The old airco couldnt make it colder and was noisy but opening the window was also too noisy

Location is a big plus, food was excellent, the room was big and had a nice view, breakfast was very good.

Our air conditioning was a bit noisy and unefficient (our frends in another room had new device), late in the evening it was a bit challenging to find parking spot.

The room had some minuses. First: the noise in the morning. There was some garbage loading noises, broken glass, very close and unpleasant. Not enough power outlets close to the bed for charging our devices.

Hotel Eden is right on the shore of the lake. It had everything needed to make our stay comfortable. Since it was mid June, the heat was already unpleasant, but the AC in the room worked great. Room was ok, spacious and clean, beds quite comfortable. Breakfast is basic, I couln't find any warm food (eggs, for example), but the rest was ok. Parking is public and close, and instructions were clear. We arrived on a Wednesday, and there were plenty of places available.

Had a lovely stay at Hotel Eden. However, our room was meant for 4 with a mezzanine level. The metal spiral staircase was a liability. Hit my shoulders on it on several occasions, had to drape a towel around several areas to lessen the hazard. Little room to open and use suitcases ... no coffee/tea making facilities in the room. For us Aussies, a fridge and kettle are always welcome!

The location, with a great view of the lake from our opening door windows - one of the best. Wonderful breakfast, clean room, friendly family based staff .... lovely easy-going environment. Would definitely recommend this hotel to anyone.

No reserved and free parking for customers. Either you use the paying parking on the main road or it’s not so easy to find a free parking spot at the free public parking, especially during a weekend

A real espresso machine

It is a good family run budget conscious hotel. It was good. Industry standard. Breakfast: Nice unique offering like Focaccia. Eat inside at reserved table or cross the street (like another hotels) for breakfast by the water. It was steps from the bus and ferry.

Breakfast was more than substantial, plenty for choice. The sitting out area at the back of the hotel was ideal you could hear the church bells. Location was perfect a short stroll across to the lake where you could dine.

This is a proper old-fashioned family-run Italian hotel. No frills but super clean with lovely helpful staff and waiters. Our family room was ideal for a short stay with air-con. Dinner on the shore opposite the hotel was delicious - great atmosphere and a real sense of calm watching the boats. Breakfast excellent. And good value too.

Our room was small. We had to ask extra for the air conditioning remote and somehow the aor conditioning was turned off at 3am. It seemed as if it was turned off from some mainline as we couldn't restart it using the remote nor the power button on the air conditioner. With windows open, many mosquitos come in.. Breakfast was veru basic and had some not-so-fresh items like cereals.

Location of the hotel is perfect, with a beautiful view to the lake. They also offer eating opportunities with perfect lake view. Hotel staff was very polite and helpful. There is quite some free parking available near the hotel, which was also guided to us by the hotel staff. Room and bathroom was clean and seemed freshly painted.

The hostess seemed distracted and harassed when we arrived, and could have been more helpful, but when things settled down, she was pleasant and accommodating. The elevator was small, but worked adequately. Free parking was a few blocks away, near the train station.

For 1st-time visitors to Lago Maggiore, don't stay in Stresa -- Stay at Baveno! And the Hotel Eden is right on the lakefront, with its restaurant just across the road, at the lake. The generous and tasty (great croissants!) included breakfast buffet may be eaten in either the sunny breakfast room/restaurant, or, across the road, on the shore of the sparkling lake. Baveno has a long lakeside promenade, lined with flowers, restaurants, piazzas, and statues, so much nicer than the handsome, but formal walkway at Stresa. The town is more intimate, with most facilities within two blocks of the Hotel Eden. There is a charming old church complex, crooked old streets, fine villas, a ferry dock, a bathing beach, a small local museum, good restaurants, and an excellent gelateria. The tourists come and go. An evening promenade is very peaceful. There aren't all the fancy shops and tourist junk shops that fill the old town of Stresa -- but that gets old pretty quickly. The Borromean Islands are easily accessible. (I recommend avoiding the Pescatori Island at lunch time -- it's a complete zoo of hot, tired, and hungry tourists.) The hotel couldn't give us a lake-view room (which turns out to be too bight with glare on a sunny morning), but gave us a lovely large-windowed rear-facing room, looking out on the charming Medieval church tower, with the pink granite mountains behind -- satisfactory!

Lake view overlooks a quite busy street as well. We got free toiletries just on the first day of our stay. Wifi was very slow.
