We had 4 different rooms as a group of family members travelling together. Location was great, with wonderful views of the sassi. Staff were very helpful with organizing parking and rooms with easy access for members of our family. I would advise to check room location as different levels and ease of access depending on mobility. This is to be expected with staying in this part of Matera. Breakfast was great 😃

Good communication before arrival. Reasonable price. Warm reception. Staff all very helpful & radiate a pleasant informality. Our room was large, very well appointed & had an exceptional view of Matera. You can purchase ice creams, drinks & snacks on the terrace with a great view - all well priced. Breakfast is in a spacious room & has a very good choice of foods & drink. Something so right.

Amazing place and wonderful to stay in a “cave” room

This is a lovely property in a very nice part of the sassy. The Car Parking was really easy, and the directions clear. We took a few small bags and walked down which is really easy and gave an insight into the area. The staff were friendly and the accommodation was terrific. I would have no hesitation in recommending the place. Remember, that there are lots of steps so if you have any issues from a musculoskeletal point of view, then I think again! It was quite hot when we were there, but we got a bright and early and did the walk across the bridge and up the hill , which was spectacular.

We could have been advised of the difficulty of arriving at your hotel, by hire car, 'after hours', into the ZTL We now know what a ZTL is, but we didn't when we were driving the car into city. We were unprepared for being unable to drive the final few hundred metres. What was good was the response from your night manager, and his colleague who came to rescue us, and took over to drive the car expertly to the hotel doors. We would not have had the knowledge or the confidence to drive a car through such a Saturday night crowd. Also, you could promote the subterranean house in the nearby street. We found it, by chance, on the last morning of our stay. It was wonderful, a perfect ending to our time in Lecce. Tell your guests about it, it has a remarkable story!

Breakfast was in a great room. The room was dug into the walls, it was a cave. There was a variety of food at breakfast and the staff would help you get anything you needed. The location of this hotel has you looking out at a great view of the city. Again, I would like to thank all of the staff for their help.

The location was perfect! The window in room 10 gave a very nice view of the church- with a outside patio just a few steps away. The reception was very helpful with parking etc. The breakfast excellent! Good value!

Tucked right into the Sassi, Ai Terrazinni exceeded our expectations in so many ways! We were surprised at the size of the room, figuring it would be rather small. On the contrary, not only was the sleeping space more than adequate, the shower area and separate toilet facilities were more than large enough! We loved the view outside our room as well as the terrace a few steps away where we enjoyed ending perfect days with an aperol spritz or beautiful glass of wine. All staff we encountered were incredibly happy and helpful. Communication with all was simple. All our needs were totally taken care of, without any difficulties. Everyone there was stellar!

Bathroom lighting is a little too dark to put on makeup or check contact lenses. By design, the hotel rooms in Matera are cave structures so will be a bit more humid, although this property has AC which helps. The town is full of stone stairways, and so it's important to specify if you have a problem with a lot of stairs.

Great location, window that provided light and fresh air, nice breakfast setup, friendly and helpful staff, everything worked properly. Most comfortable mattress I've slept on in Italy in 5 weeks of traveling (hotels there tend to have hard mattresses).

The location was perfect in Sassi Barisano with easy access by foot or the red shuttle bus. Rooms were spacious with all facilities. A beautiful courtyard terrace was available for reading or watching the world go by and we took advantage of it to enjoy evening apperativs. The breakfast was lavish and delicious. All Staff so helpful and engaging.

We are very satisfied with the unreal apartment with an interesting room and an impressive bathroom. The staff is very friendly, the location is absolutely the best with a terrace and an unreal view of the old town of Metres. Everything is reachable within a few minutes. Very quiet and romantic. Breakfast is very good, pleasant service. We recommend it to everyone.

Absolutely fabulous place! The room was clean, spacious, authentic but modern and with a great view. The staff was super friendly and helpful and the breakfast delicious and locally produced - a plus. Stairs around, but that is what makes the Sassi so special so just be happy for the extra exercise!
