Each review score is between 1-10. To get the overall score that you see, we add up all the review scores we’ve received and divide that total by the number of review scores we’ve received. We use a weighted review system which means that the more recent the review, the bigger the impact on the total review score calculation. In addition, guests can give separate ‘subscores’ in crucial areas, such as location, cleanliness, staff, comfort, facilities, value for money and free Wi-Fi. Note that guests submit their subscores and their overall scores independently, so there’s no direct link between them.
You can review an Accommodation that you booked through our Platform if you stayed there or if you arrived at the property but didn’t actually stay there. To edit a review you’ve already submitted, please contact our Customer Service team.
We have people and automated systems that specialise in detecting fake reviews submitted to our Platform. If we find any, we delete them and, if necessary, take action against whoever is responsible.
Anyone else who spots something suspicious can always report it to our Customer Service team, so our Fraud team can investigate.
Ideally, we would publish every review we receive, whether positive or negative. However, we won’t display any review that includes or refers to (among other things):
To make sure reviews are relevant, we may only accept reviews that are submitted within 3 months of checking out, and we may stop showing reviews once they’re 36 months old – or if the Accommodation has a change of ownership.
An Accommodation may choose to reply to a review.
When you see multiple reviews, the most recent ones will be at the top, subject to a few other factors (what language a review is in, whether it’s just a rating or contains comments as well, etc.). If you like, you can sort and/or filter them (by time of year, review score, etc.).
We sometimes show external review scores from other well-known travel websites. We make it clear when we’ve done this.
These guidelines and standards aim to keep the content on Booking.com relevant and family-friendly without limiting expression of strong opinions. They are also applicable regardless of the sentiment of the comment.
Contributions should be travel related. The most helpful contributions are detailed and help others make better decisions. Please don’t include personal, political, ethical, or religious commentary. Promotional content will be removed and issues concerning Booking.com’s services should be routed to our Customer Service or Accommodation Service teams.
Contributions should be appropriate for a global audience. Please avoid using profanity or attempts to approximate profanity with creative spelling, in any language. Comments and media that include 'hate speech', discriminatory remarks, threats, sexually explicit remarks, violence, and the promotion of illegal activity are not permitted.
All content should be genuine and unique to the guest. Reviews are most valuable when they are original and unbiased. Your contribution should be yours. Booking.com property partners should not post on behalf of guests or offer incentives in exchange for reviews. Attempts to bring down the rating of a competitor by submitting a negative review will not be tolerated.
Respect the privacy of others. Booking.com will make an effort to obscure email addresses, telephone numbers, website addresses, social media accounts, and similar details.
The opinions expressed in contributions are those of Booking.com customers and properties and not of Booking.com. Booking.com does not accept responsibility or liability for any reviews or responses. Booking.com is a distributor (without any obligation to verify) and not a publisher of these comments and responses.
By default, reviews are sorted based on the date of the review and on additional criteria to display the most relevant reviews, including but not limited to: your language, reviews with text, and non-anonymous reviews. Additional sorting options may be available (by type of traveller, by score, etc.).

United StatesThe location might be slightly challenging if you don’t have a car because of the big hill to get to center of town but because it’s slightly outside the center, you get to enjoy the peace and spectacular sunset too.
Lots of space, very peaceful, interior decoration has a lot of character and is indeed super charming. Both bedrooms are very spacious and have comfortable beds. Two separate bathrooms and great AC and WIFI throughout the house. Well-stocked kitchen. Can park a few steps away from the house. Alberto the host was also very responsive and accommodating in terms of check-in/check-out times.

VietnamAmazing apartment in an amazing location. We loved being just outside Montepulciano, a quick 5-10 minute walk up the hill. The church next to the house and the views from there were stunning. The house was very clean, comfortable, and welcoming. Alberto was a great host who was very communicative and provided many recommendations in the area. We would love to come back someday and would recommend this place to everyone!

United StatesYou could not have a better situation in every way than this marvelous property. First, do not be put off by it being outside of town - it's the best spot!! Easy parking (which is worth a lot!) and you're on a beautiful open hill w/views to forever + immediately across the road from the exquisite San Biagio temple (built 1518). The apartment is beautifully decorated, spacious, and very very comfortable. The host is wonderful and helpful and very quick to respond. Really, a perfect stay.

Our stay with Alberto was exceptional. Firstly, the house we stayed in was incredible. It was a historical house (built in the 16th century) which was amazing but all the facilities were up to date and worked perfectly, such as the AC in every room. The house is spacious beyond comfortable; it met our every need. Alberto was also one of the most accommodating hosts we've ever had. He helped us book restaurants, wine tours and gave us excellent recommendations. He was available 24/7 to help us whenever. The location of the house is impeccable, in a quieter part of Montepulciano.

South AfricaAlberto is an incredibly generous host who goes above and beyond to ensure a comfortable stay. The house is bright, colorful, and meticulously created, exuding happiness and warmth. It's beautifully and comfortably furnished, stocked with generous amounts of everything you might need, from plenty of good coffee to essential kitchen amenities. Thoughtful notes guide you to everything you need, making your stay worry-free. There is free parking just opposite the astounding Tempio San Di Biagio, which is directly opposite the house. The sunsets in the evening are magnificent—just step out of the front door, walk a few steps to the temple, and watch the sun go down from the lawn area of the temple. Wonderfully located, the house has many charming touches that reflect the care of its owners. After a couple of weeks on the road, it was fabulous to find such a happy, bright home to catch up on washing and recuperate. Cars and bikes driving by mainly between 7 am and 10 pm were background noise that did not detract from us having a marvelous stay. The walk up the hill is steep, however a convenient hop-on hop-off bus stop is just a few steps away, making trips to town easy for those who do not want the steep climb. It is 10 euros for a full round of 5 stops through town and back to where you started. Thank you Alberto, your charming home is highly recommended for a delightful and hassle-free stay!

United StatesWe liked everything about the property. We had a car so getting up into Montepulciano was easy. The first night we walked up into town, and it was a long walk and a pretty steep uphill. When we got up to town, we expected to have dinner - but alas, every place was either booked for a special event or filled with reservations. Make your dinner reservations ahead of time. Alberto will give you lots of suggestions - we just didn’t expect to have any trouble finding a place on a Friday night. And if you aren’t hearty, in shape and mobile, plan to take your car up and use one of the parking garages.
This is a MOST charming home! Everything was very comfortable and the attention to detail was superb! We’ve been staying in lots of places while we have been all over Italy - this home was the only place to provide tissues, toiletries, and super great towels! Beds and bedrooms were super comfortable and the location was quiet and beautiful right across from San Biagio Church. Alberto did a fantastic job of meeting us and orienting us both to the home and to the area. Such a great personal touch. The space was very roomy and the two bedrooms are at opposite ends of the house for a nice level of privacy if you are two friends or two couples. Lots of hot water and great water pressure. Choose this property - you’ll be glad you did!

United StatesThe two showers are a bit on the small side.
Extremely clean, spacious, beautifully decorated and quiet. We rented a car, and there is ample parking and easy access to other towns. The Church of San Biagio is a stones throw away. A wonderful spot to watch the sunset over the Tuscan hills with a bottle of Vino Nobile. The outstanding restaurant Il Grotto, is across from the church.

United StatesAlthough it is a matter of taste, the artwork on the walls was all pretty much the same, not very appealing and there were way too many paintings of the same style from the same artist. I would recommend replacing all of those paintings.
It is among the most outstanding places I've stayed because of the location, the quality and cleanliness of the apartment, and Alberto as the host.
