Read more– opens a dialog boxEach review score is between 1 and 10. To get the overall score you see, we add up all the review scores we’ve received and divide that total by the number of them. We use a weighted review system, which means the more recent the review, the bigger the impact on the total review score calculation. Guests can also give separate “subscores” in crucial areas like location, cleanliness, staff, comfort, facilities, value, and free Wifi. Note that guests submit their subscores and overall scores independently, so there’s no direct link between them.
You can review an accommodation that you booked through our platform if you stayed there, or if you got to the property but didn’t actually stay there. To edit a review you’ve already submitted, contact our Customer Service team.
We have people and automated systems that specialize in detecting fake reviews submitted to our platform. If we find any, we delete them and, if necessary, take action against whoever is responsible.
Anyone who spots something suspicious can always report it to our Customer Service team so that our fraud team can investigate.
Ideally, we'd publish every review we get, positive and negative. However, we won’t display any reviews that include or refer to (among other things):
To make sure reviews are relevant, we may only accept reviews that are submitted within 3 months of checking out. We may stop showing reviews once they’re 36 months old, or if the accommodation has a change of ownership.
An accommodation can reply to a review.
When you see multiple reviews, the most recent ones will be at the top, subject to a few other factors (e.g. language, whether it’s just a rating or contains comments as well, etc.). You can sort and/or filter them by time of year, review score, and more.
Sometimes we show external review scores from other well-known travel websites, but make it clear when we do this.
These guidelines and standards aim to keep the content on Booking.com relevant and family-friendly, without limiting expression or strong opinions. They're also applicable regardless of the comment's tone.
Contributions should be travel related. The most helpful contributions are detailed and help others make better decisions. Please don’t include personal, political, ethical, or religious commentary. Promotional content will be removed and issues concerning Booking.com’s services should be routed to our Customer Service or Accommodation Service teams.
Contributions should be appropriate for a global audience. Please avoid using profanity or attempts to approximate profanity with creative spelling, in any language. Comments and media that include hate speech, discriminatory remarks, threats, sexually explicit remarks, violence, or the promotion of illegal activity are not permitted.
All content should be genuine and unique to the guest. Reviews are most valuable when they are original and unbiased. Your contribution should be yours. Booking.com property partners should not post on behalf of guests or offer incentives in exchange for reviews. Attempts to bring down the rating of a competitor by submitting a negative review will not be tolerated.
Respect the privacy of others. Booking.com will make an effort to obscure email addresses, telephone numbers, website addresses, social media accounts, and other similar details.
The opinions expressed in contributions are those of Booking.com customers and properties, and not of Booking.com. Booking.com does not accept responsibility or liability for any reviews or responses. Booking.com is a distributor (without any obligation to verify) and not a publisher of these comments and responses.
By default, reviews are sorted based on the date of the review and on additional criteria to display the most relevant reviews, including but not limited to: your language, reviews with text, and non-anonymous reviews. Additional sorting options might be available (by type of traveler, by score, etc...).

Our stay at Al Massimo Piacere was absolutely fantastic! It was like a dream. Everything is perfect: the host Gabriella is the best, so kind and available for anything you need. The location is perfect, you have the best view on the Massimo theatre, and you can walk to visit the city. The accommodation is stunning! The furniture is exceptional and the bed is super confortable. Thank you again, we will be back!

GermanyAs per booking filter the hotel offers parking which is not the case. There is a parking lot within 5min walking which costs 25 euro per day plus ZTL fee per daily usage and is being monitored all night. Street parking in the area was not recommended, but could be a cheaper option.
Great Location in the Center of Palermo. The apartment is in a historic building and feels well maintained . There is a kitchen for open usage. Room has an AC and a small balcony. Internet connection is solid and can be used for video calls if needed

United KingdomThe only minuscule thing I could even comment on were that the pillows were quite hard and difficult to sleep on but that’s just a personal preference and definitely does not take away from the amazing experience !
The location was absolutely incredible. It was booming around us, always people in the piazza so felt safe at night. A quick bus ride to the train station which was really handy. The interior was stupendous. The pictures didn’t do it justice. Original al frescos and don’t get me started on the view from the balcony. Gabriella the host as extremely helpful and gave us tips on where to go to avoid overly tourist trap areas. Grazie Gabriella, a La prossima!

United KingdomWe had such a good stay at this apartment, location is unbeatable. It was fun sitting on a balcony and watching street life below. The apartment is more for the experience and character, rather than modern facilities. Gabriella is a very nice host, welcoming and friendly.would stay here again without a doubt.

United StatesThis is a popular area! There was a concert on our last night that went until after midnight. Again, you choose this property for the location which is mostly positive unless you need to go to bed early. Gabriella has provided ear plugs which was thoughtful.
The location and view were amazing, and the historical touches were gorgeous (painted ceilings, original marble flooring). Gabriella is warm and welcoming, and wants her guests to be comfortable.

IrelandI had a truly wonderful stay in this exceptional apartment, right opposite the stunning National Opera House. The location is unbeatable — central yet peaceful — and the apartment itself is full of charm and character, with beautiful frescoes on the ceiling, elegant furniture, and lovely colours throughout. It felt both luxurious and comfortable. Gabriella was a truly outstanding host — warm, gracious, and genuinely beautiful inside and out. Her hospitality made the experience even more special. There are fantastic restaurants nearby, or you can simply grab a delicious pizza and enjoy it in the calm of the apartment while looking out over the square. Palermo is a city full of life and history, and this is a perfect base for exploring it. I can’t recommend it enough!

United StatesThe bathroom light is motion-detected, so it goes on when I don't want it to, like when I have to pee at night. But then in the morning when I'm taking a shower and do want light, it shuts itself off every 30 seconds, leaving me in the dark. Pro-tip: if I can handle booking a hotel, I can handle turning a light switch on and off. But the the bathroom light was my only gripe about this amazing apartment.
The apartment is gorgeous and centrally located. I loved staying in it. The coffee pods and cookies were great too.

United KingdomNothing - exceptional in every way.
Absolutely perfect location, central for every sightseeing trip around the town with views of the Opera House (see Godfather 3). The owners are wonderful and very helpful - ask for anything and they will help - including home baked cakes! This is an old antique (listed) building with huge rooms and painted ceiling you would expect to see in a local church. If you want “modern amenities" and room service, stay at the Hilton! If you want to stay in an historic Palermo apartment with huge rooms and all its quirks stay here - wonderful place.

CanadaI knew about the stairs but still did not like them LOL
It has an amazing view of the Opera Theater from the common area especially at night. The hosts were totally amazing and helpful. You can walk to shopping, cafes and restaurants and all was amazing. I would highly recommend this BNB but not what the host say about the common areas and felt totally alone although there was another couple there.
