Each review score is between 1-10. To get the overall score that you see, we add up all the review scores we’ve received and divide that total by the number of review scores we’ve received. We use a weighted review system which means that the more recent the review, the bigger the impact on the total review score calculation. In addition, guests can give separate ‘subscores’ in crucial areas, such as location, cleanliness, staff, comfort, facilities, value for money and free Wi-Fi. Note that guests submit their subscores and their overall scores independently, so there’s no direct link between them.
You can review an Accommodation that you booked through our Platform if you stayed there or if you arrived at the property but didn’t actually stay there. To edit a review you’ve already submitted, please contact our Customer Service team.
We have people and automated systems that specialise in detecting fake reviews submitted to our Platform. If we find any, we delete them and, if necessary, take action against whoever is responsible.
Anyone else who spots something suspicious can always report it to our Customer Service team, so our Fraud team can investigate.
Ideally, we would publish every review we receive, whether positive or negative. However, we won’t display any review that includes or refers to (among other things):
To make sure reviews are relevant, we may only accept reviews that are submitted within 3 months of checking out, and we may stop showing reviews once they’re 36 months old – or if the Accommodation has a change of ownership.
An Accommodation may choose to reply to a review.
When you see multiple reviews, the most recent ones will be at the top, subject to a few other factors (what language a review is in, whether it’s just a rating or contains comments as well, etc.). If you like, you can sort and/or filter them (by time of year, review score, etc.).
We sometimes show external review scores from other well-known travel websites. We make it clear when we’ve done this.
These guidelines and standards aim to keep the content on Booking.com relevant and family-friendly without limiting expression of strong opinions. They are also applicable regardless of the sentiment of the comment.
Contributions should be travel related. The most helpful contributions are detailed and help others make better decisions. Please don’t include personal, political, ethical, or religious commentary. Promotional content will be removed and issues concerning Booking.com’s services should be routed to our Customer Service or Accommodation Service teams.
Contributions should be appropriate for a global audience. Please avoid using profanity or attempts to approximate profanity with creative spelling, in any language. Comments and media that include 'hate speech', discriminatory remarks, threats, sexually explicit remarks, violence, and the promotion of illegal activity are not permitted.
All content should be genuine and unique to the guest. Reviews are most valuable when they are original and unbiased. Your contribution should be yours. Booking.com property partners should not post on behalf of guests or offer incentives in exchange for reviews. Attempts to bring down the rating of a competitor by submitting a negative review will not be tolerated.
Respect the privacy of others. Booking.com will make an effort to obscure email addresses, telephone numbers, website addresses, social media accounts, and similar details.
The opinions expressed in contributions are those of Booking.com customers and properties and not of Booking.com. Booking.com does not accept responsibility or liability for any reviews or responses. Booking.com is a distributor (without any obligation to verify) and not a publisher of these comments and responses.
By default, reviews are sorted based on the date of the review and on additional criteria to display the most relevant reviews, including but not limited to: your language, reviews with text, and non-anonymous reviews. Additional sorting options may be available (by type of traveller, by score, etc.).

United KingdomOn a hill so lots of steps between levels, so wouldn’t suit everyone. Breakfast was lovely choice and quality but ran out of several things. Stunning views from the terrace.Only enough melon for 1 and only single flavoured yoghurt. For 3 people had to workout who had what!! Didn’t feel we could ask for a second coffee- would be nice for staff to offer, check we have everything. Wasps moved in after 10 minutes too… No pool towels available? No staff at the bar- had to call the owner and saw the staff whizz down the road to come and man the bar! Lovely bar food when finally came. Staff looked bored but were friendly. Cleaner at the pool from 10-11am- pool opened at 10. Better if done before it opened? Pillows were like bricks- sorry very uncomfortable. Needs a bin in the room too. Gathered our rubbish in a pile. Still a most wonderful place- would return. Lovely village as well Great pizza restaurant 5 min walk as per recommendation of owner, and event on in the village- street party/ dance competition. Privileged to share in this!
A beautiful setting, boutique style very beautiful, all exceptionally clean and good quality. Pool and poolside shades & sunbeds lovely. Gorgeous pool! Stunning views! Large comfy room! Stunning bathroom! Quality thick towels! Friendly staff. Easy parking

