Each review score is between 1-10. To get the overall score that you see, we add up all the review scores we’ve received and divide that total by the number of review scores we’ve received. We use a weighted review system which means that the more recent the review, the bigger the impact on the total review score calculation. In addition, guests can give separate ‘subscores’ in crucial areas, such as location, cleanliness, staff, comfort, facilities, value for money and free Wi-Fi. Note that guests submit their subscores and their overall scores independently, so there’s no direct link between them.
You can review an Accommodation that you booked through our Platform if you stayed there or if you arrived at the property but didn’t actually stay there. To edit a review you’ve already submitted, please contact our Customer Service team.
We have people and automated systems that specialise in detecting fake reviews submitted to our Platform. If we find any, we delete them and, if necessary, take action against whoever is responsible.
Anyone else who spots something suspicious can always report it to our Customer Service team, so our Fraud team can investigate.
Ideally, we would publish every review we receive, whether positive or negative. However, we won’t display any review that includes or refers to (among other things):
To make sure reviews are relevant, we may only accept reviews that are submitted within 3 months of checking out, and we may stop showing reviews once they’re 36 months old – or if the Accommodation has a change of ownership.
An Accommodation may choose to reply to a review.
When you see multiple reviews, the most recent ones will be at the top, subject to a few other factors (what language a review is in, whether it’s just a rating or contains comments as well, etc.). If you like, you can sort and/or filter them (by time of year, review score, etc.).
We sometimes show external review scores from other well-known travel websites. We make it clear when we’ve done this.
These guidelines and standards aim to keep the content on Booking.com relevant and family-friendly without limiting expression of strong opinions. They are also applicable regardless of the sentiment of the comment.
Contributions should be travel related. The most helpful contributions are detailed and help others make better decisions. Please don’t include personal, political, ethical, or religious commentary. Promotional content will be removed and issues concerning Booking.com’s services should be routed to our Customer Service or Accommodation Service teams.
Contributions should be appropriate for a global audience. Please avoid using profanity or attempts to approximate profanity with creative spelling, in any language. Comments and media that include 'hate speech', discriminatory remarks, threats, sexually explicit remarks, violence, and the promotion of illegal activity are not permitted.
All content should be genuine and unique to the guest. Reviews are most valuable when they are original and unbiased. Your contribution should be yours. Booking.com property partners should not post on behalf of guests or offer incentives in exchange for reviews. Attempts to bring down the rating of a competitor by submitting a negative review will not be tolerated.
Respect the privacy of others. Booking.com will make an effort to obscure email addresses, telephone numbers, website addresses, social media accounts, and similar details.
The opinions expressed in contributions are those of Booking.com customers and properties and not of Booking.com. Booking.com does not accept responsibility or liability for any reviews or responses. Booking.com is a distributor (without any obligation to verify) and not a publisher of these comments and responses.
By default, reviews are sorted based on the date of the review and on additional criteria to display the most relevant reviews, including but not limited to: your language, reviews with text, and non-anonymous reviews. Additional sorting options may be available (by type of traveller, by score, etc.).

United KingdomWe had a wonderful stay and Mariangela is one of the most caring and sweetest hosts we’ve ever met. This B&B is beautiful, full of history and character, and decorated with incredible taste. You can feel the love and care put into every detail of the place. The location is extremely central in Siena's walled city and we got to truly absorb every bit of the place. The Duomo di Siena, Piazza del Campo and all other historical and touristic sites are at a stone's throw distance from the place. From the moment we arrived, she made sure everything was perfectly arranged, and when we unfortunately fell sick during our trip, she went above and beyond what we could have expected—checking on us, arranging everything we needed, and making sure we were comfortable at all times. Her kindness and attention made all the difference in our stay. She also referred us to some amazing trattorias close by where you can get the authentic Tuscan food experience! If you are looking not just for a lovely place to stay, but also for a host who truly cares about her guests, this is the perfect choice. We are so grateful for her hospitality and cannot recommend it highly enough.

IrelandOur host was amazing , she couldn’t have done more for us and she really assisted us with restaurant recommendations. We stayed during the Palio and she gave us such a good insight of how to navigate the festival. The location is perfect for Palio as it is less than a 5 minute walk to the square however the hotel is super quiet while being so central to everything. The room had everything you needed and was very comfortable, the air conditioning works really well. We will be back.

