Read more– opens a dialog boxEach review score is between 1 and 10. To get the overall score you see, we add up all the review scores we’ve received and divide that total by the number of them. We use a weighted review system, which means the more recent the review, the bigger the impact on the total review score calculation. Guests can also give separate “subscores” in crucial areas like location, cleanliness, staff, comfort, facilities, value, and free Wifi. Note that guests submit their subscores and overall scores independently, so there’s no direct link between them.
You can review an accommodation that you booked through our platform if you stayed there, or if you got to the property but didn’t actually stay there. To edit a review you’ve already submitted, contact our Customer Service team.
We have people and automated systems that specialize in detecting fake reviews submitted to our platform. If we find any, we delete them and, if necessary, take action against whoever is responsible.
Anyone who spots something suspicious can always report it to our Customer Service team so that our fraud team can investigate.
Ideally, we'd publish every review we get, positive and negative. However, we won’t display any reviews that include or refer to (among other things):
To make sure reviews are relevant, we may only accept reviews that are submitted within 3 months of checking out. We may stop showing reviews once they’re 36 months old, or if the accommodation has a change of ownership.
An accommodation can reply to a review.
When you see multiple reviews, the most recent ones will be at the top, subject to a few other factors (e.g. language, whether it’s just a rating or contains comments as well, etc.). You can sort and/or filter them by time of year, review score, and more.
Sometimes we show external review scores from other well-known travel websites, but make it clear when we do this.
These guidelines and standards aim to keep the content on Booking.com relevant and family-friendly, without limiting expression or strong opinions. They're also applicable regardless of the comment's tone.
Contributions should be travel related. The most helpful contributions are detailed and help others make better decisions. Please don’t include personal, political, ethical, or religious commentary. Promotional content will be removed and issues concerning Booking.com’s services should be routed to our Customer Service or Accommodation Service teams.
Contributions should be appropriate for a global audience. Please avoid using profanity or attempts to approximate profanity with creative spelling, in any language. Comments and media that include hate speech, discriminatory remarks, threats, sexually explicit remarks, violence, or the promotion of illegal activity are not permitted.
All content should be genuine and unique to the guest. Reviews are most valuable when they are original and unbiased. Your contribution should be yours. Booking.com property partners should not post on behalf of guests or offer incentives in exchange for reviews. Attempts to bring down the rating of a competitor by submitting a negative review will not be tolerated.
Respect the privacy of others. Booking.com will make an effort to obscure email addresses, telephone numbers, website addresses, social media accounts, and other similar details.
The opinions expressed in contributions are those of Booking.com customers and properties, and not of Booking.com. Booking.com does not accept responsibility or liability for any reviews or responses. Booking.com is a distributor (without any obligation to verify) and not a publisher of these comments and responses.
By default, reviews are sorted based on the date of the review and on additional criteria to display the most relevant reviews, including but not limited to: your language, reviews with text, and non-anonymous reviews. Additional sorting options might be available (by type of traveler, by score, etc...).

United KingdomThere was a slight smell of drains after it rained (but I suspect that might be inevitable in an old building in the town centre) and personally I would have preferred a different breakfast arrangement (breakfast is served in the room, which is fine but just slightly less convenient as you have to decide a time and choose what you want the day before).
The B&B is in an amazing old building in the centre of town. We were worried about driving into L'Aquila but the instructions we got were really clear and we were able to park just round the corner with no problems. The B&B is 2 minutes from the main street with lots of restaurants and bars, in a really great location. The room was a decent size and had air con, a good bathroom, and a comfortable bed. Staff were v responsive through Whatsapp and the guy on duty was very helpful (including carrying my ridiculously heavy suitcase up the stairs!).

ItalyParking is slightly tricky, but that's to be expected in centre of city - and they give a parking permit that should prevent tickets. Central location means it can be noisy in high season from lively neighbourhood - but midweek in Oct it was very quiet.
Warm welcome, very comfortable room, good breakfast. I've stayed here before, so this was a return visit and it did not disappoint. Fantastic location in the centre of l'Aquila. It is just off a lively street, with lots of amenities and restaurants nearby. Calm entrance hall and living room greets you before you climb up to the room. Bath is lovely with a good shower and lots of space.

JapanI can speak and read some Italian, but all the instructions to enter the building were written in Italian with no English. There was construction around the space preventing access by taxi. We had to walk dragging suitcases in the rain. The code to enter the building wasn't really clear and we struggled to enter until a stranger helped us. In other words, there was no staff there to greet us.
It's a gorgeous space located inside an ancient building once used by a pope. I think couples seeking a romantic space would enjoy it. The location seems good, but we couldn't experience much around it because of bad weather. The staff were helpful and kind. The breakfast included cereal and decent coffee, but no milk? The young man from Bangladesh who brought breakfast was very helpful the next morning.

AustraliaThe inclusive breakfast was very generous. The gentleman who checked us in was super helpful, friendly and assisted us with taking our luggage up the stairs. Accommodation was clean, the entrance was immaculate and the bathroom was gorgeous! This place is located super close to shops, cafes and local restaurants. Did not disappoint! Thanks, L'Aquila is a pretty place!

AustraliaIt was a last minute 3 night accommodation as our other accommodation was cancelled on us. The location was very central but a number of city construction detours created a confusion of directions . We parked as close as possible and after a number of whattapps we got through the securety doors and received a warm welcome from our hostess. The villa had a courtyard with a number of accommodations Our hostess had a welcoming room. Our accommodation consisted of a large bed room large walk-in closet large bathroom. All was very spacious. Bed and pillow were very comfortable. She gave us a city pass which enabled us to park close by. The city had 3 nights of festivities and we did hear a thing We enjoyed the personal touch of breakfast in our room at a time of our choosing. It consisted of cuppachinos croissants Nutella juice jam muesli yogart other. The experience and accommodation was excellent worth the price and we highly recommend it Of the 4 weeks in Italy and 7 accommodations we rated the best in all categories. Barbara tony

United KingdomThere was loud music playing from bars outside until 2am, it wasn’t a big issue for us as we tend to stay up quite late but it may be annoying for others. I also wish there’d been eggs with the breakfast as we requested.
Beautiful building and even more beautiful apartment. Our room was perfect, overall it looks and feels very luxurious.

United KingdomNo sunlight in my room (suite I believe) and common areas as there are basically no windows except for small skylights. It’s an apartment converted to b&b so it can get noisy if other guests or personnel are around as there is no soundproofing and doors are thin. Towels and bed quality could be improved.
