There is a lock on the bedroom door, but no lock on the entrance to the floor. While we didn't experience any problems, I would feel more secure if there was a chain or some kind of latch on the inside of the door to the room landing. At night you'd have to lock the bedroom door, which is problematic if you need to use the bathroom across the hall. Still recommend the property.

The host was responsive and accommodated an early check in. We were met at the train station and greeted before I even got the message off. The room is on the second floor which requires climbing a flight of steep stairs so it may not be suitable for all. We only had back packs so not an issue. The space is essentially three rooms - a bedroom with a balcony, and a private bathroom separated by a small landing (hallway) holding a table, fridge and coffee maker. The balcony overlooks the main street in town. Great for people watching. It was amazingly quiet despite being on the main street just about 100 meters from the train staion. Bed was comfortable and the water pressure strong. It was a fun little place to stay for the night on our hike through the Cinque Terre.

Train noise from the station that’s really close, and the room is sort of detached from the bathroom seperated by a common area that the staff use for cleaning and laundry. We didn’t like having the staff in our space while we were trying to chill on a rainy day.

Epic location right on the Main Street, we loved the place itself and being ontop of the restaurants. The train noise was pretty loud from the tracks though.

Steep stair climb. The "good" rating for the facilities was a little generous , but the owners did their best with the limitations of a very old building.

Only 300 m from the train station steps in between 2 souvenir shops. Having a balcony was a bonus, Very close to the sea front, plenty of restaurants in the area.

The stairs are quite steep and treads are narrow. This could be an issue for some.

Location was a mixed blessing. Close to the train station and on the main street. Drawback was the train noise which was greatly reduced if you kept the window closed. Otherwise, it was close to everything, clean, had a mini fridge.

if you visit Cinque Terre, then my opinion is Vernazza is the place to stay. Charming, beautiful, lots of places to eat, and great walks in both directions. This apartment is terrific, right on the Main Street and a very short minute walk from the station. Walk downstairs for breakfast lunch or dinner on your doorstep. location is great and a good price. no water views but you are in the middle of town. the town is quiet in the evenings. Gabriella is very helpful. The apartment is small , as are most, but has a landing area between the bedroom and bathroom which is great for luggage. lastly is has a great balcony - take out some wine and people watch!! a great place, loved it.

Rudeness abuse and greed . Before I arrived there were several automatic emails advertising HIKES in Cinque Terre Obviously trying to extract more money … endless offers of this ‘hikimg’

No breakfast No help with any normal problems - eg The tv suddenly stopped - after one hour only. I phoned the owner and cleaning lady … The owner was afraid it would cost MONEY / a technician. But it was obviously just a minor problem and it CAME ON BY itself when I was leaving. The owner wouldn’t answer phone - except to abuse me and say - when I had a full day of $152 euros remaining ‘IF YOU DON’T like it you can leave’ - and she said I would have to pay for ‘broken tv’!!! No service of any kind. Misrepresentation and lies. I’ve travelled the world - rudest host by far. Unbelievable Just one person - the cleaning lady - who often was told not to answer phone.

Train noise. Steep steps to enter. Early rubbish collection was noisy. Mould in showers but perhaps due to no sunlight or poor air circulation.

The bed and pillows were very firm, the room was super hot even when the temperatures had cooled in late September. There was a great big fan which helped a little, but it was too noisy outside to leave the windows open at night.

The owner of the hotel did not guide us correctly. She asked us to walk from the car park to the city center around 20 minutes (she didn't even know that the car park had a free transfer to the center finally we found ourselves and transfered to center by car via using car park transfer). Even though she knew we were going to have a late check-in and asked for a place to eat, she didn't say the restaurants would close at 10pm and we were starving! Also, we didn't like the overly prescriptive warnings. (Don't do it, you will pay the following amount of euros, if you use it too much, you have money to pay.). In addition, the owner of the hotel should know more about the environment and transportation facilities. All in all an average hotel.
