How guest reviews work
Each review score is between 1-10. To get the overall score that you see, we add up all the review scores we’ve received and divide that total by the number of review scores we’ve received. We use a weighted review system which means that the more recent the review, the bigger the impact on the total review score calculation. In addition, guests can give separate ‘subscores’ in crucial areas, such as location, cleanliness, staff, comfort, facilities, value for money and free Wi-Fi. Note that guests submit their subscores and their overall scores independently, so there’s no direct link between them.
You can review an Accommodation that you booked through our Platform if you stayed there or if you arrived at the property but didn’t actually stay there. To edit a review you’ve already submitted, please contact our Customer Service team.
We have people and automated systems that specialise in detecting fake reviews submitted to our Platform. If we find any, we delete them and, if necessary, take action against whoever is responsible.
Anyone else who spots something suspicious can always report it to our Customer Service team, so our Fraud team can investigate.
Ideally, we would publish every review we receive, whether positive or negative. However, we won’t display any review that includes or refers to (among other things):
- Politically sensitive comments
- Promotional content
- Illegal activities
- Personal or sensitive information (e.g. emails, phone numbers or credit card info)
- Swear words, sexual references, hate speech, discriminatory remarks, threats, or references to violence
- Spam and fake content
- Animal cruelty
- Impersonation (e.g. if the writer is claiming to be someone else)
- Any violation of our review guidelines.
To make sure reviews are relevant, we may only accept reviews that are submitted within 3 months of checking out, and we may stop showing reviews once they’re 36 months old – or if the Accommodation has a change of ownership.
An Accommodation may choose to reply to a review.
When you see multiple reviews, the most recent ones will be at the top, subject to a few other factors (what language a review is in, whether it’s just a rating or contains comments as well, etc.). If you like, you can sort and/or filter them (by time of year, review score, etc.).
We sometimes show external review scores from other well-known travel websites. We make it clear when we’ve done this.
Guidelines and standards for Reviews
These guidelines and standards aim to keep the content on Booking.com relevant and family-friendly without limiting expression of strong opinions. They are also applicable regardless of the sentiment of the comment.
Contributions should be travel related. The most helpful contributions are detailed and help others make better decisions. Please don’t include personal, political, ethical, or religious commentary. Promotional content will be removed and issues concerning Booking.com’s services should be routed to our Customer Service or Accommodation Service teams.
Contributions should be appropriate for a global audience. Please avoid using profanity or attempts to approximate profanity with creative spelling, in any language. Comments and media that include 'hate speech', discriminatory remarks, threats, sexually explicit remarks, violence, and the promotion of illegal activity are not permitted.
All content should be genuine and unique to the guest. Reviews are most valuable when they are original and unbiased. Your contribution should be yours. Booking.com property partners should not post on behalf of guests or offer incentives in exchange for reviews. Attempts to bring down the rating of a competitor by submitting a negative review will not be tolerated.
Respect the privacy of others. Booking.com will make an effort to obscure email addresses, telephone numbers, website addresses, social media accounts, and similar details.
The opinions expressed in contributions are those of Booking.com customers and properties and not of Booking.com. Booking.com does not accept responsibility or liability for any reviews or responses. Booking.com is a distributor (without any obligation to verify) and not a publisher of these comments and responses.
By default, reviews are sorted based on the date of the review and on additional criteria to display the most relevant reviews, including but not limited to: your language, reviews with text, and non-anonymous reviews. Additional sorting options may be available (by type of traveller, by score, etc.).

Verified reviewThe apartment was clean and in the city center. So it is in a good position if you wanna go around by foot.
You should highlight the fact that is located inside the old city thus you should pay attention to the fact that you cannot park close to it. Anyway the distance from the parking areas is quite small.

