Each review score is between 1-10. To get the overall score that you see, we add up all the review scores we’ve received and divide that total by the number of review scores we’ve received. We use a weighted review system which means that the more recent the review, the bigger the impact on the total review score calculation. In addition, guests can give separate ‘subscores’ in crucial areas, such as location, cleanliness, staff, comfort, facilities, value for money and free Wi-Fi. Note that guests submit their subscores and their overall scores independently, so there’s no direct link between them.
You can review an Accommodation that you booked through our Platform if you stayed there or if you arrived at the property but didn’t actually stay there. To edit a review you’ve already submitted, please contact our Customer Service team.
We have people and automated systems that specialise in detecting fake reviews submitted to our Platform. If we find any, we delete them and, if necessary, take action against whoever is responsible.
Anyone else who spots something suspicious can always report it to our Customer Service team, so our Fraud team can investigate.
Ideally, we would publish every review we receive, whether positive or negative. However, we won’t display any review that includes or refers to (among other things):
To make sure reviews are relevant, we may only accept reviews that are submitted within 3 months of checking out, and we may stop showing reviews once they’re 36 months old – or if the Accommodation has a change of ownership.
An Accommodation may choose to reply to a review.
When you see multiple reviews, the most recent ones will be at the top, subject to a few other factors (what language a review is in, whether it’s just a rating or contains comments as well, etc.). If you like, you can sort and/or filter them (by time of year, review score, etc.).
We sometimes show external review scores from other well-known travel websites. We make it clear when we’ve done this.
These guidelines and standards aim to keep the content on Booking.com relevant and family-friendly without limiting expression of strong opinions. They are also applicable regardless of the sentiment of the comment.
Contributions should be travel related. The most helpful contributions are detailed and help others make better decisions. Please don’t include personal, political, ethical, or religious commentary. Promotional content will be removed and issues concerning Booking.com’s services should be routed to our Customer Service or Accommodation Service teams.
Contributions should be appropriate for a global audience. Please avoid using profanity or attempts to approximate profanity with creative spelling, in any language. Comments and media that include 'hate speech', discriminatory remarks, threats, sexually explicit remarks, violence, and the promotion of illegal activity are not permitted.
All content should be genuine and unique to the guest. Reviews are most valuable when they are original and unbiased. Your contribution should be yours. Booking.com property partners should not post on behalf of guests or offer incentives in exchange for reviews. Attempts to bring down the rating of a competitor by submitting a negative review will not be tolerated.
Respect the privacy of others. Booking.com will make an effort to obscure email addresses, telephone numbers, website addresses, social media accounts, and similar details.
The opinions expressed in contributions are those of Booking.com customers and properties and not of Booking.com. Booking.com does not accept responsibility or liability for any reviews or responses. Booking.com is a distributor (without any obligation to verify) and not a publisher of these comments and responses.
By default, reviews are sorted based on the date of the review and on additional criteria to display the most relevant reviews, including but not limited to: your language, reviews with text, and non-anonymous reviews. Additional sorting options may be available (by type of traveller, by score, etc.).

United KingdomThe actual bed frame was very weak and falling apart
Easy access to the bus system which would lead straight into the city. The room had plenty of space and the bathroom was clean. The owner went out of his way to make us feel comfortable and supported, helping where needed

CanadaThe beds were a little hard and the first night the sheets were cotton. After the beds were made, the pillowcases were not cotton and I’m a fabric diva so this wasn’t great for me, lol!
We absolutely loved the charismatic and friendly host. The room was spacious and clean. Breakfast was very convenient at the little cafe down the way and you could chose what you liked. Very enjoyable experience, highly recommend!

United StatesThe property is far from the historic center. It can be reached by bus but the bus route had a detour skipping a stop closest to the B&B.
Spacious and airy room, comfortable beds and pillows, excellent water pressure for the shower. Mariano the host was super helpful and did everything to make our stay a pleasant one.

BelgiumThe owner was very nice, gave me restauranttips with discount and fabulous food, the room was very big and the facilities clean and exactly what you need. It is a bit outside of the center but there are two busses very close by, and that gives you a quiet, safe neighbourhood at night but the ease of being in the city in 10 min.

