How guest reviews work
Each review score is between 1-10. To get the overall score that you see, we add up all the review scores we’ve received and divide that total by the number of review scores we’ve received. We use a weighted review system which means that the more recent the review, the bigger the impact on the total review score calculation. In addition, guests can give separate ‘subscores’ in crucial areas, such as location, cleanliness, staff, comfort, facilities, value for money and free Wi-Fi. Note that guests submit their subscores and their overall scores independently, so there’s no direct link between them.
You can review an Accommodation that you booked through our Platform if you stayed there or if you arrived at the property but didn’t actually stay there. To edit a review you’ve already submitted, please contact our Customer Service team.
We have people and automated systems that specialise in detecting fake reviews submitted to our Platform. If we find any, we delete them and, if necessary, take action against whoever is responsible.
Anyone else who spots something suspicious can always report it to our Customer Service team, so our Fraud team can investigate.
Ideally, we would publish every review we receive, whether positive or negative. However, we won’t display any review that includes or refers to (among other things):
- Politically sensitive comments
- Promotional content
- Illegal activities
- Personal or sensitive information (e.g. emails, phone numbers or credit card info)
- Swear words, sexual references, hate speech, discriminatory remarks, threats, or references to violence
- Spam and fake content
- Animal cruelty
- Impersonation (e.g. if the writer is claiming to be someone else)
- Any violation of our review guidelines.
To make sure reviews are relevant, we may only accept reviews that are submitted within 3 months of checking out, and we may stop showing reviews once they’re 36 months old – or if the Accommodation has a change of ownership.
An Accommodation may choose to reply to a review.
When you see multiple reviews, the most recent ones will be at the top, subject to a few other factors (what language a review is in, whether it’s just a rating or contains comments as well, etc.). If you like, you can sort and/or filter them (by time of year, review score, etc.).
We sometimes show external review scores from other well-known travel websites. We make it clear when we’ve done this.
Guidelines and standards for Reviews
These guidelines and standards aim to keep the content on Booking.com relevant and family-friendly without limiting expression of strong opinions. They are also applicable regardless of the sentiment of the comment.
Contributions should be travel related. The most helpful contributions are detailed and help others make better decisions. Please don’t include personal, political, ethical, or religious commentary. Promotional content will be removed and issues concerning Booking.com’s services should be routed to our Customer Service or Accommodation Service teams.
Contributions should be appropriate for a global audience. Please avoid using profanity or attempts to approximate profanity with creative spelling, in any language. Comments and media that include 'hate speech', discriminatory remarks, threats, sexually explicit remarks, violence, and the promotion of illegal activity are not permitted.
All content should be genuine and unique to the guest. Reviews are most valuable when they are original and unbiased. Your contribution should be yours. Booking.com property partners should not post on behalf of guests or offer incentives in exchange for reviews. Attempts to bring down the rating of a competitor by submitting a negative review will not be tolerated.
Respect the privacy of others. Booking.com will make an effort to obscure email addresses, telephone numbers, website addresses, social media accounts, and similar details.
The opinions expressed in contributions are those of Booking.com customers and properties and not of Booking.com. Booking.com does not accept responsibility or liability for any reviews or responses. Booking.com is a distributor (without any obligation to verify) and not a publisher of these comments and responses.
By default, reviews are sorted based on the date of the review and on additional criteria to display the most relevant reviews, including but not limited to: your language, reviews with text, and non-anonymous reviews. Additional sorting options may be available (by type of traveller, by score, etc.).

Verified reviewThe communication with the host was great. The room has just essential things but very clean and cosy. There is a supermarket very close and a bus stop, where you can take the direct bus, to the emblematic places, but you have to travel almost an hour to Vatican and more then 30 minutes to Coliseum. There is no balcony, but if you are smoker you can go to the yeard because the apartment is on the first floor. The neighborhood is very quiet and friendly.
It is a bit far from the centre, there is no fridge in all the apartments area.

Verified reviewThe room was clean. The bathroom is small but comfortable. Location is ok - bus stop in 2 minutes walking distance and you can drive to colloseum in around 40 minutes, Vatican around 50-60 minutes. Towels, hair dryers, small kitchens with everything you need to prepare some food was there. The air conditioning was working without any problem, the room is not big so the temperature was comfortable in few minutes. The neighbourhood was quiet, there wasn't any problem with that. Apartment is on first floor so you need to climb only few steps.
This was one apartment changed to more rooms so you got one main entry for more people. Informations about getting keys are kind of misleading, but after all everything was ok. I'm still after 2 days from sending massage are waiting for confirming IBAN number to send tourist tax...

Verified reviewThe room was nice with air conditioning. Had hangers and decorative. Coffee station was available along with one iron for clothes to be shared amongst all the rooms.
It was really far from the city, with the transport service slow. The walls were quite thin and it was hard falling asleep with the other guests making noise until the early hours of the morning.

Verified reviewLocation was good for the tram to roma termini The hosts were helpful when we couldn't find it.
We arrived, and there was no signage, so we didn't think we were in the right place as it looked liike a residential block of flats. The walls were mouldy and in need of decoration and repair. The boiler was in the room and kept us awake all night as it was very noisy . We were given 2 hand towels and 2 face towels, but no bath towels were provided, so it was ridiculous after showering, trying to get dry. No tv no bin other than a tiny bin in the bathroom. This is advertised as a b&b. However, it is an Airbnb

Verified reviewLocation close to main attractions and public transport
Firstly the room we were given was nothing like the pictures on booking.com. We were totally disappointed about this. Following this the curtains continuously kept falling off the wall onto our heads. The drainage in the bathroom was very poor this allowed the water to flow into the living accommodation. The blinds wouldn’t shut, this was a major issue as we were on the ground floor allowing the public walking in the carpark to look in. The boiler constantly made unusual noises but never produced any hot water during the whole 2 nights we were there despite informing the owner straight away. The owner was unprofessional, she was extremely slow and unhelpful responding to us, a full refund was agreed upon verbally and in writing. However despite being 3 weeks later we have still not received any communication or received any refund that was agreed.

Verified reviewThe room was very comfortable and clean, as well as being pretty close to transportation. The host was very kind and helpful and handled everything very nicely. Communication with her was super easy, which made the whole experience enjoyable. Overall I would recommend it to everyone who wants an affordable option not very far away from the center.

Verified reviewapartment was absolutely amazing ,clean and comfortable and very new .everything we needed was there and the landlady was very helpful and kind.It was a 20-30 minute walk from the main attractions but there are public transport options you can take very close to the apartment .Also you can find food and mini markets and coffee shops very nearby .I would definitely go again and i would definitely recommend it for couples because the walk to the apartment it's long and the road isn't that crowded
