Read more– opens a dialog boxEach review score is between 1 and 10. To get the overall score you see, we add up all the review scores we’ve received and divide that total by the number of them. We use a weighted review system, which means the more recent the review, the bigger the impact on the total review score calculation. Guests can also give separate “subscores” in crucial areas like location, cleanliness, staff, comfort, facilities, value, and free Wifi. Note that guests submit their subscores and overall scores independently, so there’s no direct link between them.
You can review an accommodation that you booked through our platform if you stayed there, or if you got to the property but didn’t actually stay there. To edit a review you’ve already submitted, contact our Customer Service team.
We have people and automated systems that specialize in detecting fake reviews submitted to our platform. If we find any, we delete them and, if necessary, take action against whoever is responsible.
Anyone who spots something suspicious can always report it to our Customer Service team so that our fraud team can investigate.
Ideally, we'd publish every review we get, positive and negative. However, we won’t display any reviews that include or refer to (among other things):
To make sure reviews are relevant, we may only accept reviews that are submitted within 3 months of checking out. We may stop showing reviews once they’re 36 months old, or if the accommodation has a change of ownership.
An accommodation can reply to a review.
When you see multiple reviews, the most recent ones will be at the top, subject to a few other factors (e.g. language, whether it’s just a rating or contains comments as well, etc.). You can sort and/or filter them by time of year, review score, and more.
Sometimes we show external review scores from other well-known travel websites, but make it clear when we do this.
These guidelines and standards aim to keep the content on Booking.com relevant and family-friendly, without limiting expression or strong opinions. They're also applicable regardless of the comment's tone.
Contributions should be travel related. The most helpful contributions are detailed and help others make better decisions. Please don’t include personal, political, ethical, or religious commentary. Promotional content will be removed and issues concerning Booking.com’s services should be routed to our Customer Service or Accommodation Service teams.
Contributions should be appropriate for a global audience. Please avoid using profanity or attempts to approximate profanity with creative spelling, in any language. Comments and media that include hate speech, discriminatory remarks, threats, sexually explicit remarks, violence, or the promotion of illegal activity are not permitted.
All content should be genuine and unique to the guest. Reviews are most valuable when they are original and unbiased. Your contribution should be yours. Booking.com property partners should not post on behalf of guests or offer incentives in exchange for reviews. Attempts to bring down the rating of a competitor by submitting a negative review will not be tolerated.
Respect the privacy of others. Booking.com will make an effort to obscure email addresses, telephone numbers, website addresses, social media accounts, and other similar details.
The opinions expressed in contributions are those of Booking.com customers and properties, and not of Booking.com. Booking.com does not accept responsibility or liability for any reviews or responses. Booking.com is a distributor (without any obligation to verify) and not a publisher of these comments and responses.
By default, reviews are sorted based on the date of the review and on additional criteria to display the most relevant reviews, including but not limited to: your language, reviews with text, and non-anonymous reviews. Additional sorting options might be available (by type of traveler, by score, etc...).

United StatesThe space is eclectic and nice, but I did not expect the bathroom and kitchen to be a shared -- which didn't matter as there was no one else there, but it would have not been as good if there had been. The stairs are a bit unerving as the first few steps are glass that creaks when you step on them, and we had two heavy suitcases but there is nowhere to leave them downstairs. The road is NOT really a road, but a pedestrian alley which starts with four or five steps from the main thoroughfare, making it not great if you have luggage. To catch a taxi you have to walk a few blocks, since the main street is not technically pedestrian but there are SO MANY people that it's hard to get there by car (yet our taxi driver did do it on the way in). We could see the rats just outside the window, which was pretty gross, but... big old city and a construction site outside the bedroom window.
Fruit, coffee, tea and some packaged biscuits were provided for breakfast, but we opted to go out. The host was great, very attentive and sent us great suggestions of places to visit and where to east. Love the extensive art displays all over the house!

AustraliaFantastic location in the historic centre with only a short walk from the closest taxi drop off point. Small but comfortable room with a private bathroom. The window opens onto a courtyard, so we were able to have plenty of fresh air at night. Our host Beppe was extremely helpful. He arranged a driver to collect us at the airport (cost similar to standard taxi), recommended local restaurants which were excellent and was always available to answer any of our questions.

United StatesBeppe is an excellent host! He was so friendly and gave excellent recommendations for restaurants in Palermo. He even left some fresh fruits and cookies for us when we arrived. The room is small but charming with beautiful decorations and the bed is comfortable. The location is excellent, just a couple minutes walk from Quattro Canti, the Palermo Cathedral, Norman Palace, and Ballaro market, but it's down a very quiet pedestrian side street away from the crowds. I'd recommend this guesthouse and would love to stay here again next time I visit!

