How guest reviews work
Each review score is between 1-10. To get the overall score that you see, we add up all the review scores we’ve received and divide that total by the number of review scores we’ve received. We use a weighted review system which means that the more recent the review, the bigger the impact on the total review score calculation. In addition, guests can give separate ‘subscores’ in crucial areas, such as location, cleanliness, staff, comfort, facilities, value for money and free Wi-Fi. Note that guests submit their subscores and their overall scores independently, so there’s no direct link between them.
You can review an Accommodation that you booked through our Platform if you stayed there or if you arrived at the property but didn’t actually stay there. To edit a review you’ve already submitted, please contact our Customer Service team.
We have people and automated systems that specialise in detecting fake reviews submitted to our Platform. If we find any, we delete them and, if necessary, take action against whoever is responsible.
Anyone else who spots something suspicious can always report it to our Customer Service team, so our Fraud team can investigate.
Ideally, we would publish every review we receive, whether positive or negative. However, we won’t display any review that includes or refers to (among other things):
- Politically sensitive comments
- Promotional content
- Illegal activities
- Personal or sensitive information (e.g. emails, phone numbers or credit card info)
- Swear words, sexual references, hate speech, discriminatory remarks, threats, or references to violence
- Spam and fake content
- Animal cruelty
- Impersonation (e.g. if the writer is claiming to be someone else)
- Any violation of our review guidelines.
To make sure reviews are relevant, we may only accept reviews that are submitted within 3 months of checking out, and we may stop showing reviews once they’re 36 months old – or if the Accommodation has a change of ownership.
An Accommodation may choose to reply to a review.
When you see multiple reviews, the most recent ones will be at the top, subject to a few other factors (what language a review is in, whether it’s just a rating or contains comments as well, etc.). If you like, you can sort and/or filter them (by time of year, review score, etc.).
We sometimes show external review scores from other well-known travel websites. We make it clear when we’ve done this.
Guidelines and standards for Reviews
These guidelines and standards aim to keep the content on Booking.com relevant and family-friendly without limiting expression of strong opinions. They are also applicable regardless of the sentiment of the comment.
Contributions should be travel related. The most helpful contributions are detailed and help others make better decisions. Please don’t include personal, political, ethical, or religious commentary. Promotional content will be removed and issues concerning Booking.com’s services should be routed to our Customer Service or Accommodation Service teams.
Contributions should be appropriate for a global audience. Please avoid using profanity or attempts to approximate profanity with creative spelling, in any language. Comments and media that include 'hate speech', discriminatory remarks, threats, sexually explicit remarks, violence, and the promotion of illegal activity are not permitted.
All content should be genuine and unique to the guest. Reviews are most valuable when they are original and unbiased. Your contribution should be yours. Booking.com property partners should not post on behalf of guests or offer incentives in exchange for reviews. Attempts to bring down the rating of a competitor by submitting a negative review will not be tolerated.
Respect the privacy of others. Booking.com will make an effort to obscure email addresses, telephone numbers, website addresses, social media accounts, and similar details.
The opinions expressed in contributions are those of Booking.com customers and properties and not of Booking.com. Booking.com does not accept responsibility or liability for any reviews or responses. Booking.com is a distributor (without any obligation to verify) and not a publisher of these comments and responses.
By default, reviews are sorted based on the date of the review and on additional criteria to display the most relevant reviews, including but not limited to: your language, reviews with text, and non-anonymous reviews. Additional sorting options may be available (by type of traveller, by score, etc.).

Verified reviewLuigi provided clear check in instructions. Private bathroom and shower. Air conditioning excellent. Good location beside the train station but a short walk to the city centre. Luigi allowed us to store luggage until the early afternoon. Perfect for our one night stay
Thank you Brian, it was a real pleasure hosting you :-) I hope see you again soon!

Verified reviewI was quite clean, there was some breakfast in terms of cookies, coffee, some bread. good value for money.
When arriving we didn't use the elevator and so walked up. the corridors were a bit dark and noisy, and sometimes the light went off, but once on the right landing, all was self-explanatory.

Verified reviewThe room was clean and comfy, and the access to the balcony made it perfect to enjoy breakfast in the sun. Even the shared bathroom was good, clean and had a lot of hot water! The host is very helpful and accommodating and allowed me to drop my bags earlier than check-in time.
Nothing, it was a very good and affordable b&b in central Pisa

Verified reviewEasy check-in and facilities were good and clean.
A little sketchy near the train station, the elevator was a little sketchy as well (could open door and look down the shaft...)

Verified reviewThe location is the best, 5 min away from the train of bus station. You have a lift to get tho the 6th floor. The accommodation provides share bathrooms, but I believe this is one of the nicest things if you're a solo traveller because you can interact with other people in the communal areas (dining, kitchen). The owner is an absolutely lovely man, very good host. Everything was clean. If you're a normal traveller without fancy requests, then you'll enjoy staying here. Walking distance to the Corso, to the town and the historical area.

Verified reviewWe didn't actually stay at the place we originally booked. Not sure why, but Luigi was very helpful and provided us with information about a room and shared bathroom facilities at another location. Luigi met us at the new location, made a coffee for us, had a nice chat and sent us an extensive message with a run down of places to eat and drink at.
All up the place was fine, except for the 2 people (longer term students) staying in the other room who thought it was OK to occupy the bathroom facilities for well over an hour. Even after we knocked on the door several times requesting to use the toilet facilities they just continued on as though there was no need to rush.

Verified reviewFor the price it was very good. Good size room, lovely terrace and great links to trains, taxis and a 25 minute walk to Pisa (tower etc) It had a coffee machine and everything you needed if you were staying for a few days or more. (It's a nice touch that the previous people who stayed actually left a lot of products. Toothpaste, deodorant, air freshener etc. (I forgot toothpaste, so that was a bonus) It's great to interact with people as soon as you get there and certainly helped me to settle in quickly and get great insights to where to go, what to see and how to get there etc. I'm returning to Pisa in the summer next year and would definitely stay next time.
Would have been nice for the owner to be there on arrival or a little bit more notice of how to access the building and room. But it was fine. A bit smelly on the ground floor, but you pass by it only going in and out.

Verified reviewStuff answered questions in a fast way
Elevator wasn’t working, you could smell the neighbour’s meals in the room, location didn’t make us feel comfortable
The elevator works perfectly, maybe it was simply busy or the door was not closed properly. If someone in the building decides to cook...what can I do? I hope they invite me to dinner :-) All the best! Luigi

Verified reviewI liked the location. The accommodation is close to the train station and the airport. I enjoyed the view. The accommodation was on the 6th floor, offering a nice view, especially in the evening. There was the option to sit or lie down on the terrace.
The door of the room I was given was very poorly soundproofed. It was actually a partially glass door. The glass panels were covered with paper, but it did not isolate the sound.

Verified reviewThe BnB was just next to the train station, making it very convenient to continue our travels right after visiting Pisa. From the room, we had an easy access to a terrace which had a nice view and was pleasant to relax a moment. The bathrooms had shared facilities. It was also easy to communicate with the owner and he let us leave our bags in a locked facility room while visiting Pisa.
I was struggling a bit with locking the door but my friend seemed to have more magic in her hand and could lock it easily.
