How guest reviews work
Each review score is between 1-10. To get the overall score that you see, we add up all the review scores we’ve received and divide that total by the number of review scores we’ve received. We use a weighted review system which means that the more recent the review, the bigger the impact on the total review score calculation. In addition, guests can give separate ‘subscores’ in crucial areas, such as location, cleanliness, staff, comfort, facilities, value for money and free Wi-Fi. Note that guests submit their subscores and their overall scores independently, so there’s no direct link between them.
You can review an Accommodation that you booked through our Platform if you stayed there or if you arrived at the property but didn’t actually stay there. To edit a review you’ve already submitted, please contact our Customer Service team.
We have people and automated systems that specialise in detecting fake reviews submitted to our Platform. If we find any, we delete them and, if necessary, take action against whoever is responsible.
Anyone else who spots something suspicious can always report it to our Customer Service team, so our Fraud team can investigate.
Ideally, we would publish every review we receive, whether positive or negative. However, we won’t display any review that includes or refers to (among other things):
- Politically sensitive comments
- Promotional content
- Illegal activities
- Personal or sensitive information (e.g. emails, phone numbers or credit card info)
- Swear words, sexual references, hate speech, discriminatory remarks, threats, or references to violence
- Spam and fake content
- Animal cruelty
- Impersonation (e.g. if the writer is claiming to be someone else)
- Any violation of our review guidelines.
To make sure reviews are relevant, we may only accept reviews that are submitted within 3 months of checking out, and we may stop showing reviews once they’re 36 months old – or if the Accommodation has a change of ownership.
An Accommodation may choose to reply to a review.
When you see multiple reviews, the most recent ones will be at the top, subject to a few other factors (what language a review is in, whether it’s just a rating or contains comments as well, etc.). If you like, you can sort and/or filter them (by time of year, review score, etc.).
We sometimes show external review scores from other well-known travel websites. We make it clear when we’ve done this.
Guidelines and standards for Reviews
These guidelines and standards aim to keep the content on Booking.com relevant and family-friendly without limiting expression of strong opinions. They are also applicable regardless of the sentiment of the comment.
Contributions should be travel related. The most helpful contributions are detailed and help others make better decisions. Please don’t include personal, political, ethical, or religious commentary. Promotional content will be removed and issues concerning Booking.com’s services should be routed to our Customer Service or Accommodation Service teams.
Contributions should be appropriate for a global audience. Please avoid using profanity or attempts to approximate profanity with creative spelling, in any language. Comments and media that include 'hate speech', discriminatory remarks, threats, sexually explicit remarks, violence, and the promotion of illegal activity are not permitted.
All content should be genuine and unique to the guest. Reviews are most valuable when they are original and unbiased. Your contribution should be yours. Booking.com property partners should not post on behalf of guests or offer incentives in exchange for reviews. Attempts to bring down the rating of a competitor by submitting a negative review will not be tolerated.
Respect the privacy of others. Booking.com will make an effort to obscure email addresses, telephone numbers, website addresses, social media accounts, and similar details.
The opinions expressed in contributions are those of Booking.com customers and properties and not of Booking.com. Booking.com does not accept responsibility or liability for any reviews or responses. Booking.com is a distributor (without any obligation to verify) and not a publisher of these comments and responses.
By default, reviews are sorted based on the date of the review and on additional criteria to display the most relevant reviews, including but not limited to: your language, reviews with text, and non-anonymous reviews. Additional sorting options may be available (by type of traveller, by score, etc.).

Verified reviewRoom and bathroom were simply furnished, reasonably stylish and very clean
We should have had an entry code before we arrived. It took 4 phone calls to various numbers - before we got a text with a code. Wifi password was prominently displayed but 6 different providers came up and the password worked for none of them. Worst was the stairs. The room was at the top floor of a tall building. There were 50 steps and though we travelling light, carrying our suitcases up was a nightmare. If that had been made clear we would have booked somewhere else. Can’t really comment on staff as we didn’t meet anyone. The breakfast vouchers were worth 5 euros each for a local cafe/ patisserie. Lovely welcoming cafe but nothing savoury available for breakfast. Five euros gets you a coffee and cake. Or coffee and ice cream. Personally I don’t like cake for breakfast but many do.

