Each review score is between 1-10. To get the overall score that you see, we add up all the review scores we’ve received and divide that total by the number of review scores we’ve received. We use a weighted review system which means that the more recent the review, the bigger the impact on the total review score calculation. In addition, guests can give separate ‘subscores’ in crucial areas, such as location, cleanliness, staff, comfort, facilities, value for money and free Wi-Fi. Note that guests submit their subscores and their overall scores independently, so there’s no direct link between them.
You can review an Accommodation that you booked through our Platform if you stayed there or if you arrived at the property but didn’t actually stay there. To edit a review you’ve already submitted, please contact our Customer Service team.
We have people and automated systems that specialise in detecting fake reviews submitted to our Platform. If we find any, we delete them and, if necessary, take action against whoever is responsible.
Anyone else who spots something suspicious can always report it to our Customer Service team, so our Fraud team can investigate.
Ideally, we would publish every review we receive, whether positive or negative. However, we won’t display any review that includes or refers to (among other things):
To make sure reviews are relevant, we may only accept reviews that are submitted within 3 months of checking out, and we may stop showing reviews once they’re 36 months old – or if the Accommodation has a change of ownership.
An Accommodation may choose to reply to a review.
When you see multiple reviews, the most recent ones will be at the top, subject to a few other factors (what language a review is in, whether it’s just a rating or contains comments as well, etc.). If you like, you can sort and/or filter them (by time of year, review score, etc.).
We sometimes show external review scores from other well-known travel websites. We make it clear when we’ve done this.
These guidelines and standards aim to keep the content on Booking.com relevant and family-friendly without limiting expression of strong opinions. They are also applicable regardless of the sentiment of the comment.
Contributions should be travel related. The most helpful contributions are detailed and help others make better decisions. Please don’t include personal, political, ethical, or religious commentary. Promotional content will be removed and issues concerning Booking.com’s services should be routed to our Customer Service or Accommodation Service teams.
Contributions should be appropriate for a global audience. Please avoid using profanity or attempts to approximate profanity with creative spelling, in any language. Comments and media that include 'hate speech', discriminatory remarks, threats, sexually explicit remarks, violence, and the promotion of illegal activity are not permitted.
All content should be genuine and unique to the guest. Reviews are most valuable when they are original and unbiased. Your contribution should be yours. Booking.com property partners should not post on behalf of guests or offer incentives in exchange for reviews. Attempts to bring down the rating of a competitor by submitting a negative review will not be tolerated.
Respect the privacy of others. Booking.com will make an effort to obscure email addresses, telephone numbers, website addresses, social media accounts, and similar details.
The opinions expressed in contributions are those of Booking.com customers and properties and not of Booking.com. Booking.com does not accept responsibility or liability for any reviews or responses. Booking.com is a distributor (without any obligation to verify) and not a publisher of these comments and responses.
By default, reviews are sorted based on the date of the review and on additional criteria to display the most relevant reviews, including but not limited to: your language, reviews with text, and non-anonymous reviews. Additional sorting options may be available (by type of traveller, by score, etc.).

United KingdomNothing - it was great. Location - it was quiet , very quiet and that’s not for everyone of course .
Cinzia at Il giardino was great - had my morning coffee on the terrace while she painted , and a conversation between us in Italiano-English . The terrace is a great feature. Great location and she gave me a number for taxi to book in advance for airport before I arrived- great tip - thanks to Massimo . I would recommend this as a short stay anytime . Xx I booked this trip without research - Ryanair flights were cheap ! I turned out to be a great choice . It’s the end of June and tourists are very low in number . Easy to get around Reggio Calabria on foot . I spent one day here , a second day - went across on the ferry to Messina (7 euros return ) and a third day on the train ( 7 euros return too ) to Scilla . It’s a great place to travel out from as RC is too small to spend many days and that’s what’s great . Scilla - had a great swordfish sandwich in civico 5.

United KingdomPersonally nothing negative. Those with limited mobility should note there’s steps access the main property.
Really great stay, good location close to the castle, city centre and train station. Cafe, supermarket, fruit & veg shop very nearby. Host provided lots of information about accessing the property and nearby restaurant recommendations which were great. Really nice rooftop terrace to enjoy the sun.

United KingdomNot a lot of contact with the owners and no info to find our way around. There was one room which was shared by two separate units which made it more difficult than we would have liked.
We didn’t have breakfast as it wasn’t available or we were not aware of the way to order it.The location was a 15 minute walk into the town but it was hot weather. The upstairs outside area was beautiful

United KingdomAlthough the room was slightly smaller than expected for a king studio it had everything you could possibly need for your stay.
The property was beautifully decorated with an amazing decorative steps and terrace. The rooms were well presented with everything you could need for a short stay. The room we had had a small balcony which was lovely to sit out drinking and eating in the evenings. The location was an easy to locate and a 20 minute walk to the centre which was a perfect location.

United KingdomI wouldn’t say it’s a dislike but more of a disclaimer. You do have to climb a few steps to get to the BnB as it’s up a hill. So if you have heavy suitcases, be ready to climb a few flights of stairs.
The interior design of this place was well done. Very aesthetic and artistic. The room was spacious and clean, comfortable bed and pillows. Cinzia was amazing throughout the holiday and made my solo travelling worth while. She provided me with links to places like restaurants and cafes. I was offered coffee by one of the staff members upon leaving which I found sweet. I’ll definitely be back again.

AustraliaNo where to hang washed clothes. So there really was nothing wrong at all. I would stay there again.
The location despite being a street with a lot of rubbish was really good for free car parking. Walking to the shops, museum and Esplanade was not an issue. So good spot for anyone with a car. Cinzia is very helpful, speaks good enough english and was easy to contact.

Clean, beautiful decor, excellent location. Easy walk to station and main parts of Reggio. Communication was terrific and host had lots of great suggestions. Lots of places to eat, fruit & veg shops, and you must try the Calzone shop (doesn’t open until 7.00pm) for the best Calzone and Arancini ever.

This B&B is one of the best/most unique accommodations I have ever stayed at whilst travelling!! The decor is so exquisite and has a boutique vintage luxury feel to it, absolutely stunning! The little details from a crochet throw on the bed to the decors on the mirrors and coffee cups have been thought through beautifully. The check in was super easy and location is very accessible distance to the Main Street/attractions. The hostess was incredibly kind and lovely, made me feel very welcomed and even brought me a little pastry to enjoy with my coffee in the morning as I forgot that I didn’t book the breakfast. Free bottle of water and some small packs of juices in the mini fridge were an added little bonus. The terrace is another little gem - very relaxing corner full of beautiful decor to enjoy. Overall - I had a fantastic stay! I will definitely be returning in the future! :)
