Read more– opens a dialog boxEach review score is between 1 and 10. To get the overall score you see, we add up all the review scores we’ve received and divide that total by the number of them. We use a weighted review system, which means the more recent the review, the bigger the impact on the total review score calculation. Guests can also give separate “subscores” in crucial areas like location, cleanliness, staff, comfort, facilities, value, and free Wifi. Note that guests submit their subscores and overall scores independently, so there’s no direct link between them.
You can review an accommodation that you booked through our platform if you stayed there, or if you got to the property but didn’t actually stay there. To edit a review you’ve already submitted, contact our Customer Service team.
We have people and automated systems that specialize in detecting fake reviews submitted to our platform. If we find any, we delete them and, if necessary, take action against whoever is responsible.
Anyone who spots something suspicious can always report it to our Customer Service team so that our fraud team can investigate.
Ideally, we'd publish every review we get, positive and negative. However, we won’t display any reviews that include or refer to (among other things):
To make sure reviews are relevant, we may only accept reviews that are submitted within 3 months of checking out. We may stop showing reviews once they’re 36 months old, or if the accommodation has a change of ownership.
An accommodation can reply to a review.
When you see multiple reviews, the most recent ones will be at the top, subject to a few other factors (e.g. language, whether it’s just a rating or contains comments as well, etc.). You can sort and/or filter them by time of year, review score, and more.
Sometimes we show external review scores from other well-known travel websites, but make it clear when we do this.
These guidelines and standards aim to keep the content on Booking.com relevant and family-friendly, without limiting expression or strong opinions. They're also applicable regardless of the comment's tone.
Contributions should be travel related. The most helpful contributions are detailed and help others make better decisions. Please don’t include personal, political, ethical, or religious commentary. Promotional content will be removed and issues concerning Booking.com’s services should be routed to our Customer Service or Accommodation Service teams.
Contributions should be appropriate for a global audience. Please avoid using profanity or attempts to approximate profanity with creative spelling, in any language. Comments and media that include hate speech, discriminatory remarks, threats, sexually explicit remarks, violence, or the promotion of illegal activity are not permitted.
All content should be genuine and unique to the guest. Reviews are most valuable when they are original and unbiased. Your contribution should be yours. Booking.com property partners should not post on behalf of guests or offer incentives in exchange for reviews. Attempts to bring down the rating of a competitor by submitting a negative review will not be tolerated.
Respect the privacy of others. Booking.com will make an effort to obscure email addresses, telephone numbers, website addresses, social media accounts, and other similar details.
The opinions expressed in contributions are those of Booking.com customers and properties, and not of Booking.com. Booking.com does not accept responsibility or liability for any reviews or responses. Booking.com is a distributor (without any obligation to verify) and not a publisher of these comments and responses.
By default, reviews are sorted based on the date of the review and on additional criteria to display the most relevant reviews, including but not limited to: your language, reviews with text, and non-anonymous reviews. Additional sorting options might be available (by type of traveler, by score, etc...).

IrelandThe air con was extremely noisy in our room and really disrupted our sleep. It sounded like it was on the verge of breaking.
The place was lovely and so central. The host was great! Breakfast in local Cafe was good too. We loved the old fashioned finish to the rooms.

United StatesThe experience of climbing the stairs to B&B Arena Lucca, particularly for seniors, presents a physical challenge. However, the reward upon reaching the top is the immersion in Lucca’s old-world charm, with a spectacular view of the Piazza dell’ Anfiteatro.
The Baricentro offered a special breakfast, emphasizing its welcoming and friendly service. Location was an easy walk from the B&B.

United KingdomNothing it was perfect for our short stay …. did get a taxi from the train station and found it was well worth it. we are both 78 and the paving is not the best for dragging suit cases……
Breakfast was excellent for us, but you do have a few mins walk to the Cafe/Bar, it does open from 7-30 which was great on the day we left for Pisa Airport. Location is excellent for access to the main Piazza dell Anfiteatro….

United KingdomThe wardrobe wasn't tall enough to hang clothes properly. The bathroom is narrow but expected in an old building. Noise from the arena restaurants, but not too late as everywhere closed around 10.30pm. Restaurants setting up in a morning could be a bit noisy, but not too bad, and it didn't seem to start until around 8am onwards.
Loved it. The location, the building, and the room was very clean. Breakfast is not at the property but it's only a couple of minutes walk and it was lovely cafe with nice staff. Monica, who greets you, is lovely too. She has little English and we have very little Italian, but nothing Google Translate couldn't sort. There's a fridge with bottled water provided. Tea and coffee are provided. The coffee machine is in the lounge area. Our room was made up every day. We would definitely stay again.

Absolutely stunning hotel located in the original structure of the Amphitheatre. Authentic style rooms. Ours had a Juliet balcony overlooking the arena. Location was excellent, we walked everywhere. Monica the Manager/host/receptionist was brilliant. Breakfast is adequate but you have to go round the corner to a local cafe. DO NOT let this put you off staying at this wonderful hotel. I would definitely recommend and would definitely stay here again if visiting Lucca.

United KingdomNothing to dislike.
I like the personal contact from the owner, so often you are left alone to figure everything out! We had an amphitheater view double room. Staying at B&B di Lucca was a chance to stay in a genuine Lucca historic house. We arrived early after prearranging to leave our luggage ahead of check in time which was very helpful. The house was clean and fragrant and although our double room was quite small, it was comfortable . Nice to have a cosy armchair to sit in. Also the breakfast voucher for Barcentro pasticerria was most welcome, we had croissants filled with pistachio and coffee , you could have savoury items too, the pasticerria was not far to go.

AustraliaThis is an historic building so please note there is one flight of steep stairs to reach the B&B and the room is not like a modern hotel. Breakfast is Italian style at a local cafe who were very welcoming. We had a great time!!
Monica is a welcoming host and nothing is too much trouble. The location is wonderful overlooking the Anfiteatro, but quiet with the windows closed. The building is historic and quaint. Everything spotlessly clean. To reach from the station, minibus 3 leaves every 12 minutes from right outside the station to Piazza San Frediano which is a minute’s walk from the B&B. Great location for exploring Lucca and surrounds.

Location fabulous. Worth while checking that there is no live music events on first before booking unless that’s the purpose of your stay. (Club Music until 2.30am is not everyone’s cuppa) Host Monica was great and nothing was too much trouble.
