How guest reviews work
Each review score is between 1-10. To get the overall score that you see, we add up all the review scores we’ve received and divide that total by the number of review scores we’ve received. We use a weighted review system which means that the more recent the review, the bigger the impact on the total review score calculation. In addition, guests can give separate ‘subscores’ in crucial areas, such as location, cleanliness, staff, comfort, facilities, value for money and free Wi-Fi. Note that guests submit their subscores and their overall scores independently, so there’s no direct link between them.
You can review an Accommodation that you booked through our Platform if you stayed there or if you arrived at the property but didn’t actually stay there. To edit a review you’ve already submitted, please contact our Customer Service team.
We have people and automated systems that specialise in detecting fake reviews submitted to our Platform. If we find any, we delete them and, if necessary, take action against whoever is responsible.
Anyone else who spots something suspicious can always report it to our Customer Service team, so our Fraud team can investigate.
Ideally, we would publish every review we receive, whether positive or negative. However, we won’t display any review that includes or refers to (among other things):
- Politically sensitive comments
- Promotional content
- Illegal activities
- Personal or sensitive information (e.g. emails, phone numbers or credit card info)
- Swear words, sexual references, hate speech, discriminatory remarks, threats, or references to violence
- Spam and fake content
- Animal cruelty
- Impersonation (e.g. if the writer is claiming to be someone else)
- Any violation of our review guidelines.
To make sure reviews are relevant, we may only accept reviews that are submitted within 3 months of checking out, and we may stop showing reviews once they’re 36 months old – or if the Accommodation has a change of ownership.
An Accommodation may choose to reply to a review.
When you see multiple reviews, the most recent ones will be at the top, subject to a few other factors (what language a review is in, whether it’s just a rating or contains comments as well, etc.). If you like, you can sort and/or filter them (by time of year, review score, etc.).
We sometimes show external review scores from other well-known travel websites. We make it clear when we’ve done this.
Guidelines and standards for Reviews
These guidelines and standards aim to keep the content on Booking.com relevant and family-friendly without limiting expression of strong opinions. They are also applicable regardless of the sentiment of the comment.
Contributions should be travel related. The most helpful contributions are detailed and help others make better decisions. Please don’t include personal, political, ethical, or religious commentary. Promotional content will be removed and issues concerning Booking.com’s services should be routed to our Customer Service or Accommodation Service teams.
Contributions should be appropriate for a global audience. Please avoid using profanity or attempts to approximate profanity with creative spelling, in any language. Comments and media that include 'hate speech', discriminatory remarks, threats, sexually explicit remarks, violence, and the promotion of illegal activity are not permitted.
All content should be genuine and unique to the guest. Reviews are most valuable when they are original and unbiased. Your contribution should be yours. Booking.com property partners should not post on behalf of guests or offer incentives in exchange for reviews. Attempts to bring down the rating of a competitor by submitting a negative review will not be tolerated.
Respect the privacy of others. Booking.com will make an effort to obscure email addresses, telephone numbers, website addresses, social media accounts, and similar details.

Verified reviewThe property is full of character and steeped in history. It was comfortable and the views from the terrace were incredible.
I loved everything about the property, it lacked some of the more modern facilities you would find in a modern hotel chain but it had so much more to offer and was just wonderful.

Verified reviewFantastic, huge apartment with a great terrace overlooking the mountains. It was wonderful to watch the sunset and then the stars over Savoca. It was a wonderful experience to spend the night in this beautiful village.
The only minus is the crowds of tourists during the day. But that's why you should spend the night there to visit this village in the morning and evening, when it is the most beautiful.
It is true that during the day there is a lot of confusion due to the arrival of many tourists, however there are many corners to enjoy the beauty of the village in peace. I thank you and I wait for you again.

Verified reviewGreat location in the picturesque and unique mountain village of Savoca, above one of the village souvenir shops with the same name. The village itself (one of the locations for The Godfather film of the 70´s) fills up with day trippers from nearby Taormina (film location for The White Lotus). Big bedroom and sitting room, great bathroom, easy parking very close by.
No large cups/mugs for tea! No kettle. Hair drier didn´t blow very hot apparently. Breakfast (included) in bar next door bit hit and miss due to barman being totally on his own as it quickly filled up with foreign daytrippers and dozens of Italian cyclists.
Thank you for being in Savoca and for enjoying it. I'm sorry you didn't find the cups and kettle but they were inside the kitchen doors. I hope to see you again and be able to make amends😘

Verified reviewPerfect location and perfect facilities. We highly recommend this place…it was like staying in my families apartment and had the most exquisite view over the valley. To others staying here we’d highly recommend also visiting the following villages: Casalvecchio Siculo, Limina and Forza d’Agro. We’d also recommend arriving with your own food items to cook as there are no supermarkets in town and limited restaurant options.

Verified reviewEverything! Location is excellent, in the centre of the town. Walk to everything. The property is so comfortable, we could easily stay longer. So peaceful, a perfect getaway! The owner was so friendly and arranged a transfer for us to travel to Messina the next day.
There isn't anywhere to put your toiletries bag in the bathroom, but other than that I loved everything.

It was cold during the night but we didn't realise there was a heater until mid morning!

No having a car .. but you can get around that as there are taxis and buses and if you like walking and hiking and adventure it’s safer to do so as it as neighbouring villages .

Verified reviewWe wanted to give this a 10 and it could be with a little bit of effort and a little money . We did enjoy staying and the location and view from the back terrace was spectacular, also the cooking facilities were great and all equipment was there to cook what you wanted . A little bit of work to tidy the pace up but not losing the traditional Sicilian look would be needed and lighting would be far better . We found having to use the torch on our phones to cook was needed but this would be a simple fix . Unfortunately the breakfast was the biggest let down after reading the reviews we thought this should be special . It was far from that and a single croissants and cup of coffee doesn't really hit the mark as a top breakfast . Although staff were friendly and helpful I hope the invest a little more over the winter . I know the price is reflected in the property but a little more effort they could charge more for a great place and space . A 6 would be fair

Verified reviewEverything!! From the moment I contacted the gracious hosts Cettina and Daniele I was made to feel most welcome and part of beautiful Savoca. Their B&B was the best, clean, spacious with all amenities I was overly impressed. The position was perfect and the breakfasts sublime There are not enough stars to impress how highly I rate my experience and recommend if going to Savoca this is the place to stay.
