How guest reviews work
Each review score is between 1-10. To get the overall score that you see, we add up all the review scores we’ve received and divide that total by the number of review scores we’ve received. We use a weighted review system which means that the more recent the review, the bigger the impact on the total review score calculation. In addition, guests can give separate ‘subscores’ in crucial areas, such as location, cleanliness, staff, comfort, facilities, value for money and free Wi-Fi. Note that guests submit their subscores and their overall scores independently, so there’s no direct link between them.
You can review an Accommodation that you booked through our Platform if you stayed there or if you arrived at the property but didn’t actually stay there. To edit a review you’ve already submitted, please contact our Customer Service team.
We have people and automated systems that specialise in detecting fake reviews submitted to our Platform. If we find any, we delete them and, if necessary, take action against whoever is responsible.
Anyone else who spots something suspicious can always report it to our Customer Service team, so our Fraud team can investigate.
Ideally, we would publish every review we receive, whether positive or negative. However, we won’t display any review that includes or refers to (among other things):
- Politically sensitive comments
- Promotional content
- Illegal activities
- Personal or sensitive information (e.g. emails, phone numbers or credit card info)
- Swear words, sexual references, hate speech, discriminatory remarks, threats, or references to violence
- Spam and fake content
- Animal cruelty
- Impersonation (e.g. if the writer is claiming to be someone else)
- Any violation of our review guidelines.
To make sure reviews are relevant, we may only accept reviews that are submitted within 3 months of checking out, and we may stop showing reviews once they’re 36 months old – or if the Accommodation has a change of ownership.
An Accommodation may choose to reply to a review.
When you see multiple reviews, the most recent ones will be at the top, subject to a few other factors (what language a review is in, whether it’s just a rating or contains comments as well, etc.). If you like, you can sort and/or filter them (by time of year, review score, etc.).
We sometimes show external review scores from other well-known travel websites. We make it clear when we’ve done this.
Guidelines and standards for Reviews
These guidelines and standards aim to keep the content on Booking.com relevant and family-friendly without limiting expression of strong opinions. They are also applicable regardless of the sentiment of the comment.
Contributions should be travel related. The most helpful contributions are detailed and help others make better decisions. Please don’t include personal, political, ethical, or religious commentary. Promotional content will be removed and issues concerning Booking.com’s services should be routed to our Customer Service or Accommodation Service teams.
Contributions should be appropriate for a global audience. Please avoid using profanity or attempts to approximate profanity with creative spelling, in any language. Comments and media that include 'hate speech', discriminatory remarks, threats, sexually explicit remarks, violence, and the promotion of illegal activity are not permitted.
All content should be genuine and unique to the guest. Reviews are most valuable when they are original and unbiased. Your contribution should be yours. Booking.com property partners should not post on behalf of guests or offer incentives in exchange for reviews. Attempts to bring down the rating of a competitor by submitting a negative review will not be tolerated.
Respect the privacy of others. Booking.com will make an effort to obscure email addresses, telephone numbers, website addresses, social media accounts, and similar details.
The opinions expressed in contributions are those of Booking.com customers and properties and not of Booking.com. Booking.com does not accept responsibility or liability for any reviews or responses. Booking.com is a distributor (without any obligation to verify) and not a publisher of these comments and responses.
By default, reviews are sorted based on the date of the review and on additional criteria to display the most relevant reviews, including but not limited to: your language, reviews with text, and non-anonymous reviews. Additional sorting options may be available (by type of traveller, by score, etc.).

Verified reviewIt was in the most perfect location you turned the corner and the colosseum was there, close to shops and within 2 minutes of trains. The host was great and helped with recommendations for us and checked in throughout.

Verified reviewThe host was nice. He provided me with everything we needed. He was available when I needed him too. He made sure we were having a good time during our vacation.
We are used to colder air-conditioned. I think this was one thing that could improve.

