This B&B is unique, built into or dug out of the stone hill on which the nearby cathedral sits. It is very much in harmony with the rest of this remarkable stone city, Matera. Designed by architect Lorenzo Rota, whose wife Amabile runs the B&B, it is superbly well-equipped, elegant, atmospheric and comfortable. It also could not be more central to the highlights of Matera. Our gracious hosts picked us up from the bus station when we arrived and drove us back to the bus at the end of our stay. Thank you, Lorenzo and Amabile, for all your kindness.

    Property response:

Thank you for your appreciations. We are happy that your stay in our room and in our city was pleasant. We wish you a good continuation of your holidays and a good back to home.

The apartment was in a great location in the historic centre. It was clean, comfortable and had everything one needed to hand. The host was very super friendly and welcoming and supplied us with brochures on Matera etc. and very clear instructions on how to use everything in the apartment. She even gave us some focaccia and sweets to welcome us which was a lovely touch.

    There was nothing to dislike.

    Property response:

It was a real pleasure meeting you and hosting you. Thank you very much

Although it was short on natural light the artificial lighting was exceptional. The design and fit out of the room was high quality. The hosts were very generous with their time and with the treats provided.

Breakfast was a voucher for a local cafe/bar which didn’t open early.

Host is absolutely lovely and very helpful. Location is fantastic, next to the most beautiful church in Matera and with one of the best views. There were also nice touches that really made a difference, such as Bluetooth speakers built into the walls, Nespresso coffee machine, unique ambient lighting, and various snacks on arrival. There is also lots of information provided by the host, such as restaurant recommendations (we wish we paid more attention to those) and walking tours.

The boiler takes a little time to heat up, but this was easy enough to figure out and the host was very helpful. The walking tour on offer was in Italian, but they did give us discount for the English version!

    Property response:

Thanks, it was a pleasure to have you as guests
