How guest reviews work
Each review score is between 1-10. To get the overall score that you see, we add up all the review scores we’ve received and divide that total by the number of review scores we’ve received. We use a weighted review system which means that the more recent the review, the bigger the impact on the total review score calculation. In addition, guests can give separate ‘subscores’ in crucial areas, such as location, cleanliness, staff, comfort, facilities, value for money and free Wi-Fi. Note that guests submit their subscores and their overall scores independently, so there’s no direct link between them.
You can review an Accommodation that you booked through our Platform if you stayed there or if you arrived at the property but didn’t actually stay there. To edit a review you’ve already submitted, please contact our Customer Service team.
We have people and automated systems that specialise in detecting fake reviews submitted to our Platform. If we find any, we delete them and, if necessary, take action against whoever is responsible.
Anyone else who spots something suspicious can always report it to our Customer Service team, so our Fraud team can investigate.
Ideally, we would publish every review we receive, whether positive or negative. However, we won’t display any review that includes or refers to (among other things):
- Politically sensitive comments
- Promotional content
- Illegal activities
- Personal or sensitive information (e.g. emails, phone numbers or credit card info)
- Swear words, sexual references, hate speech, discriminatory remarks, threats, or references to violence
- Spam and fake content
- Animal cruelty
- Impersonation (e.g. if the writer is claiming to be someone else)
- Any violation of our review guidelines.
To make sure reviews are relevant, we may only accept reviews that are submitted within 3 months of checking out, and we may stop showing reviews once they’re 36 months old – or if the Accommodation has a change of ownership.
An Accommodation may choose to reply to a review.
When you see multiple reviews, the most recent ones will be at the top, subject to a few other factors (what language a review is in, whether it’s just a rating or contains comments as well, etc.). If you like, you can sort and/or filter them (by time of year, review score, etc.).
We sometimes show external review scores from other well-known travel websites. We make it clear when we’ve done this.
Guidelines and standards for Reviews
These guidelines and standards aim to keep the content on Booking.com relevant and family-friendly without limiting expression of strong opinions. They are also applicable regardless of the sentiment of the comment.
Contributions should be travel related. The most helpful contributions are detailed and help others make better decisions. Please don’t include personal, political, ethical, or religious commentary. Promotional content will be removed and issues concerning Booking.com’s services should be routed to our Customer Service or Accommodation Service teams.
Contributions should be appropriate for a global audience. Please avoid using profanity or attempts to approximate profanity with creative spelling, in any language. Comments and media that include 'hate speech', discriminatory remarks, threats, sexually explicit remarks, violence, and the promotion of illegal activity are not permitted.
All content should be genuine and unique to the guest. Reviews are most valuable when they are original and unbiased. Your contribution should be yours. Booking.com property partners should not post on behalf of guests or offer incentives in exchange for reviews. Attempts to bring down the rating of a competitor by submitting a negative review will not be tolerated.
Respect the privacy of others. Booking.com will make an effort to obscure email addresses, telephone numbers, website addresses, social media accounts, and similar details.
The opinions expressed in contributions are those of Booking.com customers and properties and not of Booking.com. Booking.com does not accept responsibility or liability for any reviews or responses. Booking.com is a distributor (without any obligation to verify) and not a publisher of these comments and responses.
By default, reviews are sorted based on the date of the review and on additional criteria to display the most relevant reviews, including but not limited to: your language, reviews with text, and non-anonymous reviews. Additional sorting options may be available (by type of traveller, by score, etc.).

Verified reviewIt was a lovely room on the edge of the old town. Lots of character but comfortable and quiet. We were able to check in early, which was great.
All was great.
Thank you so much Matthew!!

Verified reviewClose to the historic center
*Archetto Bianco* If you want to pay for a room that is not cheap compared to others in the area. Book Archetto Bianco. A room that you go down two steps straight from the street with no windows for ventilation. The bathroom window is small and everyone can see. The shower is small. Broken ceramics with repairs in the room. The paint is peeling off the walls in some places. Except for an old coffee capsule machine, there is not a single fork or knife, let alone a stove or microwave. The head of the bed is loose and moves with every movement and you have to turn on the vent to get rid of the unpleasant smell in the room.
I am sorry you had a bad experience. I suggest you next time to better understand the place where you stay. Ours is a guest house that does not provide all the services you have listed. Furthermore, it is a building from 1700 located in the historic center that has particular architectural characteristics. If you wanted a building of the highest quality and with all the comforts, you certainly would not spend the small amount that you spent here. I wish you a good life, perhaps with more care in your choices.

Verified reviewGiorgio is a kind and highly responsive host. He promptly addressed the unfortunate problems that arose during our visit. The unit has a wonderful location in the historic district of Martina Franca, and is also close to new city amenities, restaurants, and services.
The outside door has both a keyed and electric lock, but it’s not obvious that there’s only an electric lock to exit. Due to thunderstorms, the power went out briefly several times right after we checked in, and again while we were out exploring during the second day. That was disconcerting enough, but the disruption also shut off our hot water and disabled the air con, making our second day and night rather uncomfortable. However, Georgia promptly addressed all our problems and even brought us wonderful cookies to apologize for the inconvenience.
Thank you so much for this fair review. Unfortunately due to the bad weather in those days we had inconveniences, but I did everything to fix it. Thank you thank you thank you

Verified reviewcozy, comfortable and good choice for a short stay, max 2 nights there would be perfectly fine!
The location is great , yet a little hard to reach since its in the middle of the old city. definitely hard to reach by car. I recommend parking wherever you find a spot nearby and walking there, so, be sure to travel light.

Verified reviewIt was very well located.
It was a ground floor, terribly cold and humid (two tiny windows). There two tiny radiators (one in the toilet and one for the bedroom) but not enough. I guess in summer is fine, not in early May. It was our fault, we should have upgraded the booking.
Dear Zoe, I'm sorry to dispute your review, but the room you chose cannot objectively be damp and cold. There is a heat pump heating system, and even if it is in operation for many hours it can cause the opposite problem, i.e. the air dries out. You just didn't turn on the heat. As I always tell guests, if there is a problem call me, I answer even at night, but you didn't. You don't grow up with bad things..

Verified reviewEverything was wonderful!!! We were extremely satisfied. Owner Giorgio made sure our stay at Martina Franca was carefree. The hygiene of the room was top notch, for our long stay of 10 days, our room was cleaned to the ground 4-5 times. He was always available, even when we forgot our key and couldn't get home (hahah), he also drove us to the airport in the middle of the night because of the lack of trains and buses at that time. We were impressed by the hospitality. The location is great. You can feel the Italian atmosphere. The location is perfect for those who want to immerse themselves in Italy!
Thank you so much guys! you are ever welcome!!

Verified reviewGiorgio is a wonderful host. He carried my suitcase up, checked how I was doing and when I told him I like to drink tea, he brought me a kettle. The room is at the edge of the old centre and just a few minutes walk from interesting sites. The room is not suitable for people who are less mobile.
For people travelling by train: be aware that the train station is in a lower part of the city. It is about a fifteen minute walk to the accommodation. Much of that walk is uphill and those hills are sometimes very steep.
Thank you so much Maria! ♥️ just for infomation, if a guest need help, i can come to the train station with my car. It's free!

Verified reviewExcellent room in the centre of the historic part of the city. A maze of tiny streets to supply a sense of adventure to your google maps trail. Giorgio was a great host and offered to pick me up from the station but I preferred to walk. It is a stone's throw away from most of the landmarks and plenty of restaurants etc.. nearby. Room was very clean and bed comfortable.
