How guest reviews work
Each review score is between 1-10. To get the overall score that you see, we add up all the review scores we’ve received and divide that total by the number of review scores we’ve received. We use a weighted review system which means that the more recent the review, the bigger the impact on the total review score calculation. In addition, guests can give separate ‘subscores’ in crucial areas, such as location, cleanliness, staff, comfort, facilities, value for money and free Wi-Fi. Note that guests submit their subscores and their overall scores independently, so there’s no direct link between them.
You can review an Accommodation that you booked through our Platform if you stayed there or if you arrived at the property but didn’t actually stay there. To edit a review you’ve already submitted, please contact our Customer Service team.
We have people and automated systems that specialise in detecting fake reviews submitted to our Platform. If we find any, we delete them and, if necessary, take action against whoever is responsible.
Anyone else who spots something suspicious can always report it to our Customer Service team, so our Fraud team can investigate.
Ideally, we would publish every review we receive, whether positive or negative. However, we won’t display any review that includes or refers to (among other things):
- Politically sensitive comments
- Promotional content
- Illegal activities
- Personal or sensitive information (e.g. emails, phone numbers or credit card info)
- Swear words, sexual references, hate speech, discriminatory remarks, threats, or references to violence
- Spam and fake content
- Animal cruelty
- Impersonation (e.g. if the writer is claiming to be someone else)
- Any violation of our review guidelines.
To make sure reviews are relevant, we may only accept reviews that are submitted within 3 months of checking out, and we may stop showing reviews once they’re 36 months old – or if the Accommodation has a change of ownership.
An Accommodation may choose to reply to a review.
When you see multiple reviews, the most recent ones will be at the top, subject to a few other factors (what language a review is in, whether it’s just a rating or contains comments as well, etc.). If you like, you can sort and/or filter them (by time of year, review score, etc.).
We sometimes show external review scores from other well-known travel websites. We make it clear when we’ve done this.
Guidelines and standards for Reviews
These guidelines and standards aim to keep the content on Booking.com relevant and family-friendly without limiting expression of strong opinions. They are also applicable regardless of the sentiment of the comment.
Contributions should be travel related. The most helpful contributions are detailed and help others make better decisions. Please don’t include personal, political, ethical, or religious commentary. Promotional content will be removed and issues concerning Booking.com’s services should be routed to our Customer Service or Accommodation Service teams.
Contributions should be appropriate for a global audience. Please avoid using profanity or attempts to approximate profanity with creative spelling, in any language. Comments and media that include 'hate speech', discriminatory remarks, threats, sexually explicit remarks, violence, and the promotion of illegal activity are not permitted.
All content should be genuine and unique to the guest. Reviews are most valuable when they are original and unbiased. Your contribution should be yours. Booking.com property partners should not post on behalf of guests or offer incentives in exchange for reviews. Attempts to bring down the rating of a competitor by submitting a negative review will not be tolerated.
Respect the privacy of others. Booking.com will make an effort to obscure email addresses, telephone numbers, website addresses, social media accounts, and similar details.
The opinions expressed in contributions are those of Booking.com customers and properties and not of Booking.com. Booking.com does not accept responsibility or liability for any reviews or responses. Booking.com is a distributor (without any obligation to verify) and not a publisher of these comments and responses.
By default, reviews are sorted based on the date of the review and on additional criteria to display the most relevant reviews, including but not limited to: your language, reviews with text, and non-anonymous reviews. Additional sorting options may be available (by type of traveller, by score, etc.).