Verified reviewThe room was very tidy and comfortable. There is a very efficient air conditioner in the room which was a crucial issue for us during a heat weave in the beginning of July. Location is great, close to the metro, train station, bus stop and of course to a couple of tourist attractions in the area. Contact with the host was on a high level.
There are some noises from outside like traffics and sirens. It might be problematic when somebody would like to sleep with an open balcony door, but because of the heat wave and air conditioner we kept windows closed during sleep time.

Verified reviewGreat location close by (restaurants, historic sites, bakeries, shops,..) and it’s a very short walk to a bus or metro that can get you everywhere in Rome. Cute little balcony with a beautiful view of the Archbasilica Cathedral. Spacious modern and clean room. The separate shared kitchen had everything you needed. Good communication with Giuliano. He gave us all the necessary and clear instructions for check in and during the stay kept checking if everything was ok. We had a very pleasant stay. Aria Rome Rooms - highly recommended!
I like everything.

Verified reviewEverything was excellent. The location is a big plus, great connections with bus, tram and metro. It is at 2 metro stops from Termini so you can easily avoid paying a taxi (around 40 eur with taxi) from/to airport, just take a bus from airport to Termini then the metro. Walking distance to Colosseo and bonus, wonderful view to Basilica St G. Laterano. Good pizza restaurants near and highly recommend Cafè Laterano where a romanian lady served us very good sandwiches. The bus station is in the front of the coffee shop and there is a tabacco store from where you can buy transportation tickets. The room and kitchen were very clean and Giuliano is a great host, very communicative.
All perfect.

Verified reviewThe host Giuliano was very friendly and ready to answer all our questions. The location is central. The ac was working fine.
One of the bed's frames was broken, and the room was clean but looked tired and needed refreshment. The pillows were not comfortable, and the other bed was squeeking. For the price, I expected a bit more

Verified reviewThe location is fantastic, offering a nice view and easy access to public transportation, as well as being within walking distance of the Colosseum. The building is equipped with an elevator, making it easy to carry the luggage. The room was immaculate. The plus was having a balcony with a lovely view.
The Kitchen was shared, and the stove was not available for use. There was no tea provided. However, the coffee was nice, but with no cream.

Verified reviewWe visited Rome for the first time with our children and needed to be close to a metro station. The accommodation is only a few minutes' walk from two metro stations, and the Colosseum is just a 10-minute walk away! The view from the accommodation is fantastic, as all reviews mention, featuring a beautiful white church with magnificent statues atop it. The room is modern, very clean, spacious, and has a high ceiling. A charming restaurant, bakery, and bar called 'Sangio' is on the corner, and we loved their food. Giuliano was extremely helpful throughout our stay, making it stress-free. This is a great accommodation option in Rome, highly recommended for anyone, especially first-time visitors with families.

Verified reviewNice view! Room with decent size. Near to the Coliseum and metro station "Manzoni". An old authentic building with a feel of Rome. Shared fully equipped kitchen available.
Noisy location, near a hospital with an emergency. Ambulance sirens are constantly heard. The room was not cleaned during our stay. No supplies such as toilet paper were added. The landlord sent too many messages, asking for exact arrival time and requesting photos of our personal identification documents.

Need better shades to darker thé room or reduce outside noise. Was hard to get a good night sleep. Three of us only had one hook to hang towels, at least one more would be useful.

Verified reviewThis was a lovely room with a fantastic view, great location for visiting wherever you wanted to go, with the Manzoni Metro station just down the road and the Colosseum within walking distance - and plenty of Cafes and restaurants nearby (Spaccio was really good). Lovely balcony to sit outside in the morning sun and have a coffee from the kitchen. Basilica di San Giovanni in Laterano across the road is amazing!
All great

Verified reviewThe location was excellent — just a 15-minute walk to the Colosseum and very close to the Manzoni subway station, making it easy to get almost anywhere in the city. The main room of the apartment was quite clean, which added to the comfort of our stay.
The bathroom was not clean, and there was visible mold on the walls and door, which was disappointing. Additionally, it was strange that our friends, who were staying in another apartment at HoneyComb GuestHouse, weren’t allowed to visit us even briefly for a coffee, as the host said it was against the condominium rules.