Il Tabernacolo is like staying at a friend's home. It reminded me of my student times in Florence. The owner, Mariano, is super nice, cheerful and extremely helpful. There is no self-check-in, which we liked, since we got to chat with him. Check-in is until 10pm which was perfect for us, since we arrived late by train. Mariano waited for us outside and was so lovely that we immediately forgot that we were tired and had made a long journey. The rooms are simple but tasteful, extremely clean and the beds are very comfortable. (To get into the shower might be a little difficult for those who are short or not that agile, it is a big step up, but that just depends. And the apartment is on the second floor, so just be aware that there are stairs.) The breakfast is in the kitchen, with lovingly prepared Italian coffee-makers on the stove, a fridge with all essentials and friendly laid tables. If you think there is something missing, there are two cafés almost opposite where you can buy croissants and a supermarket around the corner. The area is safe, calm and not very touristy, so there is still normal Florentine life, which is hard to find in the centre of the city. There are buses no.14 and 6, that bring you right to the center and Santa Maria Novella station. The station of Firenze Campo di Marte, where many regional trains stop, is in walking distance. The fresco of the Last Supper by Andrea del Sarto in San Salvi, which is a wonderful place off the beaten track, is around the corner. In about 10/15 minutes you can reach the Sant'Ambrogio and Santa Croce area. The river with some lovely bars on its banks is just 7 minutes on foot. If you like walking, it is lovely to follow the Arno and walk into the centre. We were delighted to find such a down to earth and friendly place and would definitely come back. Thank you!!! We had a wonderful, wonderful stay.

United KingdomNothing- would recommend to anyone!
Breakfast was simple but fine. Room was very very clean and spacious. Mariano who runs the bnb was superb, possibly the best host I've come across. Anything we needed he would help with! About a 30-35min walk to center of Florence but a lively walk through the pleasant streets or along the riverbank. If you prefer not to walk then there was regular buses.

PolandThe stay at B&B IL TABERNACOLO was most enjoyable. The hospitality, smile and kindness of Mariano (the owner) made us feel almost at home. The check-in process went very smoothly. The place was very clean (including the private bathroom), everything was in its place and kept tidy. The room is quiet, you can sleep well and relax there. The location is very good: there is a minimarket and several restaurants nearby, tabaccheria on the opposite side of the street (you can buy bus tickets there) and close to the bus stop. In the shared kitchen, we were served delicious Italian coffee, tea and snacks for breakfast before going out into the city. Mariano's tips on the area and visiting the city (bus connections, bar and restaurant recommendations, etc.) were also very practical. I definitely recommend the owner and his venue :)

SwitzerlandLocation outside of the tourist center was pleasant as it allowed to relax a bit, the walk to all the hotspots is nice and leads along a street with many bars, restaurants and little shops/boutiques not overrun by tourists. The host is super friendly, helpful and always present. Excellent breakfast at the bar/cafe opposite the residence. Highly recommend and outstanding value for money.

The host, Mariano, was like a relative who lived locally in Florence. He was the best source for the best bus to catch, always attentive to details and helped with luggage up 2 flights of stairs. I also loves the coffee he prepared for us each morning.

United StatesMariano was great. This has been by far the best place we have stayed in, in Italy. Everything was super clean, you could tell as soon as you entered the room. Mariano gave us great suggestions when it came to places to visit and how to get around, and also places to eat. We will definitely recommend this place to family and friends, and we will definitely stay here again when we return to Florance. Thanks once again Mariano for everything!!!!

AustraliaThe street can be a bit noisy at night, and the air conditioning at times struggles to keep up with the summer heat, but the quality of the service provided by the host more than makes up for it - especially considering the reasonable pricing.
The host, Mariano, was very welcoming and non-intrusive. He was genuinely kind and eager to provide information about the local area, and was always available to answer any questions via messenger. The room was kept very clean, and amenities such as laundry and drinks in the communal kitchen space were provided free of charge. While you may occasionally hear others in the halls, the soundproofing between rooms was excellent. Major locations, such as the Uffizi and Pitti galleries, are a somewhat long but manageable walking distance away, eased by the scenic walk along the river - but public transport is also easily accessible. There are a few quality restaurants and convenience stores nearby - which, like the room, were very reasonably priced.
