How guest reviews work
Each review score is between 1-10. To get the overall score that you see, we add up all the review scores we’ve received and divide that total by the number of review scores we’ve received. We use a weighted review system which means that the more recent the review, the bigger the impact on the total review score calculation. In addition, guests can give separate ‘subscores’ in crucial areas, such as location, cleanliness, staff, comfort, facilities, value for money and free Wi-Fi. Note that guests submit their subscores and their overall scores independently, so there’s no direct link between them.
You can review an Accommodation that you booked through our Platform if you stayed there or if you arrived at the property but didn’t actually stay there. To edit a review you’ve already submitted, please contact our Customer Service team.
We have people and automated systems that specialise in detecting fake reviews submitted to our Platform. If we find any, we delete them and, if necessary, take action against whoever is responsible.
Anyone else who spots something suspicious can always report it to our Customer Service team, so our Fraud team can investigate.
Ideally, we would publish every review we receive, whether positive or negative. However, we won’t display any review that includes or refers to (among other things):
- Politically sensitive comments
- Promotional content
- Illegal activities
- Personal or sensitive information (e.g. emails, phone numbers or credit card info)
- Swear words, sexual references, hate speech, discriminatory remarks, threats, or references to violence
- Spam and fake content
- Animal cruelty
- Impersonation (e.g. if the writer is claiming to be someone else)
- Any violation of our review guidelines.
To make sure reviews are relevant, we may only accept reviews that are submitted within 3 months of checking out, and we may stop showing reviews once they’re 36 months old – or if the Accommodation has a change of ownership.
An Accommodation may choose to reply to a review.
When you see multiple reviews, the most recent ones will be at the top, subject to a few other factors (what language a review is in, whether it’s just a rating or contains comments as well, etc.). If you like, you can sort and/or filter them (by time of year, review score, etc.).
We sometimes show external review scores from other well-known travel websites. We make it clear when we’ve done this.

The parking lots were not near the hotel, they are located 10 minutes away
Very close to the lake and the restaurants are 5 minutes walk away, the staff is great and provide help with what you need

We had a great experience at this hotel! The room was clean and comfortable, the location in the heart of the old town was perfect, and the staff were friendly and helpful. Highly recommended!

Nothing to complain - ok... rooms might be bigger, but this is not something you expect from such a location in the center:)
Lovely hotel, clean, equipped with everything you need. Placed in great location - just in the center of old town (a lot of restaurant, bars, shops around). Room was comfortable, breakfast was served in bar on ground floor (was continental one, not only "coffee and cornetto":)), hotel offers parking places in private garage nearby. What would like to emphasize is great customer service and hospitality, our whole family including our dog was highly welcomed, also the way how to get to the hotel (hotel is placed in traffic restricted zone) was clearly described.

That we didn't had more time there to stay
Perfect stay. The personal is very friendly and they are really helpfull. Rooms are very clean, the Hotel is situated in the center area of the city where you can reach all most important restaurants and bars within minutes. Breakfast is not king size, but is good and realy Italian tasty thogh to start the day. We extended our stay and the personal was very supportive in finding a solution, which they did. Thank you for helping to have a pleasant stay

10 minute walk to park the car in a garage, but understandable considering they don't allow cars to park with the core of Riva del Garda.
Perfect location within the no-car zone. Very quite and so simple for restaurants and waterfront walking and shops. Excellent breakfast.

The noisy toilet flushing system at night especially room#104. I was not able to sleep well as I was waking up on flushing system sounds multiple times during late night time

We were there for 1 night while passing through Riva. We had the double room with a pull out sofa bed for 2 teens ( 15 and 17)... there was lots of room, air con, comfortable beds and a great breakfast ( lots of pastries). Staff were great and location perfect. We would recommend Alle Porte.

Our room and the bathroom were a bit small with irregular shape and the decoration/furniture were pretty bleak. Some things could do with renovation, like the rusty radiator in the bathroom or the holes in the walls everywhere of past hangers or past decorations.
The location is great, in the very centre of Riva, the bed was comfortable and the room clean. Breakfast was very good and abundant and the staff was helpful, professional and friendly.

Location was excellent, in the middle of the city. Personnel was friendly. Nice simple room with everything you need. Price-quality one of the better hotels in the area. Great breakfast as well.
