Bova is a very special little village in the Aspromonte mountains. The houses are located like an eagle nest around the rock. This means, that there are only little streets and no cars around the B&B (park close to the police station, 3 minutes walk, but steps). The B&B is in an old house, but totally new renovated. From the little balcony/windows it is possible to see the ocean. There is also a little backyard garden for breakfast. It is very charming and if you want to dive into a romantic greek-calabrian mountain village, it is a perfect location. Nice hikes are also around. The contact was via WA, everything was smooth.

Beautiful, fresh, clean, comfy and beautiful views. Well appointed for short stay.

Access not easy to fund but staff was very helpful.

Had a lovely stay at Carmelo’s freshly renovated B&B La Ginestra. The top floor room has a double and a single bed and a French balcony with a beautiful view south of the lush, surrounding mountains and the ocean. The room has an ensuite bathroom and shower. Hot water came straight away and was abundant. The wifi was super fast and always worked perfectly. There is a backyard from which I had breakfast every morning. Absolutely peaceful and lovely to enjoy the sun and the birds chirping. There is a shared kitchenette on the bottom floor with a fridge, sink and two hot plates etc. Bova is a very particular, fascinating and beautiful town with Grecanic roots, perched on a hilltop at approx 850 m height. The road getting there is quite alright and never really too narrow not to be able to accommodate oncoming cars (two cars in width). The B&B itself is located a short walk down in to the town from where you can park your car. Within a 5-10 minute walk, you will find several lovely hikes in to the breathtaking and beautiful Aspromonte National Park (recommended: loop to Amendolea and back as well as the loop up to Montegrosso and back). Carmelo was truly a superb host and acted like my private concierge; checking in on me and suggesting incredibly good places to eat (shoutout to Coop San Leo) and even reserving for me! A beautiful experience with friendly interactions with locals and lovely nature memories! I’ll happily come back again when I need to recharge.
