How guest reviews work
Each review score is between 1-10. To get the overall score that you see, we add up all the review scores we’ve received and divide that total by the number of review scores we’ve received. We use a weighted review system which means that the more recent the review, the bigger the impact on the total review score calculation. In addition, guests can give separate ‘subscores’ in crucial areas, such as location, cleanliness, staff, comfort, facilities, value for money and free Wi-Fi. Note that guests submit their subscores and their overall scores independently, so there’s no direct link between them.
You can review an Accommodation that you booked through our Platform if you stayed there or if you arrived at the property but didn’t actually stay there. To edit a review you’ve already submitted, please contact our Customer Service team.
We have people and automated systems that specialise in detecting fake reviews submitted to our Platform. If we find any, we delete them and, if necessary, take action against whoever is responsible.
Anyone else who spots something suspicious can always report it to our Customer Service team, so our Fraud team can investigate.
Ideally, we would publish every review we receive, whether positive or negative. However, we won’t display any review that includes or refers to (among other things):
- Politically sensitive comments
- Promotional content
- Illegal activities
- Personal or sensitive information (e.g. emails, phone numbers or credit card info)
- Swear words, sexual references, hate speech, discriminatory remarks, threats, or references to violence
- Spam and fake content
- Animal cruelty
- Impersonation (e.g. if the writer is claiming to be someone else)
- Any violation of our review guidelines.
To make sure reviews are relevant, we may only accept reviews that are submitted within 3 months of checking out, and we may stop showing reviews once they’re 36 months old – or if the Accommodation has a change of ownership.
An Accommodation may choose to reply to a review.
When you see multiple reviews, the most recent ones will be at the top, subject to a few other factors (what language a review is in, whether it’s just a rating or contains comments as well, etc.). If you like, you can sort and/or filter them (by time of year, review score, etc.).
We sometimes show external review scores from other well-known travel websites. We make it clear when we’ve done this.

The breakfast was ok but I would have preferred to eat fresh croissants instead of the frozen ones
A nice facility in a beautiful location with the staff that was really nice and I appreciated the cleaning. I loved the small park outside the facility

The standard check-out time of 10.30 seems early to me,
Exceptional staff in a typical Italian seaside hotel. Everything was pristine and the breakfast was excellent with plenty of choice

The mosquitoes! Basically a problem in September I'm told throughout Italy.
The upgrade room with a private balcony bigger than the room! Only wish was there longer to enjoy it. The host was very inviting on arrival and was helpful with information & problems that arose. Great breakfast as well.

The only negative we could think of was that the hotel does not have a section of the beach provided with the stay, and the rates for umbrellas and sun beds were really pricey on the beach closest to Hotel Albergo. Even though they offered a little discount if we mentioned we came from the hotel, it wasn’t too comfortable to pay 40€ each day, only to have a spot on the beach. Of course, it has little to do with how beautiful and comfortable the Hotel was, but something to keep in mind at booking, and maybe something to consider for the Hotel’s staff.
Highly recommend this hotel! Beautiful garden, clean and comfortable rooms, and not to mention the fantastic offering at breakfast, which was changing from one day to another. We had to leave on our last morning earlier than 7 o’clock but the staff still managed to prepare a little takeaway bag for us for the way! Super kind and thoughtful, we highly appreciated it. We could also rent bikes and go further and around on bikes in the Viareggio area. 10/10 reccommend!!:)

The facilities in the room are outdated and the bed isn't very confortable. Indeed, like many said before, the rooms are far from soundproof. The WC is small but that isn't that big of a deal. Despite breakfast being really good and diverse overall, some pastries clearly weren't fresh, and something that bothered me was that I had to be served for most of it (not allowed to serve myself), which felt like some sort of limitation (obviously a detail and staff were super kind and helpful). Finally, unfortunately I found it expensive considering the overall quality, but probably in line with the prices in that location at that time of the year.
The location, near the beach and in walking distance from the center of the village, is awesome and super practical. The hotel has beautiful shared facilities and the breakfast is good. The air conditioning worked well and felt like heaven coming back to the room. The hotel lent me a sunshade which was very welcome!

There is no safe in the room.
It’s small but really beautiful and familiar. Everyone was really helpful and lovely. The location is perfect, close to the beach but also the centre.

Outside in the beautiful garden we enjoyed a very nice Italian style breakfast with a wide range of cake and other sweet. But also bread, fresh fruit, yoghurt, eggs, etc. Good coffee. Location nearby the beach and some restaurants, bars and shops.

Very nice oldschool vibes. Hotel is at a perfect location, walking distance to bars and restaurants, also very close to the sea. Really loved the yard with some seating area. Women at recepcion was super friendly.

The location is very central and less than 5min walk to the beach. Additionally, the hotel has good discounts with nearby beach clubs. Staff very nice and helpful. Lovely morning breakfast. Overall, great stay and great quality for the price.

A little bit rundown, some small maintenance for example shower drain was broken and backed up, soap dispensers not attached, cracks and little imperfections in walls, thin walls you can hear others pretty well. But overall clean and pleasant and very comfy bed!
Breakfast and location are great, staff is very friendly. The garden for breakfast and other garden for relaxing are very beautiful.