United StatesNothing. If you want a nice and simple B&B in a great location with a lovely host, this is the place.
Such a wonderful host! Helpful, friendly and lovely. She also helped us to get a table at a restaurant that night, which we hadn’t been able to get a table at ourselves. The B&B is brilliantly situated, minutes walk from everything you need to see.

AustraliaUp on 1 st floor like most places are in Italy and no lift.
MarieAngela is the perfect hostess, explaining everything and making dinner reservations. She always greeted you with a big smile and help you sort out any queries you had. The room is comfortable and with the windows closed it’s not noisy, but you have to remember it’s in the heart of the Old city. The room was big and the bathroom had warm tiles which was a nice touch. The breakfast was good and healthy and there was always time to speak to Marie Angela.

United KingdomRoad outside was surprisingly noisy at busy times, but amazing double glazing and aircon meant this wasn't an issue.
Perfect location in the centre of Sienna and beautiful vernacular historic house. Marie-Angela was the perfect host, kind, attentive and helpful. She works incredibly hard and fully deserves the excellent reviews. This is not a showy modern hotel, but a well loved, very Italian B&B. Loved it.

United StatesWe were in a lovely, quiet, very old (but modernized) building, in a great location in Siena. Our room was comfortable with lots of closet space. We enjoyed the communal kitchen (including kettle), and the breakfast served to us in the cozy breakfast room. Our host was kind enough (and generous with her time) to make a lot of phone calls so we could have a lunch and a dinner reservation. She also pointed out locations on a map, including how we could find our bus for our trip back to Florence. All in all, a very enjoyable stay!

CanadaAs with many hotels around the world, hair dryers are always an adventure. The hairdryer was unique.
The hostess really made our stay exceptional. MariAngela's hospitality was the best we experienced in our 3 weeks traveling in Italy. She helped us with a last minute request and we are so very thankful. The location was perfect and close to all the main sights. Siena is a beautiful city with a rich history and nearby Val d'Orcia is breathtaking.

United StatesNothing in our opinion.
Mariangela is a sweetheart and just meeting her was worth the visit to Siena. The history in Siena is truly amazing and the location of the house - right in the historic district - was perfect. The ambiance of being in a house that was built is the 12th century is something we’ve never experienced and it was special for my husband and me.

United KingdomI stayed here with my daughter 14 - 16 October. Beautiful place in an excellent location. Mariangela was absolutely fantastic. What a lovely hard working lady. She really made our trip. She was so helpful and always smiling and courteous. The room was beautiful, big with a great sized bathroom. The breakfast was lovely, served by Mariangela who was attentive and couldn't do enough for us. She made us a reservation at a local restaurant, gave us tips on places to visit and on the last day ensured were were able to get a taxi to the rail station. All in all such a beautiful place to stay which was hospitality at its finest with the most superb host. Thank you and hope to see you again Paula and Christine.

The property was very well located, very comfortable, but the most memorable aspect will be the host. I have travelled a lot, stayed at lots of properties, and I can’t remember one where the host went so far out of her way to ensure I had a pleasant stay. Let me give you one example. The host organised a driver to take me through the Tuscan countryside which perhaps isn’t that unusual, but not any driver, one that was knowledgeable and great company. She had explained to me where he would pick me up, not far from the property, no problem for me to find it, but when the time came she insisted on walking me there to ensure all went well. I thanked her, said I would be fine, so she reluctantly returned to the property only to be back in ten minutes or so to explain the driver was caught in traffic and a little late. I will be encouraging my wife and daughter to stay there next time they travel.

United StatesThe parking. We knew Siena is best toured without a.car, but we needed a car for traveling outside the city. Our host gave us several helpful hints though. If you have a car just know that you may have to walk a few minutes to reach the B&B and you will have to pay for parking.

United KingdomWe enjoyed every part of the hotel. There was no lift, but with only one floor this was not a problem for us. The town is very hilly and probably quite difficult for people with limited mobility.
Our host Marie-Angela was very helpful throughout, showing us the city layout in a tourist map, pointing out the major sights and best vantage points. She helped us book a table in one of the most popular restaurants and gave us directions and suggestions. The hotel was based in a very old and authentic building, updated to modern standards very sympathetically and almost invisibly. It was in the centre of the city, on the main thoroughfare, but just away from the sources of noise.
