How guest reviews work
Each review score is between 1-10. To get the overall score that you see, we add up all the review scores we’ve received and divide that total by the number of review scores we’ve received. We use a weighted review system which means that the more recent the review, the bigger the impact on the total review score calculation. In addition, guests can give separate ‘subscores’ in crucial areas, such as location, cleanliness, staff, comfort, facilities, value for money and free Wi-Fi. Note that guests submit their subscores and their overall scores independently, so there’s no direct link between them.
You can review an Accommodation that you booked through our Platform if you stayed there or if you arrived at the property but didn’t actually stay there. To edit a review you’ve already submitted, please contact our Customer Service team.
We have people and automated systems that specialise in detecting fake reviews submitted to our Platform. If we find any, we delete them and, if necessary, take action against whoever is responsible.
Anyone else who spots something suspicious can always report it to our Customer Service team, so our Fraud team can investigate.
Ideally, we would publish every review we receive, whether positive or negative. However, we won’t display any review that includes or refers to (among other things):
- Politically sensitive comments
- Promotional content
- Illegal activities
- Personal or sensitive information (e.g. emails, phone numbers or credit card info)
- Swear words, sexual references, hate speech, discriminatory remarks, threats, or references to violence
- Spam and fake content
- Animal cruelty
- Impersonation (e.g. if the writer is claiming to be someone else)
- Any violation of our review guidelines.
To make sure reviews are relevant, we may only accept reviews that are submitted within 3 months of checking out, and we may stop showing reviews once they’re 36 months old – or if the Accommodation has a change of ownership.
An Accommodation may choose to reply to a review.
When you see multiple reviews, the most recent ones will be at the top, subject to a few other factors (what language a review is in, whether it’s just a rating or contains comments as well, etc.). If you like, you can sort and/or filter them (by time of year, review score, etc.).
We sometimes show external review scores from other well-known travel websites. We make it clear when we’ve done this.
Guidelines and standards for Reviews
These guidelines and standards aim to keep the content on Booking.com relevant and family-friendly without limiting expression of strong opinions. They are also applicable regardless of the sentiment of the comment.
Contributions should be travel related. The most helpful contributions are detailed and help others make better decisions. Please don’t include personal, political, ethical, or religious commentary. Promotional content will be removed and issues concerning Booking.com’s services should be routed to our Customer Service or Accommodation Service teams.
Contributions should be appropriate for a global audience. Please avoid using profanity or attempts to approximate profanity with creative spelling, in any language. Comments and media that include 'hate speech', discriminatory remarks, threats, sexually explicit remarks, violence, and the promotion of illegal activity are not permitted.
All content should be genuine and unique to the guest. Reviews are most valuable when they are original and unbiased. Your contribution should be yours. Booking.com property partners should not post on behalf of guests or offer incentives in exchange for reviews. Attempts to bring down the rating of a competitor by submitting a negative review will not be tolerated.
Respect the privacy of others. Booking.com will make an effort to obscure email addresses, telephone numbers, website addresses, social media accounts, and similar details.
The opinions expressed in contributions are those of Booking.com customers and properties and not of Booking.com. Booking.com does not accept responsibility or liability for any reviews or responses. Booking.com is a distributor (without any obligation to verify) and not a publisher of these comments and responses.

Our apartment was on the 2nd floor it was very small, nowhere to sit down, except on the bed. Kitchen inadequate, not enough pans or crockery, no sharp knife, no toaster. Microwave high up on top of fridge difficult to reach. Lack of sockets, had to plug the kettle in a socket in the bathroom. Tiny balcony Good swimming pool but was usually domineered by screaming kids.

We also offer larger apartments with full kitchens and more space, available at different rates. The kitchenette in the Junior Suite is designed for preparing light meals. We would have been happy to provide you with any additional kitchenware or utensils you might have needed, but unfortunately, we did not receive any feedback from you during your stay, which we regret. We could also have shown you that there are power outlets located right next to the microwave, placed in a position suitable for the apartment’s and kitchen’s dimensions. All provided appliances are intended for use in the kitchen area, not in the bathroom. As for the pool area, please note that during the high season, our Residence welcomes many lovely families with children who take the opportunity to play and enjoy themselves during the daytime. Verified reviewThe place is stunning. While Il Molino or Manerba del Garda may not be Italy’s most glamorous or stylish destination, I would venture to say it’s one of the most enjoyable. Everything here works, there's just the right amount of everything, and nothing feels excessive. The place is peaceful, clean, well-maintained, and offers plenty of space to relax. The pool area is charming, the pool itself is good-sized and sufficient for the guests, and there were always enough sunbeds for everyone. The staff—Fiorella, Martina, and Celeste—are exceptional in their friendliness. It’s clear they genuinely want to make your holiday enjoyable. We always received a friendly and attentive response to any of our requests, and all our "issues" were resolved promptly. If there weren’t enough dishes in the room, they were quickly provided, for example. There are a few great restaurants nearby, but the apartment’s facilities also make it easy to cook simple meals. The lake and a very peaceful beach are just a 2-minute walk away. I’ll definitely return here. Hopefully, soon!

Verified reviewThe location is great - just off the main road so easy to find and lots of amenities close at hand, including a mini market, crazy golf, gift shop & pizzeria, all in 5 minutes walk max. Best of all the Lake is quite literally at the end of the road and there are 2 bays with lots of restaurants and bars to choose from. We found the apartment to be large, spotless and comfortable, and particularly loved the large doors opening onto a larger than average garden terrace. The complex itself is modern and like a little garden oasis, with its pool in the middle. Also, the free yoga on the roof terrace was really lovely, and the massage treatments available were reasonably priced and the therapist lovely.
The children's bunk beds were not the most comfortable for our teenage boys - wooden, creaky and mattresses a bit lumpy they said! The kitchen crockery is limited - tiny glasses, no mugs (we British like our tea!) And only 4 side & dinner plates and 4 sets of cutlery, not many sharp knives. Pots and pans were fine and they provide a teatowel, cloth and washing up liquid to start you off.

Wifi signal was very weak in our apartment, access kept dropping. It would have been great to have more kitchen utensils and cookware. We had only 3 forks and 4 knives and the same number of plates and bowls and were constantly doing dishes.

There was a little child screaming around the pool all afternoon for 7 days a week. I feel like that should not be aloud because a lot of guests where having trouble Reading their book because they were distracted by the yelling child.

Verified reviewOur room was exceptional, clean, and spacious, the helpful staff made planning trips easy. The pool area was spotless and the whole complex excellent. The mini market next door stocked a wide variety of goods, and larger supermarkets were in easy reach. The lake a short walk away with all of it's views delightful. Manerba del Gardo was an ideal centre for touring the lake and the surrounding towns and cities. Verona only a short drive away, or you could use the train service from Desanzano. All in all a perfect holiday destination.
The kitchen in the apartment was perfect for preparing meals, but strangely was the choice of kitchen utensils, although adequate, you need to check what is available before planning your meals.