United KingdomNo complaints at all. Beppe is a wonderful host and very attentive - so no complaints there at all!
The apartment was wonderfully located and convenient. Despite being close to the Via Vito Emmanuele, it was quiet and comfortable. The balcony is great for a glass of wine! I would recommend renting with another couple as you can have a great time together but also enough space to do things apart.

United KingdomJust one thing - there was some construction noise, loud air-con from a neighbouring property overnight, and a relatively small bed, if you're sensitive about night-time noise then this may be an issue.
Really well located right next to the Cathedral. Our host was very kind and helpful, and very responsive. The room was small but everything we needed was there, including some fruit and biscuits to go with the tea/coffee provided. It was in a beautifully converted house in a quiet street. Highly recommended!

PolandThe structure is located in a small alley, just a few meters from the main street of Palermo. It's a quiet, tidy, and modern accommodation situated in a historical city centre, well-equipped with AC, coffee maker, fridge, strong wifi signal and other elements making the stay comfortable. The host was very helpful throughout the stay, responsive and accommodating. The room looked exactly as presented in the pictures, and was a good value for the price.

AustraliaSome neighbourly noises - but Palermo is a crowded space.
Beppe is the perfect host - informative & available. The shared apartment (2 bedrooms ) is ideally located in Palermo’s most interesting area, yet unbelievably quiet. Everything necessary was provided, including water, juice , fruit & biscotti on arrival. The apartment was impeccably presented and has an established international clientele. Well worth it!

TurkeyThere is absolutely nothing to complain about.
My husband and I enjoyed a delightful four-night stay at the Arimatea. Having visited Italy on numerous occasions and stayed in various accommodations across the country, we possess a basis for comparison. I must express that the Arimatea not only met but exceeded all of my expectations, providing a truly exceptional experience. Situated along a calm, historic local street, the Arimatea boasts a great location, with proximity to main avenues and key historical sites within the city. Our Oriental room, overlooking the Salvatore Church and the charming local quarter, was cozy and comfortable. The attention to detail was remarkable – from the fully stocked amenities upon our arrival (including water, coffee capsules for the excellent coffee machine, fresh fruits, biscuits, muesli, cutlery, cups etc.) to the meticulously maintained interior. Every facet of the room, including the shower, toilet, air conditioning, refrigerator, and Wi-Fi connectivity, functioned just perfectly. Regular cleaning was executed diligently, leaving no room for hygiene concerns. Furthermore, Beppe, the owner of the Arimatea, is an excellent host. You can easily talk to him, and he responds to messages really fast. He is always ready to help you out in any way possible, just feel free to ask him - I am quite confident he will do his utmost to assist you. He knows a lot about Palermo since he was born and raised there. He can help you with advice about your plans, like how to easily see historical sites and enjoy the sea without a car. He is also knowledgeable about local food, and most importantly, he is an architect who can tell you about the city's history and culture. His suggestions helped us discover hidden gems that most tourists don't know about. In short, I would give more than 10 points to Arimatea if I could. Palermo is an incredible multilayered city with many stories to share, and I am glad we visited it and stayed at such a welcoming place.

GermanyThis did not bother us, but something to keep in mind is that there are quite some stairs to climb (they are more stable than they look from the 1st sight though).
The location is great - right in the city centre, but on a side street, so it’s actually quiet in the room. The host, Beppe, was very welcoming and had not only some soft drinks, but also a bowl of sweets and fruit for us, which worked perfectly with the 1st espresso after our arrival. :) In general, Beppe was always very responsive and helpful, especially helping us switch to a studio apartment from a shared flat due to an error on Booking’s side. The room was spacious enough, constantly kept clean, the shower facilities were modern. The room itself was very nicely decorated, one could see that every detail was well thought of, everything arranged with a lot of care and personality, contrary to the usual tourist accommodation. It felt nice to get back after a busy day and relax. In general, good value for money, an overall pleasant stay at a great location. We only ever used a bus once to go to the Capuchins tombs, everything else in the city center was a max. of 25 min walk. Can recommend!

Right when I got there, proprietor Beppe gave me a bowl of fruit and a plate of pastries to enjoy at my leisure. Delicious! He also gave wonderful suggestions for seeing the city and was always available if I needed anything. A wonderfully quiet haven in the middle of the action.

NetherlandsThe bed was great and does fit two people who are not so tall/big . I am pretty tall and my wife is not short either so it was a bit snug, but still very doable.
We stayed in Palermo for just under a week. The location was basically at the city center located just off a vibrant street filled with great places to eat and fun shops! Our host Beppe was super welcoming and catered to our every need, including helping me getting a stain out of my shirt. 100% would recommend.
