The staff could have left fresh towels every day or two but a quick text to the host asking for fresh ones and that was sorted.

It was very close to lots of shops, markets, restaurants, cathedrals and more tourist attractions. The bus stop and train station are close enough too so it made it very easy to get around.

Unfortunately, during our 5-night stay, the bed sheets were never changed and the room was never cleaned. The towels were only replaced once, which was a bit disappointing. Also, the bathroom grout was completely moldy – this could at least be cleaned with Javel water/bleach or ideally replaced.

Overall a good stay – the air conditioning and balcony were great, and the room itself was okay. All in all, great location, the best ice cream shop just around the corner, and a decent stay.

Our choice of hotel in Palermo was based mostly on closeness to the centre and parking provided. We had a rental we didn’t feel comfortable leaving outside on the street even though it was insured. The parking provided is not though the B&B itself, it’s a place that locals use and they probably have some sort of arrangement. Since the other parking options were not working on that day (the 1st of May is a holiday), we resorted to the suggestion by the B&B. I was initially told 20€ a night and at the parking lot itself (bear in mind, communication there without knowing Italian is difficult) they said 23€, pulled out an old receipt dated a week ago and gave me that. Way to run your business, absolutely tragic. So even though the place was recommended, I didn’t feel that safe to leave my rental there (nobody wants to deal with car issues on their holiday). So I’d opt for a different parking lot. The shower was kind of narrow so it might be a problem for some. The showerhead couldn’t keep its position so it was a bit annoying.

It’s pretty close to the city centre so location is a plus. Self check-in worked properly. Coffee machine in the main area provided. Rooms are nice and light.

The beds were comfortable, the location was great, and the room had a great clean feel! The room was practical and useful, with a bench to open our suitcases on, a kettle and even a minifridge. Excellent value for money!

For the great price, something has to give - it was the tiny bathroom and shower. The bathroom was however clean and tidy.

Very convenient location in walking distance of everything we needed. Clean and neat little property. We communicated with the host via WhatsApp which was easy and meant there was some flexibility when my arrival time changed. The bars on the street were drowned out with ear plugs at night (the music goes until 2am every night and on Saturdays a bit later) and although it was warm in the room with the balcony doors closed, the air con worked well.

To much noise during the night also if the room is at the 4th floor, more and less till 1 am, due to many pub in the street. You can have some difficulties to sleep, it dipend by you and your abits

The walk-in shower was rather small, A lot of noise from the nearby bars/pubs, until late into the night. Although we were warned about this by the owner in a message we received just after booking, the noise was louder than expected. Closing the windows does not help much.

Excellent location in the new part of Palermo, but very close to the historic center. Many restaurants, bars and pubs within walking distance. There is also a small cafe just opposite the B&B, where we had our breakfast (coffee, pastry, toasts, etc). The B&B is actually an apartment on the fourth floor of a residential building, with several nicely decorated rooms. Everything was clean and comfortable, Salvo and the other family members working with him were very helpful. The secure parking in a nearby garage recommended by Salvo was very convenient (15 euros per day).

Weak AC working only when you’re in. Also it’s not cooling a one bedroom apartment being set on 16C - coolant must be renewed or at least AC cleaned. That’s a torture when 37C outside and the building is cooking all day long. Moreover the lobby is not cooled by AC, but it’s installed there. Bathroom has a very loud splashing noises even when you’re not taking shower or using a toilet. Thanks to the host who provided earplugs in advance👌

I don't think I've ever had a worse time during a holiday than I had staying here. First off, the booking description is misleading, this is not a B&b, this is an apartment with a few private rooms, that does NOT offer breakfast. And there is a sign in the kitchen telling guest they should NOT use it, as it is just for administration, or something like that. Not anywhere on the Booking description does the owner specify that this is a shared apartment, with little privacy (you can hear everybody moving around, going to their bathrooms etc.). He tells you this (apparently) in his follow up private messages, AFTER you book with him. Great! Basically catfishing. Second, we haven't been able to sleep. I mean we've been in many parts of Italy (so "this is Italy" does not work), other islands as well (so "this is island life" also does not work), always stayed in the city center (so "but it's the city center, what did you expect " also does not work), but never had to deal with what can only be described as extremely loud club music from 10-11 pm until 2-3 am. How is this thing tolerated, I do not know. Unacceptable! How this place only had one bad review on Google is baffling. Reading all the reviews about the cleaniness or whatnot... Who cares about clean floors when you can't sleep? Or when the bathroom stinks because of it's inappropriate plumbing? This is the worst place to stay if you're actually trying to have a relaxing time and sleep during the night. I'm actually typing this at midnight, because even though I am wearing ear plugs and have a white noise on maximum, the beat of the music is so loud, there's no chance of me sleeping. I'm just waiting it out. P.S. After I finished writing my review and after we checked out, guess what! The host canceled our booking on Booking.com, making it seem like we skipped our reservation.

Everything was really great, very clean. Good location for seeing a lot of the sights and some nice restaurants nearby. The room was perfect. The staff were very kind and helpful when my grandma was feeling ill. I will definitely stay here again and would recommend it to everyone else.

It didn’t bother us.. but there is a bar downstairs and the noise travels. BUT this would be the case for most central accommodation in Palermo, it’s a nighttime place. If noise would bother you you’d need to stay further out. Shower was on the small side. This wasn’t an issue for us but something to be mindful of if you require more space.

Great find in the heart of Palermo, room was perfectly appointed and very comfortable. Very easy to walk the city from this location. Nice to have great air con and a balcony. Staff were super friendly and check in process well communicated in advance (no on site reception), room was always cleaned and refreshed well. Accessible by lift and very private and relaxing

Our stay at B&B Il Sonaglio was exceptional! The hospitality was outstanding- we had a last minute change in travel plans and booked the day of, the host contacted us immediately to let us know we can check in any time and reserved a parking spot for us in a lot 2 minutes away. Any time we needed help or direction, the host was always available and responded very quickly. The room was very clean, spacious, and comfortable. I read some reviews that you can hear noise from the street at night, but it was very quiet and we heard nothing (and I am a very light sleeper)! The location is excellent- we were in a very cool neighborhood with lots of shops and restaurants, and just a quick walk from the center! I would absolutely stay at B&B Il Sonaglio again and highly recommend for when in Palermo!
