How guest reviews work
Each review score is between 1-10. To get the overall score that you see, we add up all the review scores we’ve received and divide that total by the number of review scores we’ve received. We use a weighted review system which means that the more recent the review, the bigger the impact on the total review score calculation. In addition, guests can give separate ‘subscores’ in crucial areas, such as location, cleanliness, staff, comfort, facilities, value for money and free Wi-Fi. Note that guests submit their subscores and their overall scores independently, so there’s no direct link between them.
You can review an Accommodation that you booked through our Platform if you stayed there or if you arrived at the property but didn’t actually stay there. To edit a review you’ve already submitted, please contact our Customer Service team.
We have people and automated systems that specialise in detecting fake reviews submitted to our Platform. If we find any, we delete them and, if necessary, take action against whoever is responsible.
Anyone else who spots something suspicious can always report it to our Customer Service team, so our Fraud team can investigate.
Ideally, we would publish every review we receive, whether positive or negative. However, we won’t display any review that includes or refers to (among other things):
- Politically sensitive comments
- Promotional content
- Illegal activities
- Personal or sensitive information (e.g. emails, phone numbers or credit card info)
- Swear words, sexual references, hate speech, discriminatory remarks, threats, or references to violence
- Spam and fake content
- Animal cruelty
- Impersonation (e.g. if the writer is claiming to be someone else)
- Any violation of our review guidelines.
To make sure reviews are relevant, we may only accept reviews that are submitted within 3 months of checking out, and we may stop showing reviews once they’re 36 months old – or if the Accommodation has a change of ownership.
An Accommodation may choose to reply to a review.
When you see multiple reviews, the most recent ones will be at the top, subject to a few other factors (what language a review is in, whether it’s just a rating or contains comments as well, etc.). If you like, you can sort and/or filter them (by time of year, review score, etc.).
We sometimes show external review scores from other well-known travel websites. We make it clear when we’ve done this.
Guidelines and standards for Reviews
These guidelines and standards aim to keep the content on Booking.com relevant and family-friendly without limiting expression of strong opinions. They are also applicable regardless of the sentiment of the comment.
Contributions should be travel related. The most helpful contributions are detailed and help others make better decisions. Please don’t include personal, political, ethical, or religious commentary. Promotional content will be removed and issues concerning Booking.com’s services should be routed to our Customer Service or Accommodation Service teams.
Contributions should be appropriate for a global audience. Please avoid using profanity or attempts to approximate profanity with creative spelling, in any language. Comments and media that include 'hate speech', discriminatory remarks, threats, sexually explicit remarks, violence, and the promotion of illegal activity are not permitted.
All content should be genuine and unique to the guest. Reviews are most valuable when they are original and unbiased. Your contribution should be yours. Booking.com property partners should not post on behalf of guests or offer incentives in exchange for reviews. Attempts to bring down the rating of a competitor by submitting a negative review will not be tolerated.
Respect the privacy of others. Booking.com will make an effort to obscure email addresses, telephone numbers, website addresses, social media accounts, and similar details.
The opinions expressed in contributions are those of Booking.com customers and properties and not of Booking.com. Booking.com does not accept responsibility or liability for any reviews or responses. Booking.com is a distributor (without any obligation to verify) and not a publisher of these comments and responses.
By default, reviews are sorted based on the date of the review and on additional criteria to display the most relevant reviews, including but not limited to: your language, reviews with text, and non-anonymous reviews. Additional sorting options may be available (by type of traveller, by score, etc.).

Verified reviewVery close to Al Duomo and all the beautiful squares. Breakfast and accommodations were wonderful. The best part was the host Alessio. Not only did he drive us to the train station, he even drove back to the train station when I forgot my earrings. All rooms on the ground floor which makes it easily accessible.

Verified reviewI loved pretty much everything about this unique B&B -the old world Italian decor with the high ceilings, antique furniture, exposed brick, comfortable beds and linens and a modern bathroom with super soft towels! Even the lighting in the room was thoughtful! The breakfast was good enough to start the day. Alessio was a total gem of a sweatheart. I arrived 2 days early but there was no availability at the time,so he found me another wonderful place, B&B Rosellina, which was right around the corner, until I could check in to Malennio. He even brought my luggage over from B&B Rosellina. What a nice surprise after a long day out and about! The only drawback was that this B&B can be a little noisy, because it is old and not soundproof. You can at times hear the other guests, and the breakfast area is right next to the rooms. But oh the charm and location of this place! And ALESSIO! It was totally worth it!! Grazie mille!
It can be noisy but that can't really be helped because it is an old buiding and that's part of its charm.

