Each review score is between 1-10. To get the overall score that you see, we add up all the review scores we’ve received and divide that total by the number of review scores we’ve received. We use a weighted review system which means that the more recent the review, the bigger the impact on the total review score calculation. In addition, guests can give separate ‘subscores’ in crucial areas, such as location, cleanliness, staff, comfort, facilities, value for money and free Wi-Fi. Note that guests submit their subscores and their overall scores independently, so there’s no direct link between them.
You can review an Accommodation that you booked through our Platform if you stayed there or if you arrived at the property but didn’t actually stay there. To edit a review you’ve already submitted, please contact our Customer Service team.
We have people and automated systems that specialise in detecting fake reviews submitted to our Platform. If we find any, we delete them and, if necessary, take action against whoever is responsible.
Anyone else who spots something suspicious can always report it to our Customer Service team, so our Fraud team can investigate.
Ideally, we would publish every review we receive, whether positive or negative. However, we won’t display any review that includes or refers to (among other things):
To make sure reviews are relevant, we may only accept reviews that are submitted within 3 months of checking out, and we may stop showing reviews once they’re 36 months old – or if the Accommodation has a change of ownership.
An Accommodation may choose to reply to a review.
When you see multiple reviews, the most recent ones will be at the top, subject to a few other factors (what language a review is in, whether it’s just a rating or contains comments as well, etc.). If you like, you can sort and/or filter them (by time of year, review score, etc.).
We sometimes show external review scores from other well-known travel websites. We make it clear when we’ve done this.
These guidelines and standards aim to keep the content on Booking.com relevant and family-friendly without limiting expression of strong opinions. They are also applicable regardless of the sentiment of the comment.
Contributions should be travel related. The most helpful contributions are detailed and help others make better decisions. Please don’t include personal, political, ethical, or religious commentary. Promotional content will be removed and issues concerning Booking.com’s services should be routed to our Customer Service or Accommodation Service teams.
Contributions should be appropriate for a global audience. Please avoid using profanity or attempts to approximate profanity with creative spelling, in any language. Comments and media that include 'hate speech', discriminatory remarks, threats, sexually explicit remarks, violence, and the promotion of illegal activity are not permitted.
All content should be genuine and unique to the guest. Reviews are most valuable when they are original and unbiased. Your contribution should be yours. Booking.com property partners should not post on behalf of guests or offer incentives in exchange for reviews. Attempts to bring down the rating of a competitor by submitting a negative review will not be tolerated.
Respect the privacy of others. Booking.com will make an effort to obscure email addresses, telephone numbers, website addresses, social media accounts, and similar details.
The opinions expressed in contributions are those of Booking.com customers and properties and not of Booking.com. Booking.com does not accept responsibility or liability for any reviews or responses. Booking.com is a distributor (without any obligation to verify) and not a publisher of these comments and responses.
By default, reviews are sorted based on the date of the review and on additional criteria to display the most relevant reviews, including but not limited to: your language, reviews with text, and non-anonymous reviews. Additional sorting options may be available (by type of traveller, by score, etc.).

IsraelBreakfast was very basic. Not a lot of options. Also as the building is a restored building, the elevator is very small and chlostrophobic
Location and staff were very helpful

United StatesNothing serious. The shower stalls are small, so are the elevators. But this is a great value for the price.
Rooms are comfortable, there is a restaurant on site. The breakfast is outstanding with good options for healthy eating. The staff go out of the way to be helpful. The location is quite convenient, short walk to most locations in Venice, and yet a bit distant from the crowds of tourists. Close to the Zerrare stop on the waterboat lines. The rooms have good AC and temperature control.

AlbaniaThe staff at the breakfast room was very noisy, having continuous conversation. Shower was very small. Internet connection was not stable.
Reception staff was very friendly. Room was clean. The hotel is well positioned and easily accessible near the Academia Bridge. There is welcome drinks in the fridge.

CanadaThe location of the Hotel Agli Alboretti is ideal. It’s on a quiet tree-lined street between 2 vaporetto stops so it’s easy to get anywhere you need to go. There are lots of great restaurants and shops in the area and its an easy walk to St. Mark’s, Rialto, etc. The continental breakfast has lots of options and we thoroughly enjoyed sitting in the covered patio area. There is a terrace on the 4th floor overlooking the street below - a great place to have a glass of wine at the end of the day. Last, but not least, the staff was absolutely amazing - so friendly and helpful. Will definitely stay again.

AustraliaThis is a really lovely small hotel in a quiet part of Venice. 24 hour reception staffed by friendly, helpful people was lovely and the breakfast in a leafy courtyard was excellent. Lots of restaurants and bars nearby. We thoroughly enjoyed our stay.

United KingdomThe terrace was popular in the evenings - maybe more seating if it can fit!
As a return guest, it was great to see hotel has been very well kept and improved - our room was freshly renovated with new bathroom, very clean and tidy everywhere. Quiet and comfortable bedroom. The location is fantastic, and having a roof terrace and outdoor breakfast space here feels so luxurious. A friendly buongiorno or buonasera every time you pass the reception staff. Good cold breakfast selection and the attentive staff asked for coffee orders as soon as you arrive. I look forward to staying yet again!

United StatesA little dated but really part of the charm. The AC was a little below my comfort zone. But it will do.
The friendly and helpful staff was great The location is perfect. Staying on the “other side” of the grand canal is much preferred. the crowds are 75% less. The authentic Venice you are looking for is right here but a bridge or short valparetto puts you in the “must sees” in minutes. Loved the private balcony and the serenade of the lone accordion player in the evening and early AM.

United StatesNothing - great experience!
Lovely small hotel in a fantastic location only 2 minutes' walk from the Accademia vaporetto stop. Ice cold AC kept steamy nights comfortable. Staff was friendly and helpful, and breakfast in the courtyard was a wonderful way to start the day. (Excellent cappuccino, but beware the mosquitoes outdoors!)

RomaniaWe loved it all
We absolutley loved it. Keep in mind that Venice is a crowded city, and small buildings, and yet they managed to make it spacious, also they have an elevator wich is quite a plus. The position of the hotel is a very big plus, easy to find, from the hotel it's easy to access more then one option of the vaporetto lines. The staff is amazing, they are warm, and very polite, and so helpful, they helped us with all the information we needed to get to where we needed. Good and plentyful breakfast We had fun, and we loved our room, and for sure when we come back to visit, we will stay here again.

United StatesLiked it all.
Great location and very helpful staff. Near vaporetto to and from train station and many restaurants on the Grand Canal in Dorsoduro district. There for 6 nights and walked most of the city areas. Beautiful inside or outside garden for breakfast and 4th floor terrace for a cocktail. Since air conditioning not legal until May 1, staff gave us essential fan to use first few nights as window blinds and windows need to be shut for blocking morning sun and barring mosquitoes at night. The fan worked well and then a/c on May 1 is legal. Beautiful building near the Accademia and not far from Peggy Guggenheim museum.
