Casa Vallona is a centuries-old family heritage, stunningly renovated. The room is magically beautiful, the breakfast is delicious and all this is in a beautiful Tuscan setting. Chiara, the owner, is very kind and helpful. It is faultless, I can only recommend it.

A clean and bright room in the middle of a beautiful and quiet area near Bologna (30 min from the airport with car). Plenty of green, birdsong in the morning, away from the hustle of the city. Chiara was a very friendly host, always helpful and shared a lot about the house, the garden, and the surrounding area. The house is filled with carefully selected objects/memorabilia - my personal favorite is the newspaper announcing the end of World War II in the dining room. Delicious and hearty breakfast with homemade pastries.

The environment is beautiful, the object itself, the nature and acommodation

Dinner tasting in the object is expensive, high prices for pretty much standard dishes. Natural and bio, ok, but that doesn't have to be that expensive

A magical place in the foothills of Bologna. We stayed three nights and took Chiara advice on a few restaurants that were on point. (Loves Zaihra ..the ladies are characters..tortellini in brodo and ice-cream with aged balsamic dribbles..yum) Delicious breakfast! I can taste lavender in the honey that I drizzled on my breakfast cake. Yes, windy roads that we are not used to but are so worth it.

Casa Vallona is located in a peaceful area in Monte San Pietro, just 40 minutes from Bologna. The location was perfect for relaxing away from the busy city life. Chiara was an amazing host and shared some of the history of the area and the house with us. Breakfast was excellent, with a variety of fresh products. We also did a wine tasting featuring wines produced by Casa Vallona—totally recommend it!

    1. The property was clean. 2. The breakfast was good.

    1. I had a very bad sleeping experience. I was given a cheap and low quality bed. The mattress of the bed was very thin and could not support properly my body. 2. The room we were given was in the basement of the property with very little view outside. The room was also right under the kitchen and in the morning it could get really noisy. 3. There is no a POS-like device in the property. We had to pay by cash for extras.

    Property response:

I am very disappointed by your review since you seemed very happy here and told me nothing but this frequently happens during big exhibitions such Cersaie when people get here because they do not find any place in town :(already a bad mood to start)The place you call “basement” is a ancient historical oven we restore in a conservative way with air conditioning, private garden, huge stone shower, small kitchen and fridge, coffee machine etc. Sorry if there are trees outside you cannot see the panorama but it is not a good reason to complain. The bed is with wood tiles and anallergic new matresses i am sorry you found it unconfortable but every one has his own taste. Next time i suggest a nice hotel for business and not a farm :) We DO have POS but not for the B&B stay YES for restaurant and products!! You did not buy any extra just had to pay the second person you did not pay for on booking.com

We loved the location and the history, we really enjoyed the breakfast and the hospitality and our dog loved the property

There were quite a lot of mosquitoes in August, however this is nothing that can be changed by the property and there are mosquito nets everywhere and even a mosquito repellent provided

The delicious home-made food is a real highlight, so make sure you taste breakfast, lunch and dinner when you stay there. Top quality local cuisine served on a cozy terrace makes you feel like home. Chiara the host very diligently took care of my special dietary requirements (pregnancy) which I really appreciated, she prepared dishes just for me which were safe and extremely tasty. The entire experience was amazing, Casa Vallona is a place with a soul where you can disconnect and just enjoy life. Will 100% come back. Thank you Chiara and family!!

It's definitely not a 9.2; it looks more like an 8.1. It's a basic room with breakfast consisting of a boiled egg and a few cookies. A 9.2 rating should be for a room with a chef's restaurant.

    Property response:

Really? After messing up all the apartment we gave you (you put water out and dirtiness everywhere) telling it was amazing and having a huge breakfast with fruits, vegetables, cakes, homemade bread and the rest, you have the courage to say this? You also took a bottle of wine without paying deciding by yourself this was in change of going away the last day before breakfast. Is this polite to you? Learn respect for people before travelling around.

This farm stay was the perfect tranquil getaway from several city center stays! Chiara is an incredible host who made us feel like we were staying with a long-time friend or fond family member. If we are near Bologna again, we will want to stay at her place again!

B&B Agriturismo Casa Vallona is not to be missed if you are in the area. Chiara, the host, was incredible. She takes pride in the renovation of her farmhouse and her family roots. The restoration is amazing! After we arrived, we took a walk around the property where she told us about the history of the house and her family and gathered some items from her garden that we used for our cooking experience. We had the downstairs apartment that was well-equipped with a fridge, microwave and small kitchen area. The bed was comfortable. This B&B is out in the country and is super quiet - a nice change from staying in one of the larger cities. This is a lovely place to relax and chill. We also did a cooking class with Chiara that was tailored to our requests that was quite fun and enjoyable. She loves what she does and makes it truly an "Italian" experience.

We were really touched by the warmth and hospitality of host Chiara in her ancient family home in which we felt so welcome and which Chiara shared generously with us. Casa Vallona is a less than 1 hour drive from Bologna in the midst of the Bologna Hills. It is in an idyllic setting and the farmhouse is set close to the vineyards and bee hives that Chiara and her family cultivate, along with several other crops. Inside, the living areas are a reflection of centuries of family life, remembered and celebrated by photos, furniture, household and farm utensils that encapsulate the spirit and the richness of the lives lived there by many generations. We enjoyed a fabulous lunch prepared by Chiara with produce grown on her land that included delicious pancakes made with chick pea flour, home made tortellini with ricotta and spinach, accompanied by her own red wine made with local grape varieties, and a mouthwatering pistachio semifreddo. Breakfast was a revelation: homemade bread with flour milled from locally grown wheat, cherry and plum compotes, Italian fruit torte, butter cake and an wide selection of little biscuits, all home made, were generously offered, washed down by locally made grape juice and of course, very strong coffee. We marvelled at how it was possible to run a farm, a guesthouse and do all this baking! Chiara's recommendations for what to see and eat locally were wonderful and much appreciated. It was a pleasure not to hear any cars or traffic and sleep peacefully. There are many walks in the area which we sadly could not do because of inclement weather but will keep for next time. When the sun did come out on our last morning, the views across the hills were glorious. Our thanks to Chiara and her kind family for hosting us and being so accommodating and inclusive in every way. Thank you too for welcoming us with such a sumptuous meal, so that we could avoid the rain. It was a privilege to experience something so authentic.
