How guest reviews work
Each review score is between 1-10. To get the overall score that you see, we add up all the review scores we’ve received and divide that total by the number of review scores we’ve received. We use a weighted review system which means that the more recent the review, the bigger the impact on the total review score calculation. In addition, guests can give separate ‘subscores’ in crucial areas, such as location, cleanliness, staff, comfort, facilities, value for money and free Wi-Fi. Note that guests submit their subscores and their overall scores independently, so there’s no direct link between them.
You can review an Accommodation that you booked through our Platform if you stayed there or if you arrived at the property but didn’t actually stay there. To edit a review you’ve already submitted, please contact our Customer Service team.
We have people and automated systems that specialise in detecting fake reviews submitted to our Platform. If we find any, we delete them and, if necessary, take action against whoever is responsible.
Anyone else who spots something suspicious can always report it to our Customer Service team, so our Fraud team can investigate.
Ideally, we would publish every review we receive, whether positive or negative. However, we won’t display any review that includes or refers to (among other things):
- Politically sensitive comments
- Promotional content
- Illegal activities
- Personal or sensitive information (e.g. emails, phone numbers or credit card info)
- Swear words, sexual references, hate speech, discriminatory remarks, threats, or references to violence
- Spam and fake content
- Animal cruelty
- Impersonation (e.g. if the writer is claiming to be someone else)
- Any violation of our review guidelines.
To make sure reviews are relevant, we may only accept reviews that are submitted within 3 months of checking out, and we may stop showing reviews once they’re 36 months old – or if the Accommodation has a change of ownership.
An Accommodation may choose to reply to a review.
When you see multiple reviews, the most recent ones will be at the top, subject to a few other factors (what language a review is in, whether it’s just a rating or contains comments as well, etc.). If you like, you can sort and/or filter them (by time of year, review score, etc.).
We sometimes show external review scores from other well-known travel websites. We make it clear when we’ve done this.
Guidelines and standards for Reviews
These guidelines and standards aim to keep the content on Booking.com relevant and family-friendly without limiting expression of strong opinions. They are also applicable regardless of the sentiment of the comment.
Contributions should be travel related. The most helpful contributions are detailed and help others make better decisions. Please don’t include personal, political, ethical, or religious commentary. Promotional content will be removed and issues concerning Booking.com’s services should be routed to our Customer Service or Accommodation Service teams.
Contributions should be appropriate for a global audience. Please avoid using profanity or attempts to approximate profanity with creative spelling, in any language. Comments and media that include 'hate speech', discriminatory remarks, threats, sexually explicit remarks, violence, and the promotion of illegal activity are not permitted.
All content should be genuine and unique to the guest. Reviews are most valuable when they are original and unbiased. Your contribution should be yours. Booking.com property partners should not post on behalf of guests or offer incentives in exchange for reviews. Attempts to bring down the rating of a competitor by submitting a negative review will not be tolerated.
Respect the privacy of others. Booking.com will make an effort to obscure email addresses, telephone numbers, website addresses, social media accounts, and similar details.
The opinions expressed in contributions are those of Booking.com customers and properties and not of Booking.com. Booking.com does not accept responsibility or liability for any reviews or responses. Booking.com is a distributor (without any obligation to verify) and not a publisher of these comments and responses.
By default, reviews are sorted based on the date of the review and on additional criteria to display the most relevant reviews, including but not limited to: your language, reviews with text, and non-anonymous reviews. Additional sorting options may be available (by type of traveller, by score, etc.).

Verified reviewExcellent room — everything was clean, with towels, soap, and shampoos provided. Federica was very kind and friendly, and we are very grateful to her. The breakfasts were delicious, with pastries and drinks. The location of the apartment is very convenient, right in the old town — a place with a great atmosphere. The room was very unique and beautiful, with a lovely little balcony. We 100% recommend it. Thank you, Federica!
Everything was great
Thank you❤️😍

