet and AC and of course the view! You just don't get tired of the beautiful view. It has a small balcony with a couple of chairs so you can sit and enjoy it.

United StatesStairs are tedious but worth it.
Room was clean and comfortable. We were a group of 3 and there was enough room for a couple of nights together. The balcony is small but really nice to have. Great views. Good location in town. There are a lot of stairs to go up and down but in return there are the nice views. Bathroom was large and clean. No issues.