Verified reviewI loved everything! Alessio is a marvelous host, which is key. His property is enchanting and makes the visit to Lecce magical. Ground floor rooms actually are a treat after many wonderful properties that did involve stairs. Breakfast is substantial. The property is small enough that it feels like one’s own apartment which again helps to make the visit extremely special. Thank you, Alessio, for your hospitality and availability. I hope to return soon! Buona Fortuna! 🇮🇹☀️

Verified reviewGood location.
Unfortunately we were not quite pleased with the beds, very narrow, rather uncomfortable and creaky. Breakfast, with only sweet things. No fresh bread or cheese.

Verified reviewQuiet central location in Lecce. Nice room for solo traveller, with pleasant outside terrace. Appreciate the tea/coffee available through the day.
Ok breakfast but cakes/fruit a bit stale as left out night before.

Verified reviewThe location was perfect -- close to Duomo and the lively main street full of shops and restaurants, but far enough away to be quiet. The breakfast was my favourite part of the stay. An espresso maker that was easy to use with Lavassa pods, plus a milk frother for those cappuccinos. A variety of cakes, pastries, and fruits were generously provided and there were always yogurt, water, and milk in the fridge. Alessio also kindly provided lactose free options for me.
My room didn't have a lot of natural light so a bit more lighting would have been great. The shower door did not close properly and the gap allowed water to leak onto the bathroom floor.

Verified reviewThe place has a perfect location in the Old town of Lecce, close to all attractions. Being in an old building, it is charming and authentic, while at the same time having all modern conveniences. Breakfast was quite good, with variety of cakes and some fruits as well. Easy and efficient communication with the owner, smooth check-in and check-out.
It was a bit noisy, one could hear neighbours late in the evening. There were also some construction/renovation (?) works in the adjacent building starting at 7 in the morning. The place was very clean but some mould has started to appear in the shower cabin.

There was a lot of construction nearby at the time, and my room seemed to be double booked? Breakfast was okay.

Verified reviewThe place is very atmospheric: old walls, beautiful arches. The host is very helpful and friendly, and is readily available to assist in any way.
The place is below the level of the neighbouring street, so there is not much light. In the bathroom, it is worth replacing the seal in the shower, as it leaks, which is not very comfortable. Breakfast: several kinds of pastries to choose from and fruit, prepared the day before by the host, not all the freshest.

Verified reviewThe communication with Alessio was excellent. He was a very responsive and helpful host, and let me check my bags in early and leave them for a bit after the checkout as well. The breakfast was great, and the place, spotless. In addition apartment's location is incredible, 3 mins from Porta Napoli.

Verified reviewI was only at the B&B for one night, but it was a lovely, large room with access to a terrace. The owner was super helpful. It was all coordinated through booking.com and whatsapp but everything went very smoothly. I particularly appreciated that the owner arranged a transfer for me to Brindisi airport; he even called the taxi driver while I was in the taxi to make sure the pick-up had gone as planned.

Verified reviewThis was a truly fabulous little BnB - with just 3 rooms - in an old monastery and it retains the original character and stonework . Alessio is a wonderful host - who goes out of his way to make sure he has happy guests . The beds are super comfortable , there are fresh towels and a door which leads into a pretty little garden . There are modern private en-suites and everything needed to make your stay as perfect as possible . He lays on a super breakfast with coffee, tea and fresh cake and pastries and there is lots of information re making your stay in Lecce easy . In terms of location , you can’t beat it. You are surrounded by shops , restaurants , cafes and gelateras and you can walk everywhere . It is also a very close walk to the bus station if you are transporting back to the airport . I loved it and found it wonderfully relaxing . I would rate it as a 3 star . It is traditional Italian , not flash modern but that is what I want nowadays ! Thank you Alessio for your superb & welcoming hospitality .
