Siblings Ida and Luigi do it all! As a guest at their beautiful, spacious family home, atop the hillside, overlooking the olive groves and national park to one side, and the azure sea to the other, the location cannot be beat and you might not want to leave. A short walk to the beach or the historic center of the tremendous Agropoli, you can fully enjoy everything from hiking to swimming, sunbathing to taking in an otherworldly sunset with lovely local wine from above, the marina dotted with boats below. The room is cool and quiet, perfectly clean and comfortable. How could I have known I would be eating a professional chef’s cuisine, sourced from her garden on the premises and fish freshly caught from the sea, each night of my stay without having to do more than to choose from a delightful menu that she carefully curates and infuses with her love of cooking? It was truly splendid. Ida is a talented, creative chef that uses local ingredients and serves a 5 star meal twice daily - yes, breakfast, too! Her homemade breads are outrageously delicious and her seasoning so exact, I didn’t need salt for anything at all and that speaks to her spectacular skill. She plates like a Michelin starred restaurant, but her portions are more satisfying. You are not full and uncomfortable or wishing for more. She even packed me a lunch one day, polpette di alici?! It was outstanding, every bite I took from her kitchen. People rave about hidden gems, this is a real gem, not to be missed. Ida and Luigi are conversational, knowledgeable about the area and hosts that make you feel like a family member who has come home after a long time away. Paestum is nearby, 15 minutes driving. I hope to return again to B&B Belvedere, just to hike all day and come home for everything I crave in life - healthy, fresh, locally sourced food prepared and served with love to perfection, wine to complement every morsel, and enthusiastic people to share a singular experience.

    Having to leave it.

We enjoyed very much our stay at the B&B Belvedere, and in Agropoli. Ida and Luigi are great hosts, very helpful, welcoming and friendly. Breakfasts and optional dinners are excellent. Our room was comfortable, air-conditioned, clean with a nice terrace and hilltop views of the area, including the sea. We had an excellent vacation.
