How guest reviews work
Each review score is between 1-10. To get the overall score that you see, we add up all the review scores we’ve received and divide that total by the number of review scores we’ve received. We use a weighted review system which means that the more recent the review, the bigger the impact on the total review score calculation. In addition, guests can give separate ‘subscores’ in crucial areas, such as location, cleanliness, staff, comfort, facilities, value for money and free Wi-Fi. Note that guests submit their subscores and their overall scores independently, so there’s no direct link between them.
You can review an Accommodation that you booked through our Platform if you stayed there or if you arrived at the property but didn’t actually stay there. To edit a review you’ve already submitted, please contact our Customer Service team.
We have people and automated systems that specialise in detecting fake reviews submitted to our Platform. If we find any, we delete them and, if necessary, take action against whoever is responsible.
Anyone else who spots something suspicious can always report it to our Customer Service team, so our Fraud team can investigate.
Ideally, we would publish every review we receive, whether positive or negative. However, we won’t display any review that includes or refers to (among other things):
- Politically sensitive comments
- Promotional content
- Illegal activities
- Personal or sensitive information (e.g. emails, phone numbers or credit card info)
- Swear words, sexual references, hate speech, discriminatory remarks, threats, or references to violence
- Spam and fake content
- Animal cruelty
- Impersonation (e.g. if the writer is claiming to be someone else)
- Any violation of our review guidelines.
To make sure reviews are relevant, we may only accept reviews that are submitted within 3 months of checking out, and we may stop showing reviews once they’re 36 months old – or if the Accommodation has a change of ownership.
An Accommodation may choose to reply to a review.
When you see multiple reviews, the most recent ones will be at the top, subject to a few other factors (what language a review is in, whether it’s just a rating or contains comments as well, etc.). If you like, you can sort and/or filter them (by time of year, review score, etc.).
We sometimes show external review scores from other well-known travel websites. We make it clear when we’ve done this.
Guidelines and standards for Reviews
These guidelines and standards aim to keep the content on Booking.com relevant and family-friendly without limiting expression of strong opinions. They are also applicable regardless of the sentiment of the comment.

Respect the privacy of others. Booking.com will make an effort to obscure email addresses, telephone numbers, website addresses, social media accounts, and similar details.

Because the kitchen was shared with all the apartments, it was quite noisy during late and early hours.

Great stay from check in to check out, great location easy to walk to all the attractions. In a lovely quiet area. The owners were fantastic getting back to us within minutes with any questions we had, I would recommend this property for a stay in Pisa, we took a taxis back to the airport they arrange everything for us, 10 out 10 stay.

The only thing that let the place down was that the WiFi did not work. We were not reliant on this so it did not ruin our stay. Unfortunately we arrived really late at accomodation late on a Sunday, and no food available in local area as everything was closed.
Room was spotless, and in good repair. Lovely shower. Twin beds were great for my daughter and me. Location was great, walk to Tower was easy. Check in was really easy. Key safes are a great idea. Vending machine had beer and snacks.

We had great time in Pisa! The apartment's location is excellent- most of the attractions are just a short walk away. The room was clean and comfortable, we had clean towels everyday. We also had access to the kitchen-with a big fridge and some breakfast snacks for free. The option to drop off your luggage on both arrival and departure days, despite the regular check-in and check-out hours, is a huge convenience! And last but not least, оur host Francesco was amazing! It was very easy to communicate, and he answered all our questions! We got some great tips and awesome recommendations from him!

The accommodation is located just outside the walls of the old city. The room is large with a nice bathroom and a comfortable bed. In a quiet neighborhood. We thank the host who, although we did not have direct contact, had left us a welcome gift of local wine and gave us all the information we needed. There is a shared kitchen with everything we needed.

Very clean! Amazing for the price. Did not seem like a 2 star more like 3+. Nice wine left as a gift by owner. Room lovely and spacious. Self check-in option very convenient.

Nothing, it really was ideal.
The check in was extremely smooth, the room was large, amazing shower and very comfortable bed. The Air-con worked well and even with the windows open it was a quiet area (restaurants within walking distance though).

Happy with the owner, easy and hassle free accomodation, host was very helpful. Helped with the luggage and also calles us a cab even. Warm and welcoming and the complimentary snacks were the cheeey on top!

The rooms could be cleaner, the dishes were not clean.
I liked the hospitality of the host. He welcomed us really friendly and gave us useful information about the town. The suite was modern. The location is really good as you can reach the centre on foot within 15 minutes. Check in was easy and check out as well. A vending machine is in the house which was practical. The host provided coffee and tea, and some sweets for free. He even brought us bottled water since we couldn't accept the wine he gave us as a present.
