How guest reviews work
Each review score is between 1-10. To get the overall score that you see, we add up all the review scores we’ve received and divide that total by the number of review scores we’ve received. We use a weighted review system which means that the more recent the review, the bigger the impact on the total review score calculation. In addition, guests can give separate ‘subscores’ in crucial areas, such as location, cleanliness, staff, comfort, facilities, value for money and free Wi-Fi. Note that guests submit their subscores and their overall scores independently, so there’s no direct link between them.
You can review an Accommodation that you booked through our Platform if you stayed there or if you arrived at the property but didn’t actually stay there. To edit a review you’ve already submitted, please contact our Customer Service team.
We have people and automated systems that specialise in detecting fake reviews submitted to our Platform. If we find any, we delete them and, if necessary, take action against whoever is responsible.
Anyone else who spots something suspicious can always report it to our Customer Service team, so our Fraud team can investigate.
Ideally, we would publish every review we receive, whether positive or negative. However, we won’t display any review that includes or refers to (among other things):
- Politically sensitive comments
- Promotional content
- Illegal activities
- Personal or sensitive information (e.g. emails, phone numbers or credit card info)
- Swear words, sexual references, hate speech, discriminatory remarks, threats, or references to violence
- Spam and fake content
- Animal cruelty
- Impersonation (e.g. if the writer is claiming to be someone else)
- Any violation of our review guidelines.
To make sure reviews are relevant, we may only accept reviews that are submitted within 3 months of checking out, and we may stop showing reviews once they’re 36 months old – or if the Accommodation has a change of ownership.
An Accommodation may choose to reply to a review.
When you see multiple reviews, the most recent ones will be at the top, subject to a few other factors (what language a review is in, whether it’s just a rating or contains comments as well, etc.). If you like, you can sort and/or filter them (by time of year, review score, etc.).
We sometimes show external review scores from other well-known travel websites. We make it clear when we’ve done this.
Guidelines and standards for Reviews
These guidelines and standards aim to keep the content on Booking.com relevant and family-friendly without limiting expression of strong opinions. They are also applicable regardless of the sentiment of the comment.
Contributions should be travel related. The most helpful contributions are detailed and help others make better decisions. Please don’t include personal, political, ethical, or religious commentary. Promotional content will be removed and issues concerning Booking.com’s services should be routed to our Customer Service or Accommodation Service teams.
Contributions should be appropriate for a global audience. Please avoid using profanity or attempts to approximate profanity with creative spelling, in any language. Comments and media that include 'hate speech', discriminatory remarks, threats, sexually explicit remarks, violence, and the promotion of illegal activity are not permitted.
All content should be genuine and unique to the guest. Reviews are most valuable when they are original and unbiased. Your contribution should be yours. Booking.com property partners should not post on behalf of guests or offer incentives in exchange for reviews. Attempts to bring down the rating of a competitor by submitting a negative review will not be tolerated.
Respect the privacy of others. Booking.com will make an effort to obscure email addresses, telephone numbers, website addresses, social media accounts, and similar details.
The opinions expressed in contributions are those of Booking.com customers and properties and not of Booking.com. Booking.com does not accept responsibility or liability for any reviews or responses. Booking.com is a distributor (without any obligation to verify) and not a publisher of these comments and responses.
By default, reviews are sorted based on the date of the review and on additional criteria to display the most relevant reviews, including but not limited to: your language, reviews with text, and non-anonymous reviews. Additional sorting options may be available (by type of traveller, by score, etc.).

Verified reviewGood accomodation in Chiampino just minutes away from the train station and airport bus stop. Also super close to the supermarket and food points. It actually looks better than on photos) It is a huge apartment in a nice building with separate rooms for rent. We stayed in the room with private shower and big balcony. It was surprisingly spacious with a comfy bed and nice ceiling fan. There is a capsule coffee machine. The host met us in the inner yard and showed everything (she didn’t speak English though).
In our case there were no issues and it perfectly served our needs. Just write them when you are planning to arrive some time ahead. And for the proper breakfast you need to go out.

Verified reviewFriendly welcome, easy check-in. Early check-in was no problem. Water, juice, coffee, and small pastries provided. Ceiling fan was sufficient. Minutes from the train station and bus stops, as well as coffee shops, pizza restaurants, and a supermarket.

Verified reviewThe check-in was zero-stress, the room was bigger than expected, and it came with a private bathroom plus a balcony so large you could practically do yoga out there. Yeah, Italian summer hit hard, but that trusty ceiling fan saved the day. Location shines: Just a 2-3 minute walk to Ciampino train station and the airport shuttle bus stop. Ideal for early flights.

I never leave bad reviews for places but this was genuinely soo bad. Firstly: no body wash in the shower just hand-soap, the fan in the room was rubbish you could barely even feel it. It was soooo hot in the room neither of us slept for more than 2 hours. Also we couldn’t open the balcony door (no key for it) so we were essentially trapped in a sauna all night We had an issue with the train so we ended up arriving at the train station at 9:36. I told the host in advance there was an issue with the train and we would be 10 minutes late to which she replied ‘don’t you know I close at 9:30?’ and ‘I know the train times it didn’t leave late’ and after basically begging for her to wait 10 minutes so we don’t have to sleep at the airport she said ‘I’ll wait 10 minutes no longer’. We ran from the train station to get there in time. Luckily she had waited, but when she let us in, she came down in a lift (so not sure if she just lives the floor above the flats she rents out … not sure why she HAS to shut at 9:30 then??). It was unnecessarily stressful and she was very very rude over message and in person to us. Can see this has been an issue for multiple guests, so i’d expect her to find a solution to this like getting a key box? Anyway, 0/10 experience and would never ever stay here again or recommend anyone else does :)

Verified reviewVery clean, with good beds. This is a safe residential area, convenient to Ciampino train station and around the corner from supermarkets/restaurants. For the airport, only a 10 min drive (and not accessible by foot). I think you can also take the (Trenitalia) Ciampino Airlink bus, but you should check the schedule first! Our flight was much too early for that.
No air conditioning in our room meant that my partner had to take sleeping pills in order to sleep. There is an electric fan, but due to the heat we also had to keep the window open (bring mosquito repellent!)

Verified reviewProperty is a very short walk from the train station and airlink bus to Ciampino airport. It was very clean and host was responsive. The price was very competitive.
Bathroom floor drain was blocked or needed repair. After showering the floor was completely flooded.

Verified reviewReally close to the station and airlink bus stop to the airport. Must admit the pictures don’t really do the place and room justice.
The bathroom was quite small with the toilet feeling like it was in the shower.

Verified reviewThe location was excellent - a 2-minute walk to the train station where it is only a 15 minute train ride to Rome. Also, easy to catch a bus there to Ciampino airport. Room was spacious with a balcony facing south, so lots of sun. There was a Nespresso machine in the room, which was a pleasant surprise. Anna was there to greet me as soon as I pressed the bell.
Walls are not soundproofed well, so I could hear people having conversations in other rooms. The bathroom floor was always wet. I think a pipe or the toilet was leaking. When I took a shower, in the shared bathroom, someone repeatedly pounded at the door even though I was in there only 10-15 minutes.