AustraliaThere was nothing to dislike about this property and the experience which will go down as one of our most successful impulse stays ever taken.
We made the decision to stay at Antico Borgo dei Templi on the spur of the moment having found ourselves in Agrigento in the late afternoon having not completed our sightseeing and reluctant to drive the 170 odd Kms back to Trapani where we were staying. Our journey to the property was a bit intimidating as we drove higher and higher into the hills, but nothing could have prepared us for the surprise when we actually reached Antico Borgo dei Templi which is a genuine oasis nestled in the hills above Agrigento with views across to the bay and probably some of the most spectacular panorama to be seen in Sicily. We were warmly met on arrival and treated with great courtesy by the family that own the property and could not have been more content with our room and the wonderful facilities offered. I cannot recommend too highly Antico Borgo dei Templi and the wonderful family who own and run it, it was a genuine pleasure to stay there.

RomaniaVery nice location, on the top of the hill with a great view to the sea. Short drive from nearest beaches. Well equiped rooms, nice swimming pool area. The restaurant owned by the same family serves very delicious food. We really recommend this place with children.

ArgentinaGoing uphill to Giardina is NOT for the faint hearted. There are two roads> a long, steep and winding one (where two cars cannot pass simultaneously) and the regular Strada Provinciale. We did not know this beforehand and took the difficult road. Once at the property we were adviced on how to get there through the easy road and that made a difference. I would suggest the property send these directions along their welcome message so travellers can have a smoother arrival.
The superb hospitality of the staff, in particularly Calogero, made our stay exceptional. We were contacted by them ahead of our arrival to inform us that there had been a problem at the property and they could offer a refund or lodging in another property nearby until they could fix the problem. We took the second alternative and stayed for the first night in their smaller bed and breakfast. The problem was fixed overnight and they even took our bags from one place to the other. The original hotel is very beatiful with an unsurpassable view of the hills and Agrigento. Large, comfortable room with lots of towels. Nice breakfast. Everything was very clean.

SpainIt was difficult to find on the satnav. For no discernible reason if you’re travelling from the west, google maps takes you up a dirt track the wrong side of the mountain. There’s a much easier route coming straight from Agrigento if you can find it!
Fabulous views from the breakfast terrace and close to the Valley of the Temples. Large rooms in modern industrial design with excellent bathrooms The local trattoria did good traditional food and takeaway pizzas. The manager/owner was very helpful and enterprising.

AustraliaThere was an extension cord that wasn’t attached to a power point which was unusable. This limited our options for charging technology. We would recommend some wine glasses and a knife to cut cheese or fruit.
We had a private terrace and the view was exceptional! Challenging drive up but worth it! Comfortable bed very clean and modern? Lovely breakfast included.

United StatesThe location is difficult to navigate to, but the staff were wonderful and sent us directions including a video. While the location is not really convenient, it also ends up being charming and an adventure in getting to and from the Valley of the Temples. The owners also have a trattoria within walking distance that is delicious and fun. It felt like the whole village was there the night we ate dinner. The breakfast in the morning was also delicious. With a view of the whole area from the terrace, it is a great way to start the day. The whole experience was excellent.

EstoniaAntico Borgo dei Templi is a truly enchanting place near Agrigento, nestled in a charming mountain village. We stayed in the King room with a spa bath, offering breathtaking views and pure relaxation in the hot tub. The breakfast was delightful and delicious, and the general interior is both beautiful and unique. Sending our best wishes from Estonia (@fallinlovewithearth)

GermanyNothing to dislike. Go there and relax :)
Perfect 10/10. Had a very relaxed stay. Very rural and quiet. I’d recommend to stay for at least 2 nights. Go for the beach or some city (e.g. Agrigento) during the day (everything interesting is aprox. 20 min around the corner)and come back in the evening to enjoy the view and eat authentic (extremely good) food in their restaurant around the corner. Calogero was a great host with -impeccable- hospitality. Very friendly and open. Everything in the room was in perfect working condition and the bed was great. Go and relax. Forget expectation or comparisons, just relax and enjoy :)
