Each review score is between 1 and 10. To get the overall score you see, we add up all the review scores we’ve received and divide that total by the number of them. We use a weighted review system, which means the more recent the review, the bigger the impact on the total review score calculation. Guests can also give separate “subscores” in crucial areas like location, cleanliness, staff, comfort, facilities, value, and free Wifi. Note that guests submit their subscores and overall scores independently, so there’s no direct link between them.
You can review an accommodation that you booked through our platform if you stayed there, or if you got to the property but didn’t actually stay there. To edit a review you’ve already submitted, contact our Customer Service team.
We have people and automated systems that specialize in detecting fake reviews submitted to our platform. If we find any, we delete them and, if necessary, take action against whoever is responsible.
Anyone who spots something suspicious can always report it to our Customer Service team so that our fraud team can investigate.
Ideally, we'd publish every review we get, positive and negative. However, we won’t display any reviews that include or refer to (among other things):
- Politically sensitive comments
- Promotional content
- Illegal activities
- Personal or sensitive info (e.g. emails, phone numbers, credit card info)
- Swear words, sexual references, hate speech, discriminatory remarks, threats, or references to violence
- Spam and fake content
- Animal cruelty
- Impersonation (i.e. if the writer is claiming to be someone else)
- Any violation of our review guidelines.
To make sure reviews are relevant, we may only accept reviews that are submitted within 3 months of checking out. We may stop showing reviews once they’re 36 months old, or if the accommodation has a change of ownership.
An accommodation can reply to a review.
When you see multiple reviews, the most recent ones will be at the top, subject to a few other factors (e.g. language, whether it’s just a rating or contains comments as well, etc.). You can sort and/or filter them by time of year, review score, and more.
Sometimes we show external review scores from other well-known travel websites, but make it clear when we do this.

Small TV which was old and didn’t have Netflix etc. we watched English music videos our whole stay . A microwave would be useful and an oven dish.

Spacious apartment with nice little outdoor space. It was cool inside even with AC off. The sound of nearby stream was great. Location was ideal. Close to everything but quiet and without crowds

It felt quite cold due to the time of year and we could not find out how to turn the radiators on

Apartment was in the basement so was quite dark

Oooh the bathroom offered very little privacy as it there were a couple of walls of frosted glass and only a sliding glass door

Would have been helpful to have more information about area and discount code for local train service when we checked in.
Great location,quieter area and away from train line noise and busy area of Vernazza but still convenient. Apartment was comfortable and cool and found the sound of the stream running outside very relaxing!

Easy walking distance from the train station but in the quieter part of town. Very nice to hear the nearby stream/river. Check in and check out were very easy and the host had some helpful suggestions. I would definitely stay there again!

A fantastic location, just a few minutes walk from the station but most importantly in a peaceful location away from the busy day-tripping crowds of Vernazza. Very tranquil setting with a stream running outside, the sound of which we found so peaceful and helped us sleep too! A couple of local cafes close by for breakfast too - although it’s only a few minutes walk into the village to pick up some focaccia. A lovely apartment with excellent facilities including air conditioning, although we did not need that as the room was lovely and cool, which was perfect when returning after a long walk. The bed is a bit unusual being sunk into the floor but it certainly didn’t affect our sleep. Wonderful hosts who were very helpful. We found it the perfect location to explore the Cinque Terre (walking) and Vernazza is lovely during the evenings once the crowds have moved on.

Loose toilet seat, mirror over bath sink not hung at a useful height.
Best wifi ever, very stylish, comfortable bed once I learned how to get up. Well equipped kitchen.

Nothing I saw that could be improved upon. Like I said, it's a little dark. We didn't notice a dank smell, but I imagine some sensitive people might think it smells like basement. It has a quirky raised floor in the bath and bed area. Why is the bed set into the floor? No idea, but for us it wasn't a problem.
I told the property manager when we would start hiking from Monterosso and gave her a call when we arrived in Vernazza. She met us a few minutes later and took us to the apartment. It's just up the main street, away from the crowds, which we prefer. No view, and the apartment is a tad dark, but who's spending the day inside anyway?? It was roomy and clean and had some quirks, but we had no problems. We didn't end up cooking there, but the kitchen seemed adequately equipped. Bed was comfy. Would recommend!

Better quality toiletries
Really quirky apartment with excellent much needed air con. Nearer enough but far enough from centre and therefore really peaceful. Was very spacious with loads of storage and hanging space and coat hangers provided. Comfy bed.