Verified reviewThe location (incredible small restaurants nearby, both cheap, local and good, not that hard public bus to get to the house), an incredible sense of welcoming, very detailed advices from the host, little attentions & gifts everywhere in the room.
1. The "Mare" room had no air aeration at all. During the heat wave, when we stayed, the cold night wind came only from the mountain-facing side of the house, not the "sea view" side of the house. Only one (and loud) fan is not enough to get even a comfortable night of sleep in these conditions. We recommand the host to invest into air conditioning as heat waves are expected to be more and more frequent. 2. The breakfast was a mix of bakeries (by the way very good!) but the salted part of the breakfast felt rather cheap & limited (industrial bread, rectangular slice of cheddar).
Thank you! The Mare room, as its name suggests, faces the sea, where a cool breeze blows in, especially at night. To combat the heat, it would have been enough to open the window, which is equipped with a mosquito net, and turn on the fan provided. As for breakfast, the savory option, as you can clearly see from the photos on booking.com, includes sliced cheese, three types of cured meats, and fish. Then there's the sweet breakfast, consisting of three types of cakes, three types of croissants, jams, honey, and Nutella. Fruit and tomatoes are also available.

Verified reviewThe breakfast is ok or minimum. The location is extremely inconvenient if a person doesn’t have a car. The only means of transportation is the bus which is very irregular and often times need to wait 45 minutes or an hour to show up. The bus schedule is also unreliable.
If we knew the location is so far away from city , we should booked a different location.
Thank you

Verified reviewThe host is very welcoming and kind. We had a great time staying at Mare and Monti! Parking at the accommodation requires driving up a steep path, hence, we parked next to the street instead. The breakfast was served on the balcony with a great view, definitely recommendable:)
This is only a minor comment, but not a lot of water flowed out of the water tap in the bathroom.
Thank you

Verified reviewAMAZING PLACE! Paola (the host) is the most helpful and nice person I’ve ever known. The view from the balcony is stunning. The room is cozy and clean. There is fridge in the room, big bed, private bathroom outside room. Paola gave us tips and tricks about surrounding beaches and she gave us bus timetable. Breakfast was on the balcony with amazing view, really tasty coffee. I hope that I will come back there soon or later.
Thank you

Verified reviewWe (couple 64 and 63 years old) stayed for two nights at this B&B. Immediately after arriving we were warmly welcomed by Paula and Mario, the owners of the B&B. They did this with so much enthusiasm during our stay that we felt very much at home. The rooms are fully equipped and the breakfast was excellent. If we're in the area again, we'll be back!
Thank you, the pleasure was ours!

Verified reviewPaola (the host) is super nice! The view from the B&B is beautiful! Perfect for the breakfast! The place is clean, and price is good.
The place is hard to reach after 8pm if you don't have car because it's at the top of a mountain and there are no night bus. Count 50min by walk.
Merçi beaucoup, un câlin Paola

Verified reviewMare e Monte is at the top of a very big hill aka the mountain part with a fabulous view of the sea from our balcony. It is like staying with your favourite Nonna. The house is wonderfully old style Italian, we had a pink chenille bedspread, and full of thoughtful touches. There was a little fridge in the room to keep a bottle of wine cold and a China bowl of fruity lollies. Paola, provides a comprehensive continental style breakfast spread, there is toast, slices of cheese, ham &salami. Fresh tomatoes and fruits from local gardens. A jam tart. Coffee, tea and orange juice. She had a bottle of soya milk in the pantry to cater for my no dairy daughter and gave us lots of helpful maps and timetables for all the busses. The busses are a bit random, lots early in the morning and then very few during the day and finishing around 7:30 in the evening. We took a taxi home one night and it was about €20. Oh and we loved the local restaurant La Gira, it is super popular with locals, so do book as recommended. It’s not fancy and if they can’t give you a table you can still get a drink from the bar. You can buy fresh fruit, bread, cheese and meat from the little shop just at the bottom of the driveway. Open till 7:30 pm for a DIY picnic on the balcony.
We loved it, just remember it’s well out of town.
Thank you

Verified reviewPaola and her husband were super nice and very welcoming. The room was clean and the breakfast was very delicious as well. They are very hospitable and helpful. They are the best homeowners that I have ever experienced. They treat you like you are one of their family members.
The location was a bit far from the city center and the buses are not very frequent.

The location is a bit far from the station, but once you figure out how the buses work, it's really not a problem at all.