Verified reviewThe location was perfect. The breakfast was nice.
The rooms are small, there is no elevator. The floor is cold.
Thank you. Of course, leaving a good 5 for things that are clearly stated in the description is really regrettable. The floor has no heated tiles (it’s not written anywhere) and in any case the heating in Italy in May must be turned off. Elevator? Where can we put an elevator in a 1200 yo structure? It is not reported anywhere that there is an elevator but it is reported that there are stairs. You are in a historic centre in an old house or you adapt or go to a hotel. You are also very young, so I don’t really understand certain inappropriate comments. As far as the rooms are concerned, we have obtained the necessary and sufficient space and the sizes are visibly shown in photos and written. I would also like to point out that you arrived at 3 in the morning (I could not have welcomed you but I did it anyway) I perceive a lot of frustration behind certain reviews and little adaptation when travelling Good luck Federica

Verified reviewThe hostess was exceptional. Very friendly and accommodating. She went out of her way to make our stay pleasant. She cooked bacon and eggs both mornings. She also provided fresh fruit and all the cappucini we wanted...which was a lot. It was very quiet so sleeping was no problem.
The public transportation from the train station was confusing with Google but our hostess solving the problem. I didn't mention, she's also very responsive.
Thank you very much for your review and for the kind words I just wanted to say that the transport works very well as they arrive at the station when the train arrives and depart from the end of line to go to the station. It was a pleasure to bring you Grazie Federica

Verified reviewA historic property in the old town. The property was clean and comfortable. Federica is brilliant - we were delayed by a rail strike but she was very accommodating and couldn’t do enough to help. Next morning she made us a delicious vegetarian breakfast. We would definitely stay again.

Verified reviewCharming building, recently modernised. Easy access to restaurants and main tourist attractions. Lovely welcoming host, very helpful.
As it's an old building there are lots of unexpected steps which take a bit of getting used to.

Verified reviewCute room.
Overpriced for what you get and for its location. Room seems also bigger on photos but its a normal room.
Good evening I think reading, that she got confused with another structure. But I’ll answer you anyway. Number 1 We are in the historic centre Number 2 Justify what you write “excessiver price for what you offer” Number 3 I remember you and we chatted a lot and you were very happy. Senseless reviews and where to find them. Federica

Verified reviewFederica was a great host, explaining all the details about parking, and how to get to her place. She provided us with a permit to enter and park for free in the limited traffic zone only meters from the room, which was precious. Self check-in went smoothly, and we were able to keep the permit for few more hours next morning, until we finished sightseeing. Also, she helped with restaurants, and instructions what, where and how to visit in Tarquinia, and there is a plenty of things to do there. Room was comfortable, although not very big, and easy to access. In the morning, Federica prepared us excellent breakfast, and we spent some nice time chatting. Definitely worth of recommending.
There is nothing really serious to complain.
Thank you so much See you Federica

Verified reviewThe hostess greeted us with enthusiasm and a gracious welcome! The twin room was separate from the bathroom which had a bathtub. The beamed ceiling added a medieval touch! We could easily park by the B&B and gingerly stroll to the the center of Tarquinia plus the archeological Etruscan site. The breakfast was homemade which was a treat!
A B&B in an ancient city has steep steps, however, not long.
Thank you very much Pat you were very kind As you said, it’s a old b&b in the historic centre, of corse there are stairs (a few steps) and especially written in the important info Federica

Verified reviewThis is a great little B&B in the heart of the walled town. Federica was a wonderfully friendly host and made contact with us via WhatsApp on the day to arrange check-in. Great tips for restaurants and a lovely friendly home-made breakfast Nothing was too much trouble and the room was exactly as described and pictured. We stayed here as an alternative to Civitaveccia before a cruise and we are so glad we did.

Thank you very much for your review. You were very nice. For the bed you have booked a double bed with a French bed (you have seen photos and bed information), read well before booking and you will not be bad. Thank you Federica

Verified reviewThe proprietress was extremely helpful. She contacted us ahead of time so we could park inside the "walls", right in front of the B&B. Very quaint place, room immaculate, breakfast was plentiful and good. She was very helpful with directions and suggestions on places to eat. We were in Tarquinia for only one night. Highly recommend
There isn't anything we did not like. There are stairs to the bedrooms so anyone with mobility problems should take that into account
Thank you so much Ser you Federica