Verified reviewThe location of this property is the best in Old Bari, right next to the Basilica and in the heart of the old town. We were in a ground floor room with adjoining bathroom and the comfort is great, no steps, easy access and very convenient while walking around. The shower is small but convenient, and very comfortable. The included fridge and kitchenette were great to use while staying here to keep our water cool. The AC was small but powerful enough to cool the room at night.
The location is in the heart of the city, so if taking an afternoon nap, there are people walking and chatting in the street and the door does not block much sound, especially of motorcycles. Please be careful when using the toilet as there is a jutting out piece of staircase above it that is not marked or protected in any way and both of us hit our heads against it a few times while using the bathroom, especially at night. This seems to have happened to plenty of visitors as well, as there's a few marks on it. Using the provided bidet has the same issue. We are also not very tall (5'7) so anyone taller will surely have more issues.

Verified reviewCentral location, right in the old town near all the turistic points and the train station. The host was really nice and helpful. The room had a nice balcony, iron, microwave, coffe machine. Perfect for a city break in Bari!
The shower cabin was a bit small and the single bed not too confortable.

Verified reviewAmazing location in old Bari. Nice balcony with a view. Flexible check in and luggage storage.
The shower is way too small, almost impossible to have a shower while the door is shut.

Verified reviewThe location is excellent, right in the middle of the old town. The room is perfect for a couple of nights' stay, and we appreciated that it had all the basic facilities for a comfortable short stay. You receive a breakfast voucher at the cafe next to the location. The owner was very nice and even insisted on carrying our heavy suitcase on the second floor, where we had the apartment.

Verified reviewThe location in the centre of old Bari is perfect and it’s only a 15 min walk from the train station and ferry terminal. The apartment has everything you need, is very clean with a charming private balcony overlooking a lovely street. The host is so helpful and friendly, he let us check in early, use his washing machine and store our bags after check out. Totally recommend and would definitely stay again.
As others have said the bathroom and shower cubicle are quite small but it was clean and functional.

Verified reviewThe location is right in the heart of Bari, close to the cathedral, the medieval stronghold, the famous "pasta street," and many restaurants. If you want to experience the local Italian culture, this is the perfect place to stay. Even though the area is lively, the apartment is very well insulated, and we had a very good night's sleep. The place was very clean and had everything we needed. The host was very friendly and helpful. Totally recommend it!
The breakfast was good and just around the corner. However, if you prefer a heavy breakfast, note that this is the typical Italian style sweet, light and simple.

Verified reviewThe communication with the owners was very clear. The room was clean and was equipped with a coffee maker, fridge and cups, plates, cutlery. The location is right in the centre of the historic old town.
There's no lift and the property seems to consist of four rooms, one on each floor. This was fine for me but going up and down the stairs may be difficult for some people. There's a little bit of noise from people walking below around 6-9pm but that was when I went out to eat and walk around as well.

Verified reviewThe owner of this place is a violent man who should not be working in hospitality. It all started when we went downstairs for breakfast, and the owner decided to break into our room without our knowledge or permission, in order to look for an iron. We found that out when we came back to the room and saw him standing in the hallway with the iron in his hand, trying to talk to us in Italian (which we don't speak). After realizing he had gone into our room without permission (while everything was unpacked, and our wallets and passports on the table), I opened the door to the hallway and asked him why he did that. That's when the violence started. He started very aggressively yelling at me (in Italian using Google translate) why it's "his right" as an owner to walk into any room, at any time, and take anything he wants without giving any explanation. I had no interest in arguing with him, so I closed the door (so we can finish packing), to which the owner responded with violently banging on door, cursing, and screaming at us in Italian. My husband opened the door, trying to calm the situation, but the owner not only refused to calm down, he kept on raising his voice and even raised his arm, as if he was about to hit my husband. Another woman showed up at the hallway (seemingly the cleaning lady), and she was cheering him on and yelling at us too. At this point, we were actually very scared. I'm pregnant and the situation caused me tremendous stress. I quietly stood behind as my husband managed to close the door after the owner finally stopped screaming. We started packing our stuff quickly so we could get the hell out of there. Just a few minutes later, the owner's wife sent me a WhatsApp explaining why it's OK for him to enter the room and that they don't understand why WE got so angry. needless to say, she failed to mention her husband screaming, yelling, and cursing.