Verified reviewThis was in a lovely location and the room and bath were recently updated. The hardware was very nice and the windows opened to the street 3 stories below. Everything was seemed new although the furniture and bed were older it was all in good shape and looked very styled and furnished well. We liked the room and the view.
Although in the description of the room it noted there were stairs to the room. What was not mentioned is the number of starts. 52 stairs was more than we bargained for and I wish that the number of stairs was mentioned, because I would not what to go up and down that number of stairs three times a day while on vacation and especially while transporting luggage at the beginning and end of the trip. We stayed starting Thursday and left Monday. On Friday night there was rock music and people dancing in the street until past 1:30 AM. The vibration of the music could be felt while in bed. I videoed the street with the music as well as walking up 52 stairs and hope to post that on YouTube. I can't blame loud music on anyone associated with renting the room, but obviously it interfered with our sleep. If I knew that 52 stairs we involved with getting to the room I would not have rented the room. Yes, it was mentioned that stas were involved in getting to the room, but not 52.

Verified reviewLovely host, so helpful and cheerful. Well appointed apartment with a delicious Sicilian breakfast. I had an issue checking in (my own fault) and the host hurried over to assist with my entry. Perfect location with many nearby restaurants. Paid street parking (very affordable) near the property or a few blocks away free street parking.
Bed mattress was a little hard but this is a very common challenge in Sicily (not specific to this property). A small update to the mattress would make this property even more superior. Would stay again regardless.

Verified reviewGreat location, lovely high ceilings and very friendly staff. Nice chat over breakfast every day.
As everyone says it is top floor with no lift so a bit akward. And dark stairs at night meaning we had to use our phone torch. No problems though would stay again.

The property is gorgeous and really beautifully decorated. We had a spacious room with lots of gorgeous natural light and a view of Noto. Perfect location to everything you need in Noto! We had such a great stay, and would highly recommend it to anyone visiting Noto.

Verified reviewVery clear check-in instructions received in advance. Fabulous location. Right in the old centre of Noto and very close to all the main attractions. Room was large, cool and comfortable, with a lovely and unusual mix of old and new fixtures and fittings. Breakfast was superb, presided over by Corrado who was very friendly and helpful. We were able to leave our luggage after checkout and pick it up in time to make our transport onward in the afternoon.
The only minor thing was carrying our luggage up several flights of stairs (the B&B is at top of building: 2nd floor but felt higher!). No lift, so if you have any mobility issues, you would struggle, I imagine.

Verified reviewbreakfast was simple but really good. We had the independent room which was comfortable with a large bathroom and lots of natural light. Quite a few stairs to get up (so ideally no heavy luggage) but well worth it as location is superb.
The only thing is that the floor was a bit dusty but otherwise linen and towels were very clean and no issues there.

Corrado, the host, is kind and helpful—and put together a very nice breakfast for us with local products. Yum. Thanks so much, Corrado.

Verified reviewThe location in the centre but hence very quiet
Breakfast was served only from 8.30 which is rather late and we had to wait as it wasn't ready in time. Poor choices, no fresh fruit. The mattress is worn out
We are very sorry about your review. The breakfast is from 8:30 am because we take fresh and good product from a bakery that make everything with old Sicilian grain and the bakery open at 8:00 am. As breakfast there is fresh bread, croissants, four kind of jam, biscuits, salty food (like cheese, focacce and more) also we use to have fresh fruit. Normally if some customer need to do breakfast early we give the opportunity to do it. Yes, we were late and we are very sorry for that, but everything was ready in five minutes. We hope to have you as guest again and make you live a great experience in our bad and breakfast.
